I predict Nadal will slide one too many on his dodgy knees while getting to a dropshot close to the end of the first set. This will occur while Nole is up 40-15 on his serve. Rafa's knees will then blow out with a loud popping sound and he will have no option but to retire. The King's streak will live on!

Even though I was kinda rooting for mooray I initially wanted Djoker in the final so Rafa can finally defeat him. So VAMMMMOOOSS RAFA YOU CAN DO THIS

This is too funny! babbette, don't you think you are getting a little violent? Firing at poor Nole with that BB gun?

If he won, it wouldn't surprise me at all, he's playing THAT well. It's ridiculous.

Really?? Come on! This is Rafa, this is clay, like real clay! And after all is said and done, He had an insanely tough match today, if he's not the least bit tired, there is something fishy there. Rafa, always plays his best in finals. I will be very surprised if he lost tomorrow.

Rafa, please, please disappoint MichaelNadal. I know I can count on you!

The French Open is the most important one. Keep your eye on the bigger picture. Djokovic is going to come under more and more pressure the longer this streak goes on. I remember Nadal saying after the 2007 Hamburg final that he was relieved that his clay-court streak wouldn't dominate his French Open preparations. It becomes more and more of a burden the longer such a streak goes on.

Rafa will win. If Murray could take a set, and even serve for the match, surely Rafa can reel him in. After all, Belli almost took him out, too.

Nadal fans have been using that excuse (among others) for years. Surely Djoker fans won't stoop to plagiarism.

TMF is no Djoker fan. He just walks around teaching people a lesson in being moral and fair. That once you are on court, if doesn't matter if your arm is broken, you can make no excuses. Now he's saying the SAME stuff. That's what's hilarious. I don't care if people make so called "excuses". Because they are just facts. You just can't pretend to be fair and righteous and then flip sides.

You can't just pretend to say "you play who you get" and then only apply it to specific players. Oh wait, you can in Nadal world.

What are you talking about? I'll say what actually happened. The fact remain is Nole will only have 17 hrs to recovered after a marathon match. If you can't agree, too bad. And as for the "flip sides", I've already told you that Nadal had more rest then Fed at the WTF. He played his semifinal first, Roger played his match 6 hrs AFTER Nadal's match was completed. So in both incidence, Nadal had more time to rest.

Uhm, are you reading what I wrote? Or are you just assuming I am saying what you think I'm saying? My point is, if you are gonna make excuses for players other than Nadal, then you can't criticize Nadal fans when they mention fatigue or illness. You are nothing but a hypocrite if you do.

Fed's semi was a joke. I believe he had also had an extra day before the semis. Fact is, when Nadal fans "stated facts" everyone were being huge *******s and saying oh, don't BS about Rafa being tired. So effing what if Fed beat a tired Rafa? That's life and that's tennis. Why didn't Djoke finish Murray off quickly? His fault for not being able to close out the match faster. Same goes for Rafa at the WTF. Not like he didn't have chances to keep that match with Murray short, but he couldn't do it. So if he showed up to the final tired, not really Fed's fault.

I remember people saying the same line you did earlier regarding Nole. It was a FACT that Nadal had a tough semi, and it's a FACT that Nole had a tough semi. It's a FACT that Murray's elbow was hurt in Monte Carlo when he played Nadal. You accept these things. Except you and other Fed fans would have none of that. Sure Nole will probably be tired tomorrow, but if Rafa wins tom and you put an asterisk in front of that win, then go back and put one in front of Fed's win at the WTF as well.

LOL Nadal was never beating Federer at the WTF even if he had won his semifinal in a double bagel, and I say that as a Nadal fan. Federer was completely dominant in that event, Nadal did well to get a set somehow, especialy with indoors being his worst surface.

It will come down to how confident Nadal will be, we all know Novak has confidence and self believe in SPADES at the moment; he will go for his game no matter what.

Nadal is called the King of Clay for a reason - his peak game on clay is something that Novak has/and probably will never achieve.

All will depend on how Nadal executes..He better finish what Murray started. - and do it in dominant fashion because Djokovic IS most definitely at a considerable disadvantage given his court time.

If Novak makes the match competitive, he should consider it a mental victory over Nadal and proof of some mental damage done to the Spaniard ahead of the F.O.

The result is not what I'm arguing here. Please let's not go down that road. Fed won, nuff said. I'm annoyed with double standards.

Quoted for truth. But there's never an asterisk to their hero.

Why did Nole play a marathon ? Why not finish it off in 2 easy like with Soderling ? Why not do what Rafa did with Gasquet ? This is the same Murray who Joker whipped at the AO, right ?

On the other hand, Federer played a tough match against Nalbandian in 2006 at the same tournament (almost 3 hours) and he was very close beat Rafa in a 5 hours match in the final.
So maybe Djokovic does have a chance.. :-?

