You are of the completely wrong assumption that it is a rare occurrence for players to have to play on day one after they decide to play the direct lead up event

If you want to blame something I would suggest blaming the second Sino-Japanese War
Its a rarity on ATP tour and I watch, of course many winners have byes in the next event so a nonevent in those cases. I'm pretty sure Vienna tried to screw Dimitrov one year (Thiem factor) and he simply withdrew.;)

I heard some rumor mill discussion and I heard the halves went in the order because Zedrot was nursing injury and they wanted to give him extra day; @Red Rick approved move. Zverev no longer NextGen it appears and getting some Fraudo corruption going his way.:-D

All these guys still alive including King Fritz.

And what happens if Seppi and ADM were in different half ? And this could have happened with Auckland as well. What are the organizers supposed to do ? The only thing is they could have been scheduled for the last match of the day
Apparently the did the "right thing" and rigged the schedule for an injured Zedrot.:sneaky:

Chung-Klahn 6:7(5), 6:7(5), 6:3, 6:2, 2:2
Chung may take the first time in his career turned from 0:2 on the sets.
WOW,, Chung vs Klahn match is the best match of the tournament..... super close. Chung had 3 break points in 5th set and didn't convert. but held strong in next game.... They are both serving great

why is this racist ?
Amazingly (despite apparent fine level) Auckland finalists both gone. Sandgren loses and Norrie got smoke by Fritz. I thought Sandgren was more your garden variety homophone based on some texts from College, but apparently he's expanded his game though no one has offered much evidence beyond these somewhat youthful indiscretions. Worst things I've seen are Medvedev over the line with Young in Savannah though the Donald was quite forgiving. And then we have the reverse with Young and GF making some dangerously false accusations against Ryan Harrison at New York Open in 2018. But heh I'm all ears on Sandgren's latest discretions, but nobody wants to provide the beef (links).

Fans cheering Klahn errors like crazy.
Not sure what happened there......... but Klahn made 2 very very easy unforced errors on short duck shots at 30-30 and gives away the match to Chung. It sounded like they were playing in Seoul Korea....LOL. but I think that back injury to Klahn did him in.

Chung needs to keep flying under the radar so he's on small courts with 90% rabid Korean contingent. I'm not sure I've ever heard a more lopsided crowd outside of Davis Cup.:D
Yep that's as bad as it gets. If they could all get tickets to a big court, I think they'd still be a factor as devoted as they were.

You gotta love the Shapo forehand. He puts absolutely everything into it. It reminds me of when prime Fed used to just explode into the ball.

When you wake up in Europe, watch the results, see "retired" in the match featuring Nishikori, and you realise it's the other guy:

The worm has turned apparently for Injurkori; If both Nadal and Nishikori rehabilitate to around 50% by USO, it could make for a spectacular final there.

Great comment, but I'll need some highlights to think prime Fed is even close to Shapo gone wild.
