Lol this is very well done.
Although I do think Fed gets too much crap on here for the losing H2H, given that he still had to win 6 straight matches to get there. As if it would somehow be better if he floundered in the quarters to mugs after age 33 or something.

Was Federer playing well in the RG 2012 match IYO?This is exactly it. The 2012 match means nothing because Federer was "way past his prime". The 2011 match means everything because "way past his prime" Federer beat peak Djokovic. This way, Federer wins even when he loses.

I remember there was a post in TVD-Originals Wikia on a fantasy match ( like we have peak fed vs peak novak vs peak Sampras matches here)
It was Original Vampire Alaric Saltzman (season 3 TVD) vs Mikael the Destroyer vs Lucien the enhanced Original vs Klaus in his werewolf form
People were giving their various reasons on why peak Alaric would win and some were saying Peak Lucien wins.....
Then there was another such matchup between Dahlia vs Qetsiyah vs Esther vs Bonnie .... the witches ....

TVD was a glorious series, season 1 to 3 were amazing, then it became total nonsense, dragged for no reasons, turned Klaus into a sucker for Caroline, then they developed a great plot of Silas and totally ruined it when Paul Wesley was revealed to be Silas, rubbish, then the Travellers, Augustines, Heretics, Sirens and finally that Cade, lot of irrelevant petty villains.........That aura of Elijah in season 2 and then the buildup surrounding Klaus's arrival to Mystic falls was totally missing ..... Silas somehow built that hype but blew it away.,
The Originals never impressed me a lot, the actors were great (Dahlia, Klaus, Rebekkah, Marcel, Lucien all top class) but sadly the plot was too dull, it didn't have the college theme or romance theme in it, it was as if they were fighting for no reason in New Orleans ..... and the last season hollow or whatever that was, total nonsense and Klaus-Elijah committing suicide was the worst plot ever
TVD, Gossip Girl and True Blood were my fav shows at that time along with Supernatural..... but that was a long time ago, that was a phase.

Man I don't actually have an answer to this one. I think both were better in 2011. The biggest difference is it was a wet tournament in 2012, the sky was overcast, and windy. Contrast to 2011 which is about as sunny and nice as any FO (maybe 2013) ever, with no wind and light balls.
I vehemently disagree with this 'Roger sucked in 2012' hypothesis though, he just made too many UEs but was playing pretty similarly to 2011 imo.
-Federer was up a break in the first set, choked it, Djokovic broke him twice and won the set.
-THEN Federer opened up the 2nd set up 3-0 (a double break), Djokovic broke him back to 3-3, Federer then went up a break AGAIN, but Djokovic fought back and won the set. Fed hit a ton of errors.
From there things got sunnier but both had just played grueling 5 setters in the QFs so 3rd set was pretty tepid and not much going on, Djokovic closed it out in 3.
What this tells us is that hypothetical matches are pure BS as there is no 'neutral conditions' and the previous match heavily weighs on a player's performance in the next match. Conditions and the little things can make all the difference in ATG vs. ATG matchups. However this is never taken into account.

Yeah, I agree with you that Season 1 to 3 were the best. Season 4 was somewhat alright. Season 5 made me very disappointed in the character of Silas and the other storylines were rubbish. The Originals had some good moments here and there.Wish I was active in those forums then, missed it

Caroline was exactly teenager types, not like elena who was stable, she was volatile but she was entertaining, I was a kind of shipping for Klaroline but that didn't work out. Caroline did make Klaus weak in his knees and more humane which was interesting to see and the writers wanted to change Klaus from a villian to one of the regular leads, that means he would blend in among the Mystic Falls crowd, even Damon+Stefan had started to get used to tolerating Klaus, that part of the plot was good and they did build Silas's legend with that Shane telling about him, then myths on how he is still alive etc etc .....
..... Cool stuff but ruined it.If you ask me whom I found annoying in the show (TVD+Originals) then that would be Tyler, Hayley, Cammy, Finn ..... All these were very annoying.
