Any Yonex VCORE 95 players? Loving this racquet

Love this stick more and more everyday. I’m almost done w my demo and I really don’t want to part with it. I feel like I can throw darts all over the court. Sure it’s harder to hit the deep ball compared to my Babs PS but it’s such and beautiful playing racket. And great quality too !

How many yon 95 ers do we have on here? What do you all string it w and what tension. If i pull the trigger on one I’m thinking rough poly around 50.

Ps/ if anyone is looking to sell one.....

Yep, like it a lot. Gut/poly at 53/50 or poly tour strike at 48. Leather grip and some lead at 3&9. It still feels a little muted though. I have the older Sv95 as well and I actually still prefer it. I actually think gloss paint feels way better in hand than the Matt finishes Yonex has switched to. I guess I need one of Shapo’s all red glossy paint jobs, that red in gloss looks really really good on Tv :)
Vcore Pro 310 modded with same strings still has was better feel though. I switch a bit....

I tried this frame and really enjoyed it. Waiting to get a grip 5 version of this sent to me. What I liked about it the most was the 62 RA. At the time when I was testing this frame I was also testing the Volkl V feel 10's ( 320 & 300) and really appreciated the silky softness of the Yonex which actually served to highlight how much Volkl had departed from the flexible frames they used to make, hopfully they can get back on track with their next range or the 10 Mids if they get released sometime this year.

There's quite a few of us on the Yonex thread. I'm using it with a leather grip and originally had some lead tape but I took it off. I've strung it with Yonex Poly Tour Strike, Isospeed Cream, ALU Power, ALU Power Feel, and ALU Power Soft. The latter is my favorite. But now I need to find the right tension. I've tried 45 but need to bump it up as ALU has more pop that your average poly.

This racquet is my first real love when it comes to racquets. My honey moon period is stretching to over a month now. I have tried a few string setups (Tourbite 17/PTFire 17, Diadem Flash 1.25, and 49/46lbs) and BEAR CLAW 1.24 is unreal in this racquet. I also have 7g at 12 o'clock and 7g wrapped from top down under the grip. Debating on if I should go leather grips on all of them, but I don't really wanna drop the cash.

do u have flame red or galaxy version? has anybody tried them side by side? I feel like black version plays softer but not sure if it’s just in my head

There is no galaxy black version for the vcore 95, only 98 and 100.

Vcore 95D player here but I also had a hit with the new 95. I won’t make a comparison as they are totally different sticks, but if it wasn’t for my 95D’s then the new 95 is the only other Yonex I’d go with!

About to test one, currently playing with the Wilson ultra tour gut/poly hybrid. Was reading online that its a tad more comfortable and a bit more power than the UT plus the 16x20 which is what I'm looking for. Previous version didn't convince me. Will report back.

Hit with it for the first time today on a demo. I'll be owning one soon. The best Yonex I've ever hit with.

Love my Vcore 95s. I get them strung at 46 lbs and have tried Cyclone 17 or 18, Hex Soft 17, Hex Ultra 17, Poly Tour Spin 17, RPM Team, and a couple of others I'm unsure of (from my other rackets). Cyclone and Hex Soft get a nice deep pocketing after a hitting session or two. I love that, but most don't it seems. The Hex Ultra holds tension great otoh, as well as RPM Team. PTS is somewhere in the middle.

Pleasantly surprised by the VCORE 95. I played the previous version and it did not play anything like this one.
I play an UT leaded with 3g at 12 and 2 on 3&9 each with a gut/poly hybrid strung at 50/48. Today I had a training session with a VCORE 95 I bought second hand with a multi/poly hybrid at unknown tension and I felt, and was also told by my coach, that my balls were faster and heavier with the 95. I also felt it on the serve and was able to generate more pace. In general the VC95 was easier to move, more comfortable and had noticeable more power. In favour of the Ultra Tour it has more control, slices are better and is more stable but I suppose I can fix that on the 95 with lead. Normally full pace smashes or volleys gives me a slight pain on my hand with the UT but did not have the problem with the VC95 which means comfort is top notch as it does feel muted. Will try to get it strung with my usual gut/poly hybrid before I hit again later this week. I still very much like the control in the UT but I was in dire need of a bit more power and I'm always seeking more comfort with my dodgy hand and wrist. I need to test a frame for a few months in order to change but it looks promising.