You can't count him out at all. Novak is on a winners high, and he will recover well me thinks. Nadal will still have to play an amazing match. No room for error, because Novak will want to get this over as soon as possible. First set is keyy.

Re Fed, I didn't watch that match, but aren't Fed's matches less physical than what went down yesterday? Maybe it wasn't as tiring?

Maybe, but I'm sure it wasn't easy. And if there were shorter rallies, then why did it take almost 3 hours?

No, this is the new Muurya. We saw him already in Monte-Carlo when he almost took Rafa out, despite being totally crippled with an arm in a pharmaceutical sling.

I like it, Senti, how you are so rattled by Djokovic. :)

Not rattled. I absolutely loooove his chest beating, swinging from trees, taking off his shirt and dancing on the street, and most of all the obscene gestures made in public by him and his coach and team.

You are right about Murray, all that bog snorkeling has toughened him (as i had once opined). He will now go down in history as the one who almost beat all the GOAT's and influenced all finals.

He played almost 40 matches within 4 months and got 3 really tough clay opponents day by day, Nole himself in interview said that in second set his legs were letting him down.

And go figure whether Gasquet is in league of Murray or Soderling. Hell, even Wawrinka is a higher seed.

Oh yes, Nole is the primary primate, the big ape, the king of the kongs. He's no bleeding farmer's boy munching away on cereals. He's gorging himself on red meat, probably mostly raw and rare and bloody as hell.

As to his chest thumping: "This is what it means to him", as the commentators usually say.

I seriously think Andy is on the right track. Yes, he had a lapse with his double faults at a critical junction in the match, but he is getting better. Wimbledon is within sight. Roger is out of the equation. Rafa and Nole will tire each other out physically and mentally. The Wimbledon trophy is Andy's for the taking.

Fed's semi was a joke.

So was Nadal's here.Gasquet played a good 1st set but completely went away in the the 2nd.

I believe he had also had an extra day before the semis.

No he did not.

Fact is, when Nadal fans "stated facts"

In both the case of 2009 Madrid and last year's WTF Nadal fans weren't really stating facts, many of them were saying that Nadal's fatigue was the one and only reason Fed beat Nadal(especially in the case of 2009 Madrid)which is more of a speculation than anything.

everyone were being huge *******s and saying oh, don't BS about Rafa being tired.

You weren't really here during 2009 Madrid were you? Nadal fans were saying the following things:

-Nadal-Novak was the real final.
-Fed should send Novak his prize money.
-It would be embarrassing for Fed if he lost to a dead tired Nadal.
-See you at FO *******s,we'll see who'll be crying then(that turned out well didn't it?).
-Fed can only beat a tired Nadal.
-Nadal tanked the final.
-Madrid is played on red HC.

Etc. etc. etc. The amount of whining was ridiculous.

Now a very similar situation appears and Nadal fans suddenly seem to have the problem with people making "tired" excuses for Novak? How so? Does Nadal have some kind of monopoly over fatigue excuse? He who is supposed to be the fittest player on tour, please.

What goes around, comes around.TMF is no doubt a fanboy and a hypocrite but he didn't start all this "xy player is tired therefore result is invalid" nonsense,Nadal fans did.

2010 WTF and this year's Rome are hardly comparable situation.First of all Nadal had significantly more time to recover for the final than Novak does here.Second in the final Nadal was facing a guy who is almost 30 and who played way more tennis in the weeks heading into WTF than him, compared to Novak who is facing Nadal at his peak, quite a difference.

Sure Nole will probably be tired tomorrow, but if Rafa wins tom and you put an asterisk in front of that win, then go back and put one in front of Fed's win at the WTF as well.

He doesn't need to,Nadal fans already did it for him,not just for 2009 Madrid and 2010 WTF but also for matches like 2007 Hamburg and Wimbledon final.

Oh and BTW if Nadal beats Novak it is well deserved,it ain't his problem whether Novak is tired/sick/injuried/didn't sleep well/whatever,he can only do his job and try his best to win the final.

I think many circumvent around the fact that The King had three straight weeks off after Miami. That's a long time with all things considered. Nadal, Federer and Murray haven't had that sort of time off tennis entirely.

Zagor is back? Been a long time. ;)

Well pointed out! Nadal has had some injuries and its nice to see him injury free :)
If only Novak didnt retire every time he got out of breath :(

i just showed you that pics, not to make fun out of Rafa, but to show you that it's stupid to laugh at someones injuries and physical problems.

Rafa is/was physicaly stroner than Nole (and most players) but that doesn't make him better.. It's maybe just luck to be born like that and to be out of injuries for long time.

so don't act like little kid, and enjoy in tennis.

When did i laugh at Novak's injuries?
I was pointing out that Novak doesn't have the best track record with fitness especially when its hot. He has on a number of occations retired when tired and losing.
