This poll is a complete joke. Nole only 3 votes? Lately he has suffered some harsh defeats but he took Monte Carlo. I think that he is taking extra care of all the tournaments he wants to win. He took AO, Monte Carlo. He will come hard at RG and Cincy.

The question is will the first sets won by both Rafa and Serena in Roland Garros final be the same scores. Will Rafa and Serena practice their acceptance speeches in French together!

There's a strategic Nole tanking thread going on in case you didn't notice, even though the original had Nole tanking Madrid to win both Rome and RG.

I did not say he tanked the match. But he will get the extra motivation at RG which will drive him through.

Nadal's winning this. There is a bit of a question mark with regard to Djokovic because he's won their only encounter this year and on clay in straight sets, but he might not even make it to Nadal. If he does at best I give him a 50/50 chance. But Nadal will get really warmed up at RG so Novak will really need to avoid any Seppi/Tsonga type scares.

The draw could have a big impact. If Murray plays I expect Nadal to land in his half, if Murray doesn't then I expect Nadal to land in Fed's half. Dangerous floaters could be Gulbis, Dimitrov and Wawrinka but Wawrinka poses no threat to Nadal, only to Fed and Djokovic. Gulbis will likely go out before the 4th round anyway and unlikely he plays nadal again, but he could play one other top seed.

No way. I still think Cvac will win it, and his results in Madrid and Rome do not change that. I don't see how on earth he wouldn't considering how he is practically unbeatable in best of 5.

Djokovic-Nadal same half, Federer-Murray same half. Federer gets Ferrer in his quarter, Murray gets Berdych and gets knocked out at QF (or before that). Djokovic beats Nadal after a 5-setter who in turn gets schooled by Roger.

Hey. One can dream.

yep same old story from you. Don't blame you though it seems to be working. Whatever you say, the opposite happens, so carry on saying Nadal won't win and Cvak will win everything. The amount of fail could make a very good comedy book

If he is so unbeatable, then why is the only best of 5 event he's won for 2 years now the Australian Open?

Hey. One can dream.

Too perfect a scenario.

Try this:

Federer in Djokovic's half. Wawa and Tsonga in their respective quarters. At least 3 out of the following in the same half as Djokovic and Federer - Nishikori, Gasquet, Janoviz Monaco, Paire.

Daveeed in Nadal's half. Same as Berdych, injured Del Po and Dimitrov (not sure about that one, since he gave problems to Nadal at MC, but at the end, I decided, that he will be here, so that he can be put in Federer's or Djokovic;s quarter for Wimbledon. Or maybe he can be there for both. HArd to say)

Djokovic gets the quarter of death with early encounters with Wawa, Gulbis or Paire, then Federer and in the final Nadal.

Nadal gets the spanish lapdogs plus injured Del Po.

Final Nadal-Djokovic

Oh my god. You forgot that Djokovic has reached the finals 8 times in the last 10 slams.

and how many times has he been close to losing? Seppi, Tsonga, Wawrinka... some day those matches catch up with you and you don't get lucky. Like Nadal going 5 sets all the time at wimbledon and then eventually Rosol got him.

Lucky or not lucky, at the end of the day, he has done it.

true, but i think he might not this time. He has lost in the semis before and that could be enough to take him out before meeting Nadal.

So two losses and you lose your faith. Why do you even call yourself a djokovic fan? Its not like I am talking about fairy tales. I am also remaining realistic.

I'm just saying he might not make it to him, I didn't say I'm betting that he won't. I also said that he could beat Nadal if he meets him but he's had a patchy clay season, and season in general so I feel there's a possiblity he will lose before meeting Nadal. I suppose to be a fan I must totally dismiss the chance that the guy could lose even though his form has been up and down?

Ain't happening unless Fed gets a tough opponent in his first/second round match.

Would love to see Rafa get Janowicz early on though. :)

Would be funny if Soderling was in attendance if they do meet.

He will. The mighty could not tolerate the mad king sucking the blood of his own subjects. The real king will rise and rule, till he could pay for all the bled blood of his subjects with his own crimson red blood. The public will hail his name forever for his altruism.

Nadal vs Janowicz. Make it happen organisers, don't feed me that "randomly generated" bull!

if you hate Nadal that much then save that hoped matchup for the U.S Open, where Janowicz might actually have a chance. He will be lucky to get 8 games if they meet at RG, playing his best he cant even take a set on clay off a subpar Federer yet.

I don't get why people think Janowicz or Rosol or Raonic or whoever will be so tough for Nadal anywhere let alone RG. Most people can't trouble Nadal except as a one off and those one offs rarely come at slams. He's most likely to be beaten by Djokovic, Murray or Delpo. I don't think Federer is part of the question anymore. Maybe if Gulbis can hold his nerve or Dimitrov can raise his game another 20%

Pretty much, and DelPo and Murray being a threat of any kind is very surface dependent. Djokovic is Nadal's only true all surface threat right now.

yeah, with Murray it's got to be HC. I actually do think Delpo could trouble Nadal on all surfaces if he is really on fire, he gave him a tough match at Wimbledon 2011 despite being pretty uncomfortable on grass and also a good match on clay in DC. But you feel he can only win on a fairly fast HC. Plus he so rarely hits form that it's still a long shot anywhere, on any surface. Murray can win or lose on HC, it's hard to predict. He often gives Nadal close sets even on clay but most times comes up short when the going gets tough.

I wish I could edit the poll options. If any moderators have the power to remove the WTA players, that would be much appreciated.

OP, While you are at it, you may want to edit the poll question to "Who will be the RG runner up" as that is the only meaningful open question at this point in time :D It actually makes sense to wait till the draw is out since the runner up can only come from the subset of players in the opposite half of the draw from Nadal.

Seeing the bad performance by roger, RG organizers will never put djoker and rafa in the same half , i will bet anything on it , however if they slip rosol and gulbis in nadals draw , then we can expect an upset lol

gulbis now ranked 39 so unseeded for french..first thing i'll look for in the draw after what half rafa is in...an actual dangerous floater for once..don't think any top guy wants him early..which isn't to say they're Scared! of him as many here suggest players are of rivals, but if you can avoid him i think it will be appreciated..he also brings a lot of drama which i think the top guys prefer happen at the end of tournaments..plus gulbis' drama is much more personal

He'll probably lose to somebody like Chardy, Pablo Andujar or Guillermo Garcia Lopez or to Granollers .........

On clay u need consistency especially over 5 sets.Guys like Gulbis or Janowicz can win a set vs anyone out there but at the end of the match their errors will have a bigger impact on the match then their winners.

Sod did it because Nadal's knees gave away (same as the Rosol loss) Nadal had already been in bad shape the event before RG, which was Madrid at the time, where he lost to Fed in straights. No such problem this year. He looks physically fine.

You really hate him. There must be some reason you are telling this.

Peter, it's pretty obvious that Nole will win RG this year. Nobody wins slams for 9 years in a row. Borg, Sampras and Roger couldn't do it. Neither will *******. Nole is winning it this year. Even Stevie Wonder can see it.

Capisce?

Gulbis can beat anyone on clay at the moment, he is going to bring his best game for RG (no meltdowns) and he gave Nadal by far his toughest match in Rome and IW. Ernie to take out Djokovic/Nadal and make the final??
