Depends on which version of himself the GOAT decides to come out as.

ChokeError: Nole in 2
********: Nole in 3
Federer: GOAT in 3
Goderer: GOAT in 2 easy sets

Djokovic 1.5 is the strongest player on tour right now, regardless of the fact that he is #1.

I do not think he will get a walkover, but he should prevail unless Federer brings his A-game, similar to 2011 or 2010. The surface and conditions make it possible for Federer to snatch a set.

Djokovic in 3 if Fed is serving well. Djokovic in 2 otherwise.

I hope to be proven wrong, of course. Winning the tour finals SEVEN times is not something we, or our children, will ever witness again.

So did federer!

Fed lost a match. Djoko didn't. This being said, I have only 1 wish: not as one-sided as Cincy. That one ended before I even realized it had started. It's bad enough the final is not a best of 5 as it should, we don't need to end the year with a non-match.

Novak: "But knowing it's the last match of the season, I'm really going to try to give my best physically and mentally tomorrow to eventually try to get the trophy.”

Unlike the rest of the season, when he doesn't usually give his best.

Don't play dumb. The rest of the season, you know you have to keep some reserve. The last match, one can go all out.

Attempt to jinx Fed. No matter, Nole is simply better and more stable in his overall game these days. He doesn't go up & down like Fed. You know Nole is going to be in every point.

One thing I noticed in the semis was Fed's forehand lacked punch until that 3-2 point in the tiebreaker when Fed won it with back to back I/O forehands. After that, his forehand was its usual fearsome self.

Last year, the Finals started on a Sunday and ended a week later, on a Sunday. I think it's either that Ferrer had to play the Paris final or perhaps some ATP scheduling quirk. Either way, the schedule is the same, but it's Mon-Mon.

What are we going to do when Fed's gone? We need a new Fed, and I don't mean BabyFed.

I hope Novak wins, but I'm not holding my breath. Fed is just way too good here. Novak's really going to have to bring it to get the win.

I was just reading through Fed's post match interview after his loss to Delpo and found this hilarious.

Q. We don't know who you will play tomorrow yet, but there's a good chance it will be Andy.
ROGER FEDERER: Depends on how you view it and how much you respect people.

LOL is all I have to say.

Well the journalist was basically counting Tipsarevic out, since any Ferrer win would have meant Fed plays Murray. I think Fed was just trying to say that you never know!

Oh, that's a nice response from Federer. He may be arrogant, may also be a sore loser at times, but he's very respectful of all players.

Yes but we sure don't want to see our delicate flower, Mr. Federer get injured, straining himself in the long 5 set year ending final, do we ?

Fed won it multiple times even when it was best of 5. They changed it to best of 3 to help the original delicate flower who is perennially nursing injuries win it at least once. So far it hasn't paid off unfortunately :(

For the record, but I know both of you are just kids endlessly trolling to let out your frustration, guess who has been saying over the last few years that the Masters' final should go back to best of five?

I'll let you do your own research, but as I'm feeling generous today, I'll give you two hints--it's the same guy who asked for his tests to be kept for eight years so they can be tested again. And it's also the only current top player who won the Masters when it was best of five, ie before the 'delicate flowers' who threaten boycott when the conditions are not 100% to their liking despite having a tour wholly suited to their game grew into their own (but then, he's almost the only current top player who ever managed to win it, so his name should be easy to find out...)

Edit: in fact, he said it again yesterday, in his post-match interview. Now I guess you really have no excuse... ;)

Veroniquem's love for best of five is because she thinks Roger has more chances of losing in Best of five format. Funny thing is that if all the masters were in best of five the delicate flower who is already having kneee issues playing nine best of three masters an year would have retired long back

Great smackdown. Ouch.

Djokovic should sneak by in Obama-like fashion in 3, if Federer shows up and makes it a match, which he hopefully does.

Some good answers there. Nice to know I wasn't the only one feeling bad for Ferrer.

Q. You touched on it briefly, but do you feel a bit of sympathy for David Ferrer?
ROGER FEDERER: Yes.

Q. Quite an odd situation for a player.
ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I was thinking more about David than I was thinking about Andy and Novak, to be honest. I really wanted to give him a chance and give myself the best possible preparation for the semis, really hoped I could win. Not that I prefer David over Juan Martin, no, not at all. I think he's had a stellar season. For me was anyway a given I was going to give my very best. But more disappointed for him than I am about losing today, to be quite honest.

I loved that statement. Classic guy

I think roger got lucky today. because Andy was dominating the match for good 1 set set

Yep...Roger just gets "lucky"...it's amazing how "lucky" he has been over his career...like A LOT...it takes more than 1/2 a set to win a match (unless of course you play stage 3 red foam ball tennis?).
