I feel embarrassed discussing the sport with friends of mine whom I respect. I would never force them to watch such a scourge on tennis as the deplorable Medvedev.
Personally, even if Sinner wins in straights, it will not be enough. Medvedev simply showing up and being broadcast on the world’s biggest stage is a victory for evil and defeat for good.

It's so weird because I find Medvedev amusing and enjoys that he doesn't take crud from the crowd and isn't willing to just behave.
Yet, anytime I watch him play I get bored. I think it is because his movement is deceptive--he lopes across the court. He's so lanky it looks slow but is actually fast. As opposed to watching a smaller guy like Hewitt terrier all over the court. Just the higher level of energy Hewitt brought elevated the viewing experience.
Zverev vs Medvedev was a bit of a sneak preview of the final. A lot of parallels with Zverev's game--but I'd give Sinner better returns, better court coverage and the better FH. Almost even on the BH. Oddly after watching Zverev vs. Mededev, I'd give him the better net game over Sinner.
If Sinner plays like he did in the 1st 2 sets against Djoker it will be well worth watching. Heavy deep drives to build points and open up the court with great serves to set up Serve plus 1. Maybe he'll follow in Zverev's footsteps and come to the net more often. He's got to be careful and not go for all out winners early on like he did in sets 3 and 4 of yesterdays match vs Djoker.

Of the choices I voted #4 in them not being boring. I'm old enough to have seen guys like Ferrer and Berdych so don't tell me what boring is. They're not flashy by any stretch but we all know that.

On one hand is very refreshing to have 2 new contenders to win AO, on other hand I really dislike the Sinner troll brigade like Ubaldo Scanagatta, Nicola Pietrangeli, Adriano Panatta . Sinner is nice kid and I wish him a lot of success, he will probably win the title match against Daniil . Medved personality is hilariously entertaining and it will be a small miracle if he wins after grueling battles.
Nah, evil winning would be Zverev in the final, was bad enough him beating Alcaraz which turned out to be of no consequence. Trust Zverev to come in and randomly peak just to f**k things up.

This is also a silly poll and qn: there are enough Sinner and Med supporters who will likely enjoy the game trow. Sinner’s game is pretty entertaining to me and Med has his own quirky wierd style to keep things interesting. Jeez some tennis fans on here…

Of course it is my opinion and I'm expressing it. It is generally accepted that Djokovic does not play entertaining tennis. He used to - in his early days before adopting his snooze play style.

Imo even some "one slam wonders" should be respected. Medvedev for example gained my respect. Does not matter he only has 1 slam, but he already reached multiple slam finals and he is consistent Top 1-3 HC player since 2019. It is not a fluke at all.
On the other hand Raducanu is a 100% fluke for me and i am not surprised that she has a lot of haters.
I can guarantee you if he wins tomorrow, he'll be a multiple slam wonder.
He just needs that validation to become a dominant player. He reminds me of Sampras (not play wise) in his demeanour - he lets his play and results speak for itself.

If Sinner is next double digit slam winner then this means Alcaraz will indeed end up as a Hewitt. Alcaraz already seems to have peaked and from here if he ends up as Sinner's pigeon then the road ahead won't be a pleasant one. Even if he wins 1-2 slams more that still would be a disappointment for him given how much he has achieved at 20..

Sinner and Alcaraz could ensure that Djokovic never equals Federer's Wimbledon mark. They will protect Federer's last shred of dignity. 90s gen failed to stop Djokodal from reaching Federer's 20 but Sinner and Alcaraz could help Federer keep his last record of importance i.e the wimbledon record.

Both are interesting. Sinner's tennis is much more attractive, but Medvedev's is strikingly unique. Medvedev does need the right dance partner otherwise the tennis gets grotesque. Hopefully he doesn't sink Sinner to his level of bizarre and hypnotic mooncamping and is punished by effective net play.

Wimbledon cancellation in 2020 was the reason Novak has 7 titles, not the young guns. You can bet all the maharaja treasures that Novak will not stop until he reaches at least 8 Wimbledon titles and 5 US Open titles.
