Forget 0,0... will the 3.0 even win a point?
if he double faults
Forget 0,0... will the 3.0 even win a point?
Who is this Bruch character? Is he any good? Anybody???
That is Uhhh-GLY. What was he thinking?! Just the difference between one level is a lot. Some people have blind optimism. When reality sets in, they realize they never worked at improving, but only wanted the instant gratification of winning. And um, that ain't enough...
I couldn't believe it when he did it the first time, but the second????
My friend Austin played his first tournament....ever, a few weeks back. He enlisted in the open event at a Chillicothe, OH event. Austin is a total beginner, but could maybe compete in a 3.0 event and maybe win a match (he's not very good, but he's a beginner...so he does have an excuse).
Where do you guys take your rating?
A beginner is never more then 1.0-1.5
A beginner would have no chance against a 3.0 player. Would end 0-0.
I consider 2.5-3.5 beginner, 3.5-4.5 intermediate, 4.5+ advanced.
Ratings for players start at 2.5, if you can play a set, you are at least 2.5

True rating systems don't work this way.
1.0 - 2.5 - beginner
3.0 - 4.0 - intermediate
4.5 - 5.0 - advanced intermediate (could be teaching)
5.5 + advanced
or something like that... at least in Canada it's that way....
Man, your video taking skills need a lot of improvements. Why can't you use a tripod? Your screen is shaking constantly, making it very uncomfortable to watch. Just a comment.
yeah, just rewatched the vids... i wonder if he got the point this time around??
Agreed. A player who can actually play a set or knows the fundamentals of the swing and can hold a rally is at least a 2.5. I'd say Austin is a 3.0...although...in the next tourney we'll truly know...lol...as he should be entering in the 3.0 event like he said.
At least in N.Y., your friend would get eaten alive in Men's 3.0 USTA leagues.
He had to have the natural gut, solid core multi-filiment hybrid job, because he heard that TnT was one of the most durable strings made to go with his gut mains.
The videos won't work!! NOOO!!!
I don't know many 3.0 players who are string breakers, but lots of time it is easier to just give them what they want.
J
Much easier. This guy creeps me out, he's like a serial killer in training.
Maybe the good ole partying days has finally got the best of him.
TennisDarren, I need two new string jobs on my new Wilson nCode 95's (not the K's). I'm making a switch to from my Bab Pure controls to the Wilson. So, I'll probably sell my entire deal as one package here pretty soon. Maybe I can convince Austin that he'll be able to compete in the open tourney's with these things and sell them to him!!!...lol. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. lol.

To Duzza: are you sure you're watching the correct match? It's NOT the one right in front of the camera. Watch the match on the far side. And yea, the guy in the white shirt is 3.0 being talked about...Man the guy was basically GIVING the 3.0 the chance to win the points...
BR
I was well scared when I saw that vid.
I was thinking "Damn, if that dudes a 3.0, Then I my American rating is gonna SUCK!!"
then I saw it was the dude in the background, and order was restored.
How good is the guy in the foreground? Ratings wise?
