One is a virus the other is a symptom. Fever is not just a symptom of the flu but other illnesses as well. Saying you have a fever does not necessarily mean that you have the flu. I've only heard Nadal say he has a fever.

Sounds like Rafa is in great physical condition but that his breathing is effected if the point is long (and if he's pushed around like a yo yo by Davy) and the coughing starts. So the cough has to go away for him to be comfortable playing the long points.

Thanks for the picture babs, he's looking much better. Still looks a bit sick though. I wonder if miss princess will go. :mad:

Yeah I noticed the hair fixing and the intense concentration while they were talking and I was like mm roger macking on Rafa's girl won't work, if anything it will **** him off and we all know what happens when Rafa is pissed :p

Nadal felt so unwell during a 6-3 6-2 loss to Davydenko that he contemplated retiring halfway through their semi-final.

He fought on but decided to push back his trip to Australia in order to aid his recovery.

"Going by plane sometimes makes you worse and at the same time I don't have anything to do right now in Australia," Nadal said.

"With my condition right now I think the more reasonable thing to do is rest a few days and have less risk of injuries, less risk of everything."

Federer went on to win his third Qatar title, beating Davydenko in the final and declaring he was in "almost flawless" form in an ominous warning ahead of the Australian Open.

The result saw Federer firm into favouritism to lift the trophy in Melbourne but many still see Nadal as the man to beat.

I wouldn't really put the Daily mail or the Sun in that category of 'Newspapers'. I'd say its closer to waste paper, or maybe even tissue paper, but technically since they put a line on page 17 about 'Thems floods in Oztralia', they can be classified as news. This is obviously ignoring the front page exclusives on why Kerry Katona had to have brain surgery because she thought aliens were burrowing inside her, or how Jordan lost ten stone through a breast reduction. Or the Mail's rants on why everyone is being killed by everything, and we should just lock ourselves inside the basement, so as to best avoid the poisons of the outside world with their 4x4s and global warming. But they can sometimes be relevant, and this was apparent during the recent elections. The Sun in particular, ran some very unbiased, neutral and beautifully written pieces throughout the campaigns. Just take a look:

How on earth is this "Mission Accomplished"? And many already thought fed was favourite for the AO back at the WTF. It doesn't make it better if rafa is underdog, in fact I'm pretty sure many had him as favourite for Wimby '08/joint for '10 and USO '10, and he still won there, so it doesn't seem to make a difference.

It doesn't make a difference to Rafa, but it's better in the 'legend' of the story that he be underdog. It just reads better. Federer had not been the favorite until now actually, Rafa was the betting favorite until now.

This is actually true, he was a close second tho. I haven't seen the latest odds, so i don't know how much has changed.

Yeah the story just reads better when Federer is the favorite. Be awesome if Rafa won his 4th straight slam while Federer was the favorite. I think if they both make the AO Final the odds will have Federer as the favorite.

Either way my initial thoughts before were/are that I agree with you, that's exactly how I think/thought of Rafa, that's why I kept saying Xisca is Mallorca to him, because we know how fond he is of that place and she represents that sort of love and comfort he feels there, but I choose to keep an open mind. Tiger woods is a prime example that you can fool around as much as you like and be on top of your sport for years (maybe that's why he's rafa's favourite jokes . Other sportsmen too. Did you ever read the blog about benito asking a fan if she wanted to go up to rafa's room? I wonder if it really was all of rafa's doing, just benitos or whether it's the sort of thing they do regularly. Someone from rafas camp before though used to use rafa's name to get girls lol

Yeah, if Rafa is even aware of the media, not sure, but yeah if Rafa is aware of the media then its good that Federer be favorite. At some point there will probably be a courtside interview hyping up the 4 slam streak etc., so be good if Federer is favorite to subside that talk. It would be amazing if Rafa entered the AO Final as the underdog and then 4 hours later holds all 4 slams :shock:
