Had enough of this baloney. Our club installed artificial grass. This year I am barefooting.
Slip & fall, cuts, fungal infections, toe jams ... and you still have a strong chance to get plantar fasciitis.

Cindi, do you think this shot will cure me ? My doctor told me that sometimes this One shot will cure the problem and some patients never come back. I am hoping this is the case. but otherwise i will dish out some bucks for that insole.
I have no idea. I never considered having a shot. I am not a fan of that sort of intervention, especially when more conservative measures (e.g. custom insoles) have not been tried.
Good luck. I hope it works.
DISASTER. I am not sure What went wrong but i woke up after few hours of sleeping and my foot felt 50 X worse than it did before..... I can't even take a step without feeling like someone put a sledge hammer on it. I am going to call my doctor as soon as they open up.......Is this normal ?? what is going on here ??
You blocked the pain now wonder if you injured your foot further? Go see the Dr.
Now other posters are telling me that it is supposed to be sore for few days after the shot. and the soreness should go away and my feet should be like 18 year olds......
Had three cortisone shots through the side of the heel for plantar fasciaitis. A bit sore but definitely not worse than the untreated arch before the shot. Btw, did you get your foot wrapped too?
OMG,, my doctor was right. It has been just over 24 hours and now feet feels much better. that Steroid flare is going away finally and the pain used to be is getting much better. I haven't been this pain free in 8 month...... We will see how long it lasts and if it gets even BETTER ??
Been there, felt that. Ended up pain-free. Now I am barefootin, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mISq9bvjSc&feature=related
ROTFL,,,, my doctor said don't go barefoot even though you maybe pain free. Lets just hope it doesn't come back..... i may buy one of these as well. kind of expensive though,,, for a slipper.....

It's almost as if he did it on purpose - that's the genious of his "humor" :-?

Glad to hear your plantar fasciitis finally seems to be better. I assume you have been doing plenty of work to stay in shape as all sorts of new injuries can pop up after a lay off. I see where Mikeler just posted he suffered a calf injury after being out for a long time with golfer's elbow, and this is all too common.
Good that the shot worked for you. Be careful about going from 0-60. One of my knee docs cautioned me about this after my first surgery. He said a big chunk of his business is people coming in for a secondary injury after doing too much too quickly after a layoff.

If you have been told that your PF is "really bad", you should consider custom orthotics. I'm a PT in Orange County and we use a company called "Biomechanical Services" to help us with our custom orthotics. (We do the casting in our office then send the casts to them. They make the orthotics). I recommend calling them and asking who in the San Diego area is their best customer. Just don't have the surgery! Find a PT who really knows feet and give that a shot. Good luck!
Custom orthotics are Hard,, aren't they ? do they have cushioning ?
