Thiem
Medvedev, Zverev, Tsitsipas, etc
and now Sinner, Rune and
Alcaraz
whilst having to deal with each other the whole time.
They just can't catch a break and have a a few years all to themselves.

I'll give a few examples.

Djokovic 2021 had to deal with peaking Medvedev and Zverev on HC, Nadal and Tsitispas on clay.
Nadal 2019 had to deal with Djokovic, Federer, peaking Thiem and even Medvedev on HC

Spawts generally improve over time. Tiger went from having to beat John Daly’s of the world to now competing against 30 talented, hard working players that were inspired by the man himself.

Hilarious thread premise aside, people writing obituaries for Djokodal’s season rn should remember that these exact same comments were made when he started mincing the field this exact time last year, and then he ran into Nadal at IW and took an L (death by 1000 volleys) then nearly took one against a fairly rusty Djokovic at Madrid

I really wouldn’t be surprised if Djokovic just keeps winning ze slams until at least 2025. Nadal I’m not so sure about since he seems to be held together by tape and sweat
