Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz - Diaz, he's better everywhere
Josh Koscheck vs. Johny Hendricks- Koscheck
Alan Belcher vs. Rousimar- Rousimar by knee bar
Pat Barry vs. Lavar Johnson- Barry, just a striker v striker match and Barry's better there
Strange. I really enjoy watching college / olympic wrestling and boxing but really don't care for MMA.
I find that funny seems I have kinda lost a little interest in MMA because of the wrestlers. I dont enjoy lay and pray at all.
Agree.
It even seems with boxing and MMA are going the same way. Guys are too scared to take a chance and get KO'd. In boxing they throw jabs and hopeless haymakers. in MMA they just take a guy down and lay on him. They actually lay on the guy more than do in an actual real wrestling match it seems.
The lay and pray is so annoying.
Wish K-1 matches would return but look at the havoc, injuries, caused by all the KOs.
K-1 is returning. The guys that own the Its Showtime promotions bought it. So its coming back and I am pretty positive it will be on HDNet.
come on dude, everyone knows that's Rothwell-Schaub in that gif, not overeem-kharitonov I mean, do you see a black guy in there beside Herb Dean? Just watch the butterflies.
you need to look at the clip Shangri-La asked about
and yes, the clip you posted is the rematch where Kharitonov KO Overeem as I mentioned
Don't think there will be much lay n pray at UFC on Fox 3, certainly not from Diaz. If he's on the ground he's going for submissions. Pat Barry and Lavar are going to be throwing bombs, huge ones. Koschek hasn't been doing much wrestling in his recent fights and his opponent just scored an 11 second KO over a top 5 WW. If Palhares is on the ground, that means he's close to ripping off a limb. So ya, not much lay/pray.
ITS TIIIIIIIMMMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!
Black Fedor is sick! Totally surprised me, I thought Barnett's experience was going to give him the edge. Cormier is a monster.
Cormier is da bomb, I think i'll refer to him as "BroCop". Great fight.
I thought Thompson should've gotten the desision. Great fight.
Big Heavy Weight UFC weekend coming up! Who ya got!
Heavyweight Championship bout:
Junior dos Santos (c) vs. Frank Mir[1]
Heavyweight bout: Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Silva[1]
Heavyweight bout: Roy Nelson vs. Dave Herman[1]
Heavyweight bout: Shane del Rosario vs. Stipe Miočić[1]
Heavyweight bout: Stefan Struve vs. Lavar Johnson[1]
I sure hope JDS beats up that big mouth Mir.
On a related note, I happened to catch a few minutes of Jim Rome Monday. He had his annual Smack Off (that's Rome-speak for trash talking) on Friday - guess who won? Chael Sonnen!

JDS beats Mir by knockout, Antonio Silva knocks out Cain Velasquez, Dave Herman knocks out Roy Nelson.

Have I been wrong yet on mma predictions?
You should be up here in Vegas - JDS is a heavy favorite. I think it was 5 to 1.Not so sure on the Mir choice but I see him pulling it off for some reason.

Has anyone ever been killed in one of these events? Really brutal sport that makes boxing look like a girl's game.
Dos Santos GOATed Mir with his boxing. Best boxing in the heavy weight division and possibly the whole UFC.
Amazing the kinds of angles he was hitting and how he mixes body shots on his punches. His uppercut in particular is fantastic, you never see it coming, such is the disguise, and if it lands you can almost expect the opponent to the slippery fish once before it's all over.
Dos Santos vs Jon Jones
Make it happen.
Dave Herman will pull off the upset. Roy needs to get rid of that huge belly.

Meh. Let Jones fight Hendo and Dos Santos fight Overeem and then maybe we can start talking about that.
MMA is many times "safer" than boxing or football.
Fights are stopped immediately when one combatant cannot continue. Also, the small gloves tend to leave a lot of superficial damage.
In boxing, it is not unusual for fighters to continue in the fight after 1, 2 or even 3 concussions. In addition, boxing strikes are concentrated to the head--not so in mma.
Also, sports commissions usually suspend mma fighters for long periods after any injury, further protecting the fighter.
Take a listen to any of the top names in mma in their late 30's and 40's. They are well spoken and retain full use of their faculties. Boxers at a similar age, and football players show obvious even severe signs of head injuries.
