What was the last movie you watched?

Seth

Legend
Funny People.

People ripped on it because they expected a Billy Madison/Happy Gilmore role from Adam Sandler. It's a great movie.

I thought the exact same thing. Thought he was great in it.

Recently saw The Hunger Games. Made the mistake of listening to too many opinions, so I walked in expecting an amazing film. Was disappointed. Thought the build up to the "game" was better than the game itself.

Also saw 21 Jump Street. Loved it.

I saw the HUnger Games yesterday. IMO its pretty good but pretty bloody. The book is definitly A LOT better. Towards the end of the movie they go by events too fast. They changed things a little bit too, like in the beginning Katniss gets the mockingjay pin from the Hob but in the book she gets it from the Mayor's Daughter. Overall its a good movie but very dramatic (my sister was crying the whole movie :-?)

Has anyone seen The Hunter, starring Willem Dafoe? It's supposed to be good but not playing within 200 miles of me. :(

I rented it a month or two ago. It was pretty good actually, but if you're looking for an action-flick then you'd do well to look elsewhere. If you don't mind a movie where things aren't exploding every five minutes you might enjoy it.

" Bottle Shock" - Good movie, non fiction, about how Napa Valley came to be known as producers of good wine through a blind (wine) test w/ the French."

American Violet, story of 24 yr old woman trying to clear her name after being wrongfully accused of dealing drugs. Hard to believe this occurred in 2000. Never realized about 95 percent of all felony convictions in the United States are the result of plea bargains.

Thanks but the movie I'm talking about just opened last weekend.

I saw " Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" last night. It was highly entertaining. If you like martial art movie, this is for you. I love those special effect.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
4/5...liked it...usual MI action stuff

Underworld: Awakening
3/5 ...too dark setting for my taste (just went with friend with a big fan of the series)

i watched the birdcage on Tuesday night on AMC
hilarious movie

I'd give it a SOLID 6.7/10 (im usually harsh on movie ratings too)
robin williams is one hell of an actor, and seeing hackman in that setting was quite funny

I saw that movie years ago. It was absolutely good casting with Robin W, and Hackman in that setting. Great movie. I couldn't stop laughing for a while, especially that greek soup bowl scene.:)

Ok that's the one...thanks! For some reason rotten tomatoes had it listed as opening recently.

No worries.

Watched through The Deer Hunter and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with the girl as she hadn't seen them before (I know, I know...). Unfortunately she didn't enjoy The Deer Hunter but she redeemed herself by loving Cuckoo's Nest. :)

Tower Heist.

There seems to be a gauntlet of lesbians.

BTW Alan Alda's character announces Checkmate one move too soon.

Didn't expect crap like this with Guy Pearce in the lead role. Pearce fills in for Sly Stallone here as the rogue cop bustin' chins somewhere in a future dystopia. The pits.

limitless was awesome

Liked Limitless, but I thought the ending was kind of flat. I also thought there was a lot of unexplored potential and issues that the movie didn't cover.

Yeah, sure so maybe he goes on to become president, but what does that mean? Does he really change the world? Does he make the world better? What happens if someone else starts making and taking the drug? What if everyone had access?

Would almost like to see a Limitless 2. For all we know, he takes over the world and becomes an evil dictator.

Currently watching all the Harry Potter films, one after the other. I'm enjoying it much more than I would have thought. Currently started Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

The Three Stooges

We tried this one after the NY Times reviewer declared it entertaining. Maybe we didn't have enough wine with dinner. Very few laughs, though the scenes with the "Jersey Shore" cast were amusing. Surprising to find Larry David and Jane Lynch in the cast.

Warrior. The fighting scenes were awesome. Definitely a highlight for this year. (I didn't have the chance last year)
