Sign me up baby.

Forget how much tennis is part of my life until we have these times when there is no tennis. Need the penguin in to fill my void while we wait until next season.
Ditto. Tennis boxing and b ball are my favs. Wilder vs the Gypsy King this weekend. Hope it is not a dud. Hate when there is no top level tennis. The Void!

I'm hyped for the fight. It is one of those that seemed to come out of nowhere. Have to see if Fury has magic powers to be able to pull this one off. Wilder has to connect with a big shot once then we see what happens. Heart is with the gypsy king. :p

TGK has all the skills while wilder has the power. The long layoff might be what gets Fury in trouble in the later rounds. Wilder has horrible technique. Low left, feet all over the place, leads with his chin, etc. Going with what teddy atlas said wilder late knockout. But fury might just win a decision.

haha Teddy Atlas is like one of the eager posters on talk tennis. Always ending up wrong with their prediction. This makes me more confident for Fury.

Yeah, I'm going along with the Fury tiring at some point. We should see what that mandible is made of.

Interesting that the final is between two Chinese men. I don't think a Chinese man played in the main draw of a grand slam for the last two or three years.

I saw a few points of this.. I didn't even know this was a way to qualify. I just assumed there was qualifiers the week before the slam.

What if Sasha Zeverev meets Stepano Titsipas ?? new favorite Sasha might have problem with this and may not be able to win the aussie open ...

I honestly think we'll finally have a new winner here. I have no clue who it will be, but I don't think Novak/Rafa/Roger will be standing on the winner's platform. It won't be Zverev, but it will be someone new. Hope it's Murray (and yes, he's new, since he's never won the AO before).
i party agree. you never can count out djokovic,he is a big favorite for me.to beat him at a grand slams is twice as hard as on a masters.... so :) mark my words

Have to agree with @BeatlesFan .

When Djokovic is in form, he is a tough nut to crack. Fed needs to dial back to 2017/ 2012 form to have a chance against him. Hence we can discount Fed easily. Nadal is injury ridden and it maybe a 2014 story for him. Good chance for Djoko, but he is showing his age slowly and it's a matter of one slip against the young guns. Murray could have 'Fed AO 17' moment. But the young guns have finally arrived which was not the case for Fed at AO 17.

A big ? really.

I'd like to see a Murray-Karen final with Andy winning. Then Karen then officially announce to the tennis world, "I'm here to stay!" But Andy can finally then claim an AO title.
I remind, that without Lendl's psychic support Andy didn't win any GS tournament. I understand you are dreaming, but this dream will on the AO 2019 dissipate in the 2nd or 3rd round ...

Imagine losing an Australian Open final to Murray.

Going where no man has gone before.

He'd be the next Neil Armstrong

So far Jack Sock, Jo Wilfred Tsonga, Li Zhe and Jason Kubler (Aus) have wild cards by one method or another.
Wild Card play offs can be viewed on You Tube

In the last two years, Djokovic was absolutely no factor at the AO.

Yet we still had Federer winning it back to back and Nadal reaching one final (stopped by injury the second time).

So if anyone wants to tell me none of the Big 3 is gonna win it, you’re delusional.

I want to tell you that Mury Goat and there's a strong need to re-establish of Mury/Rafi to re establish their dominance on the RU spot.

Murray’s not winning AO 19 with such little tennis behind him. He’s no Federer after 6 months out. That was just insane. Those suggesting Murray has a chance are just being Nostalgic after losing 5 times in the final.

Where is Rafa now with training post ankle surgery? Could put him back in terms of training full pelt.

Also how are the new Dunlop balls reacting on this medium fast plexicushion surface? Been watching some of the clips from the qualifying and it looks like they play fast.

I reckon a new Gen will get to the final, but just fall short against a more experienced 29 plus player.

What do peeps think of conditions in qualifying for a wildcard as indicators of the main tournament in January? Fast? Don’t know if they are using the new Dunlop balls? Would make sense if they are now they are the AO official ball sponsors.

I'm all in for new winners but I hope it doesn't become like WTA where random players ranked 65 win and are never heard of again.

It now or never for Nick Kyrgios to make it past the 2nd round! Otherwise, he will probably give up on the AO! Sort of like Sampass with the FO!
