"With Novak the world could be his oyster," said Martin. "His physical talent is just spectacular and he has got much more fight in him than I think most people give him credit - but it is awfully difficult.

“The biggest challenge is for him to organise his mind to the point where he can be at peace with any result, any shot, any point, any game, any set, any match. And as he improves that, I think it will dictate his success.”

“Right now when he is nervous he gets a little cautious,” said the 39-year-old. “He is an incredible defender but he is a much better player when he defends when he has to as oppose to defending when he chooses.

“If he makes a conservative effort to continue to work away from those habits, 2011 should be a good year, 2012 should be a good year and onwards.”

Interesting interview a while back from todd Martin, who even back then noticed djokers physical talent and fight even though he was thought as a whimp back then.

More PED-positive maybe, hehehe...

Why is it that everyone not Federer at the top of the game "must be taking PEDs"? Federer fans really need to quit with all the false accusations, you guy lost get over it. You don't need to run down other players and make excuses.

Hey look, Lolvile. It is another Federer fan accusing Djokovic of a doping.

Oh, Wait a minute..

Nadal is the best.

He is a Nadal fan and this just drives home the point that you are utterly blind if you think only Federer fans are skeptical of Djokovic for doping.

I'm sick of these doping allegations that are being thrown about. A sure way to destroy the sport.

Maybe people wouldn't throw doping allegations about if WADA actually tried to catch the cheats(and they do exist)instead of doing just about everything in their power to not catch them. More stringent testing is needed in tennis. As it is now it is beyond pathetic, and practically useless.

More stringent testing for what? If a big tennis star fails a drug test those results won't see the light of day no matter how stringent the testing is.

You're right, but in a perfect world that sort of crap would stop. I know it won't,though. Just like they will never conduct the drug tests in a fashion that would actually catch the cheats instead of giving them a free pass to dope their brains out.

Yep, it is unfortunate but I don't see it changing any time soon. Too much $$$ involved.

Well, I don't agree with the bolded part at all. It seems obvious that Djoker has made a very conscious choice to defend and it is working well for him.

Wasn't Martin the one who screwed up his serve? Maybe his insight isn't exactly reliable.

As if the ATP would ever expose Federer or Nadal for PEDs even if they were taking something. The sport would be finished.

Uh, could be that Djokovic suddenly became a physical god, when he couldnt stand 80+ temps just the year before? Not everyone is accused of taking PEDs, you just THINK they are.

You sick already? But the freak show is just starting!!!

It's naive to think that the sport isn't currupted inside out by doping already.

We have to be glad about the great effort that those heroes put at the AO though... it was certainly an eye opener to the public eye.

Doping accusations that are thrown about without any evidence just smack of a witch-hunt. Muster constantly had those whispers against him, just like Nadal, and all because of their determined, hard, physical style of play and the fact that they got under people's skin as a result.

allegations similar to rogi dodgy's accusation that djoker was so thoughtless and ungrateful that he quit playing in the middle of federina matches.

What people have to start realizing is that we have no means to assure that elite sportsman, including elite tennis players, are in fact clean.
There are far too many signs to indicate the opposite.

The truth is, reality is much different than what people or the casual fan perceive through the usual entertainment environment or the main media outlets.

Massively naive view. Where there's money, there is doping and at the top of the sport of tennis, a lot of dollars are flying about. NFL, track and field, MLB, cycling and probably many other sports are plagued with doping and when people first learnt about Lance Armstrong doping everyone was also surprised.

Fishy occurrences like Nadal's USO 2010 serve and Djokovic's sudden rise to domination subsequent to his "diet change" are ostentatiously suspicious and I believe it is foolish to pretend to yourself that none of the top athletes take illegal PEDs. The revelations in Agassi's book concerning cover-ups by the ATP to preserve the momentum of the money-making machine that is tennis has only increased the probability that top athletes are taking drugs.

Roger wasn't given an OOCompetition test for a long time during one phase of his career. Players are tested infrequently and the testing system is extremely weak. If the system was thorough and the ATP/ITF didn't seem so willing to turn a blind eye then there would be far less suspicion surrounding the general state of tennis. As for now though, it's wholly justified.

It's just an obvious attempt by mostly fed fans to oppose the djoker era of domination but it does not work. Thank god this nonsense is confined to an obscure tennis forum and not the mainstream. Djoker is a tennis GOD right now PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Martin is the perfect one to listen too, and he is right when djoker chooses to go offensive he dominates. When he plays cautious it hurts him against fed and murray in particular.
