Italian Open, or Rome Masters, features the best players at the Foro Italico in Rome. The tournament is one of the three ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events contested on clay, but the event is more than just tennis; it is a total entertainment experience. Nadal is the favorite and most probably will win it.He will probably meet Thiem at the QFs - want to see how Thiem does especially after yesterday match

Yeah, I guess that was what happened last year. He played great one match then lost to Djoko 01 next match.

Yeah maybe, but Thiem has been playing some really good ball as of late. His level against Nadal yesterday was unbelievable.

I know...but Nadal is favourite for any clay event he enters (perhaps Madrid is the one exception.) Thiem might win it, but he’s still a punt even if it does come off.

Nadal is fit, has just come off 50 consecutive clay sets won, is leaving the faster Madrid conditions behind and is the greatest clay player of all time. Thiem might win it but Nadal is the obvious favourite, as he will be for RG.

Anyone saying otherwise is entitled to of course, but they’re guessing and hoping to get lucky. Smart money: Nadal. Always Nadal on clay.

Rafa is the single most favorite to win, but I don't think he does. I think he's going to lose unexpectedly in an early round.

It is possible that he wont be able to win Rome. The last time he won the title was in 2013 - 5 years ago.He was very dominant from 2005 to 2013 there but since then not so much.

No I think Nadal is the obvious favourite. But a few players can beat him if they’re goating like Thiem was.

Yep. But maybe it’s best so he’s fresh for FO.

Yeah. This is what why he didnt win it the last year,After winning MC,Barcelona and Madrid. But this year he didnt win Madrid so he can win Rome.Nadal have only twice managed to win both Madrid and Rome in the same year - 2010 and 2013.

Yeah, and if he wins Rome he’ll be back in nr1 spot too I think.

Can't believe Rafa last won it 5 years ago.

Yeah, Rome has become his weakest big clay event in recent years. Now that he's bombed out of Madrid, I wonder if he will make a renewed effort to start winning Rome again and get the #1 title back quickly or is he just going to pace himself until RG?

Yeah, but as long as he’s winning FO it’s fine.

You know what? I don't think Nadal should worry for one minute about Rome. He should focus all of his energy on trying to win the big enchilada, RG. Let Thiem try and win Rome.

But I'm sure Nadal will go all out and try and win Rome and he probably will win it.

I can't even vote in this poll. I have no idea who will win it. I cannot see Nadal winning Rome. He hasn't done it in such a long time. Zverev and Del Potro are on a collision course and that match is a toss-up to me. I see really funky, junky players in this draw tripping up next-gen players as well as old guard players.

No idea who is going to win, but I think this tournament is going to be full of fun surprises. At least I hope it does.