I just bought the 2018(?) reissue of the 6.1 95 18x20, and after hitting with it today (prestrung w/ sensation), I have to echo the comments about the resemblance with the Vcore 95. Both my Vcore 95s are customized with about 3g @12, but with different weight just above the handle, as I found out this makes the rackets swing easier and be more stable at contact without getting sluggish. One is getting restrung, so I compared the 6.1 95 to the one of the two Vcore 95 with the most weight at the neck (about 7-8g). The Vcore was more solid, but I was amazed of how similar they were. The 6.1 had less pop due to the strings and lower SW, and has a lower trajectory. The VCore 95 is a must try for 6.1 95 lovers not able to get hold of the recents reissues.

Makes sense. I had the same thoughts on the Vcore 95D when I got that one.

I'm really loving my VCORE 95 a lot these days! I haven't had a racquet with this much control since my old RDX-500 Mid. Right now I've got a full bed of Hyper-G 1.20 but have been thinking about going to a gut/poly hybrid to get a little more power. Think I'm going to try Lux gut 1.25 mains with Max Power 1.20 crosses. Any recommendations on tension?

I have mine strung with Weiss Cannon Red Ghost around 50lbs with leather grip and 3G total distributed at 3, 9 , and 12. I plan on getting a two more when they drop in price.... Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

Ha, I actually ordered Hyper G at 1.20mm as well. I've been using RPM blast at that guage which is great but the reel price is way too expensive. You string at high 40s right?

Playing a while with this frame now, def. one of the best feeling rackets I have ever tried. Safe to say it is in the S tier in regard to feel and comfort if you compare it to the other rackets currently on the market imo. Just a shame the TW is pretty low. It is not that stable tbh, a Prestige MP is a more solid frame in that department.

I seem to struggle with my backhand slice on this racquet. Would lead tape at 3 and 9 help? I currently have only 2g at 12 (countered at the handle).

For sure, would make it more stable and reduce any twists at contact, at least 2grams on each side, 3grams are ideal for me (in addition to 2grams at 12). I also tried 1 gram on 6, that alsk helped a lot especially with slices.

Yes at 6, but in combination with weight on 3/9/12.. makes the hoop more stable and powerful overall from all sides..

No, I have a 95D and now I will also have a VC95 (2018). I do also have the G360+ Speed Pro (Black) ;)
Ahh nice I have all 3 as well. 95D might be my best performing racquet but it’s not gentle for my arm. Was wondering how do you like the speed pro? Ik like it in groundstrokes but not on serves..

I'm liking it so far. Had 2 hits with it, but have not served extensively with it in a match. Served with my friend's 360 SP and that went well. The real test will come when I'm serving in a match and seeing how many come back etc. Sorry.

I've only had it for a week or two, but we've had all this crazy rain, so I have not had much chance to play with it.

When it comes to the 95D, I would have prefered a slightly lower RA, but it's manageable.

The new 2021 Vcore 95 is slightly more firm but still comfortable also being slightly muted..its more stable too (similar mods on both for 5-6 grams on hoop), but doesnt have the feel and solidness of the 2018 version..for now I am keeping both

That's why I got the 2018 version (on sale too). I prefer a plusher feel and lower RA (not a total noodle though), and I can work on the SW, TW, and sweet spot size. It has plenty of room for customisation, so something will get worked out.

I do have the Speed Pro as well (black). It is a lovely racquet. It loses out to the Gravity Pro for me by a small margin. It was serving that I found worked better for me with the Gravity Pro than with the Speed Pro.

Yeah, I have the Gravity Pro as well and I like the feel better, but my SP came pre-strung with a black string, so it may not be a fair comparison at this point. Once I have both strung with the same string and tension, I will be able to judge things more easily.

I don't want to derail the Yonex thread though with racquets from other brands, and I'm looking forward to getting the VC95 and customising it to my liking, and seeing what it's made of.

Yes, 2021model and the BP are currently duking it out for top spot. BP is sometimes like Excalibur though, I can't always wield it. Vcore 95 is always pick up and play! And yes the Yonex is obviously a smarter choice for me and 99% of those reading this. I Just wish the Yonex had shiny paint, ARE YOU LISTENING YONEX.........!!!!!!!!!!!

Loving the VC 95 2021 w/o lead and stock grip but extended (via balsa wood apoxy) to 28". Has a LOT of controlled pop and stability. Currently playing it with medium soft polys at 48, e.g. amazing control with Kirschbaum Max Power Rough 18 @ 48.

I was thinking about the same especially it came at a low swingweight, but my OHBH is not as good with extended rackets and I have to choke a bit for that.. are you playing 2 handed backhand?

arteddie

It suits my OHBH well on topspin very well. I haven’t dialed in the slice w it yet; it might take some lead in the hoop to help with that.
For me, making sure it’s headlight (7-9pts) helps with timing the OHBH on extended racquets.

Kurt0707

Yes a few grams on the hoop helps a lot for more effective slice... will extend one of my rackets and see how that works...
