Loss to Tomic. Long way to travel for a first round loss.

I saw him in DC lose to Stepanek. He looked pretty disgusted that he couldn't beat this old man who had no pace.

Tomic choked the 2nd set on a sitter forehand. Made for a more dramatic 5 setter in the end.

Tomic played like complete rubbish for 2 sets. I think he had some preconceived notions about how he should play, instead of just being himself. He went into auto pilot in the third though, and it was pretty easy from there.

Verdasco is the master of self destruction. I watched this bizarre match til all hours of the morning, watching to see how bad Verdasco would play. Well, it was really bad. His game and mind need serious help.

One thing I will say about Verdasco is that although I don't like him as a player, I do like his 2hbh.

Why aren't there regulations in tennis that forbid this kind of (ugly) clothing? Seriously: in table tennis you can't wear a T-shirt with the same colour as the ball; how come in tennis you can? I realize the dimensions of the game are different, but still. That shirt was exactly the same colour as the tennis ball.

I watched the whole match. I wanted tomic to win, but at the same time, I felt bad for verdasco. I don't know how he did not close it out.

Last two points, and when he was sitting down at the end after Tomic won the match before he walked off you could actually see Verdasco physically shaking as he wiped sweat off his face/adjusted his cap/pour water on his head.

And when Tomic went to applaud the crowd the evils Verdasco's box were giving him as they walked off was quite funny too, all courtesy of Eurosport coverage.

I'd be pissed if I were Verdasco playing that pusher Tomic, seeing as how Fed was playing a crazy Russian dude.

Just watched it off my DVR. Wow. 'Twilight Zone' meets Tennis.

Think I'll watch from 5-2 in the 3rd again - just to make sure that really happened.

Verdasco.....by all accounts was a disgrace today. You rallied from down 2-5.....Congrats on winning the French......oooppps......Madrid 3rd Rd. Doing Clay Angels, multiple prayers, teary eyed, shirt off, parading the stands practically......very unprofessional in my book. Rafa will remember this..........

^Oh, he milked it and he know it. Tabasco fully expects a trip to the woodshed at Roland next month. Might be someone else, but you can count on a beating. Or something buy chokedastico, es verdad.

I see Verdasco is taking advantage of his early exit from Roland Garros to prepare for Wimbledon by playing a clay court challenger in the Czech Republic. That's the spirit, sir!

Djokovic following in his steps it would appear.

Verdasco's a beast for taking this player to 5 sets look what he's doing to Djokovic.

Seppi having a damm good year. Took Federer to 3 in Doha. Won Belgrade, beat quality players like Wawrinka in Rome. Beat Verdasco in 5, and almost took Djokovic home in 5 too.

he lost first round in prostejov to a guy ranked #1166 lol......-_-

Difficult for a top ATP player to get motivated to play unknowns in Challenger events.

Wonder why he bothered? He can't need the dosh. Maybe he just wanted a bit more match practice or maybe he just didn't want to go home yet for some reason?

I read from somewhere that he wasnt totally sure if he would make the cut for olympics so he wanted to scrap up a few points just incase...there goes that plan!! :p

This thread never fails to deliver. Verdasco fiascoed his way out of AO 2013 against K. Anderson... yes I also have never heard of him... I have heard of Verdasco being a fiasco however! :)
