I would be surprised if both Ferrer and Almagro haven't defended a couple of clay court titles. And possibly a few others as well.

I thought of Almagro but he's not what I'd call a top player. I thought about Del Potro as well but his injuries have probably prevented him from defending clay titles.

That's exactly why Nadal doesn't defend hardcourt titles. Nadal is injured most years of his career on hardcourts. The fact that Nadal keeps coming back after injury (and reaching his hardcourt peak at age 27.5) is what makes him the most inspirational tennis player of all-time.

But would he have reached his hardcourt peak without a seven month break from the tour? Makes you wonder.........

Precisely. And I thought that named Murray fan was a Rafa fan as they do most of the Fed-attacking (can't keep track of everyone's favorite players on these boards).

I can't blame you. But don't blame the Rafa followers for doing the exact same thing. Just sayin.

I will unashamedly say I don't either

But when you say here name I'll probably realize ;)

Hewitt keeps drawing Australians, its like he can consequently keep proving he's the best, by beating all of them

Edit: Oh, it's Genie <3

sure - just saying, I (nor Fed fans) didn't start this (which you claimed). Turned out it was a Murray fan, who disliked Fed. Just saying

Even if the players are nice to each others, we fans, in this forum in particular, spice it up going after one another :)

yeah - no chance of there being threads about why the posters are so nice to one another:)
but as long as the 'teasing' is done in good jest

Wow... Djokovic is #1 = he gets easy draws. Djokovic is #2.. he gets easy draws. If they guy drops to like 30 in the rankings he would still end up avoiding Murray, Nadal and Federer. Lucky or rigged?

Cilic and Berdych are no match for him, we all know that the other Big 3 would be the ones likely to beat him here. Federer already has recently and we all know that Nadal/Murray are capable of going toe to toe with him. What a joke.

It would be a miracle of Davydenko let Nadal play him. Every time they are on the same side of a draw, Davyenko tanks to escape because he doesn't want Nadal to tie the h2h at 6-6.

Isn't Davy in Berdych's and Gasquet's quarter?
And I seriously doubt that he cares half as much about that h2h as we do - nor that he fears Nadal on HC enough to even consider tanking

If that's the case, Davy wouldn't mind facing Nadal as he needs to reach finals. I am sure he will take that, at this point in his career :)

Here's an IQ test for the poasters here-

Which accomplishment is least impressive?

a) DEFENDING A HARDCOURT TITLE
b) Beating Federer 3 times at AO and beating Djokovic twice at USO
c) Winning 2 USOs and an AO
d) Winning 3 hardcourt Masters events and USO in 2013

I'm sure Davydenko didn't do it in Doha in 2011 when he was in crap form and still destroyed Nadal. Davydenko doesn't give a **** about h2h's, only you do.

Do people really think the draws are rigged??!! A Nadal fan here and while tis an awful draw that is the just the way it goes.

Also the draws never quite work out the way people think! People on this forum constantly get all rattled byt the draw and then it just never turns out the way!

We'll see. Dimitrov had to play a close match to beat Dulbis last time they met.

I don't think Dimitrov's game matches up well against a big hitter 'in the zone'. This is probably true for most 1hbh players. The positive side of this is, Dimitrov didn't know how to ride out the high level segment in his opponent's matches before. He now seems to have found the concentration level and confidence to be consistent when it matters most. 5 straight TBs won is nothing to sneer at imo.

My guess is their meeting will be all about energy levels. If the Acapulco win left Dimitrov emotionally drained, he could be on the receiving end of a straight set defeat.

Hewitt has Ebden, Anderson, Youzhny then Wawrinka, Before what would most likely be Fed, then Nadal

I think he can get too Stan.

I quite like the fact that Murray has a hard draw. He tends to get more fired up from harder draws than from easier ones. I'm looking forward to seeing his semi-final with Nadal.

Both Murray fans and Nadal fans crying about hard draws. Yeah poor Murray, has the potential to play Nadal for the first time since 2011.

And Nadal only has to worry about Murray, what a hard draw.

When I see Rafa's draw all I can say is bring it on. Rafa loves the IW courts and I love epic matches. Why would I want to see him play a bunch of losers?
