Anyone been to the Prince NYC Store yet?

If you do please take copious amounts of pics of any new products.

Also, if you see Daniella there, please tell her I am deeply in love with her.

Thank you.

Just dropped by. Hantuchova and Ferrer will be there at 7pm. I will post some photos of the new racquets soon...

What is this one? It says midsize and no o-ports.

It may just be me, but I had high hopes for the Prince "relaunch." These racquets just seem unimpressive. They're just recycling the technology they had is late 80s/early 90s with the air pocket at the base of the mains. The cosmetics are uninspired and look cheap. Again, maybe they're much more impressive in person (I'll leave that to Palmerop to say) but I am disappointed.

Unlike the other brands, they're going with simplified frames so that people can actually work on their game and not their material in their racket helping them. Prince is true to its market and I love it.

I was there yesterday..They look nice.
On another note.. No player at the US open is using any of the new line that I have seen so far.. Will continue to look week 1.

Do they have any of these frames for sale or is this just a preview of the new rackets? Also, did Prince release the specs at this display? I am interested in the new Precision model similar to the racket Rafter used back in the day. Great to see it back out. If I go to the US Open this year I might stop by and check this out.

From what I know, no racquets are for sale...they will be available on October.

Yes no racquets for sale at the showroom but just one frame of each new model to see. They certainly don't look cheap. They look more "evolutionary" than "revolutionary" and that is what might leave some people disappointed. However, the string patterns alone should make then feel different enough in my opinion. There is a nice choice of weights and I am curious to demo a couple of them. I never demoed the juice 99s for instance as I thought it was too heavy for me.
The racquets look like final production grade frames and have all the specs printed on them. I'll drop by later on today to take a few snapshots.... I had to go home to take over from the nanny yesterday when I took the photos you saw... Too little time for the specs!

Yessssss the oversize returns. I screwed around with many other racquets and just kept using the POG OS.

Although I'll try the longbody for sure as well.

Stopped by today had had a nice chat with Ken on the new ESP series. The new ESP Tour is especially nice. Cant wait to pick one of those up in a few weeks.
BUT what had my interest was his mention about Princes plans to re-release most of the racquet lines from the past.

I think there's an interesting issue here... the DB throat will be hard to paint job :)

As far as the new line, I'm actually impressed. I don't change gear/frames a ton, and I've long since given up on prince, but I'm really glad to see that they're departing from a lot of their previous design decisions. Assuming they go back to a more raw feeling frame, I might actually go out of my way to demo these frames. 14x16 light weight frame is going to eat string like nobody's business. 16x16 pattern shows some experimentation in string pattern (maybe really just a copy of the steam S series).

I thought the swingweight was alarmingly low on those frames, but maybe I'm just underestimating the impact of strings on SW... The POG LB having just a hair over 300 SW is the biggest surprise peeking at the specs.

I'm not a huge fan of most of the cosmetics, but I'll reserve my final call for when I see them in person.

The Response 97 looks awesome. Love the classic cosmetic and the specs look great also. Anyone know the stiffness values on the new frames?

I still play with my Response 660 and also have a couple of Precision Response Ti and TT Warrior (they became too stiff IMO). Love the feel of classic racquets and I hope this new Prince line can bring it back to market!

I have my eyes on the Response. Looks like a PSLtd. Plus (low SW but high static weight) but not extended length. Bummer, I'd have preferred an extended length frame with EXO3 and it would've been perfect.

Nice pics. Interesting the 100 long body weighs less than the 27" on the POG...

Not really very surprising, the classic longbody was lighter -- the extra length leads to very high swing weight if the weight is kept the same :(

Does the store show are of the new gear they're going to be selling, like the bags, etc? The stuff the pros are carrying around looks really nice, but, unfortunately, I don't think they're available to the general public yet.

There were new bags and new shoes too on display but i didn't have time to take pictures. I talked to the prince staff most of the time. The were super friendly and knowledgeable.

If anyone stops in again can you ask the staff if any of the new Graphites (or any others) are foam filled?
