Both Andre and Novak had/have excelled in the slow hard court conditions. Both have found major success in fast hard court conditions as well but they are known for their slow hard court prowess. Their careers and games are similar in that respect.

Who do you think is the better player on slow HC?

Probably about equal. Didn't Andre win Miami six times? That's very impressive considering how tough HC competition is.

I think slight edge goes to Djokovic here, but maybe i'm biased about this.
Just for consideration, Novak record against other members of the big 4 at the AO, Miami, and IW

Djokovic-Murray 8-1
Djokovic-Federer 5-1
Djokovic- Nadal 6-1

Overall 19-3 on slow hardcourt...

If this was a Djokovic-Murray or Djokovic-Nadal thread, I'd be right with you on this.

As things stand however, with this being a Djokovic-Agassi thread and all, I'd probably ask you to go away.

There's no "maybe" about it, fanboi.

Agassi had a bit of good fortune in his AO wins. One year he beat Rainer Schuttler in a final after Roddick's chances were killed by a marathon 1/4 final against El Anoui? Another year Rafter was up 2 sets to 1 and a break against Agassi then fell apart with cramp. Agassi then beat Grosjean (or was it Clemente?) in the final. Djokovic has a similar number of hard court slams, but hasn't needed the same amount of good fortune as Agassi to get them.

Its close.. But overall on hards I'll definitely take Andre any day of the week because of how much better Andre was on faster courts especially in Flushing than Nole is IMO

Nole is pretty **** poor (for his standards) anyways in New York. To me he has been a BIG letdown in Flushing

It is true that Agassi met little resistance in his late career AO wins, but that does not detract from the legacy that he has in Melbourne.
I only just watched that Rafter-Agassi Semi again recently, not sure if Pat could have beaten him anyway.
Both Novak and Agassi have the same amount of hard court Slams now.
Most unfortunate for Novak is that he is 1/5 at Flushing Meadows vs 5/5 at Melbourne Park.
Strangely though, last year's USO Semi loss I regard as the most disappointing of all.

They're close but Djoko has a much better winning % on hard in general than Agassi: 83.0 (same as Fed, the best- vs 79.0%)

Win % means nothing when talking about active players, especially ones who have not yet started their decline.

I agree Novak is better though, but I thought I should point this out.

How on earth does this even answer the freaking question?

lol...I know, right?

It's like he can't give Djokovic the nod, because he just HAS to pump up Agassi somehow, so he can indirectly pump up Sampras, his idol...

That's why it would be good for Djokovic to also win 14 Slams including the Career Slam.

And then we'd hear even more doping allegations from the delightful 90's C.
Ooh I can't wait.......

Oh yes looking forward to the fools incessant **** the next time Djokovic is beating Nadal in match: "Djokovic must be doping that horrible horrible man... I need Sampras' legacy to remain intact by having Nadal prove that Federer isn't greater than Sampras; not have this doping cheater make the world believe that three players surpassed Sampras withing 15 or so years of his retirement... F***!!!"

Yes, you're very correct.

Yes, you're very correct.

The funny thing is, in 90s Clay's eyes, the more Nadal wins, the more Fed's legacy is diminished, so that Sampras' legacy remains intact. The small little detail is: the more Nadal wins, the more Nadal HIMSELF will become greater than Sampras (and some already think so). Poor 90s Clay just can't win!!

"Good, good...Fed can't be seen as greater than Sampras now....oh f***! Now Nadal is greater than Sampras, too! **** it all!!"

I guess 90s Clay prefers his hero to be third instead of second.

Sampras had some pretty rotten competition from '96- mid '99. I don't see him winning as much (14 slams) today. Perhaps 10 or 11 though.

Aggasi by far , This is a no brainer answer.
Aggasi defeated Samppras many times , Djokovic has never beaten a player of Samras caliber.

Andre Aggasi by A MILE

Agassi had much harder competition as Djokovic has played in a very weak era. So I'd say Agassi is better.

You're absolutely right. Beating Nadal and Murray in 5 finals as well as Federer in 4 semi-finals is what I'd call truly weak competition. Thank God he never had to face the likes of Schuttler and Clement to win his titles.

And Djokovic in R4 in 07

In There's always a nostalgia set. In 2025 if Djokovic and Agassi are compared, it will be universally accepted that Djokovic was better than Agassi. Djokovic at 27 has won as many Grand Slams, and hard court Grand Slams as Agassi did in his career. When their careers are over Djokovic's record will be vastly superior.

Nole. He will end up with 6 slams played on slow hc. Agassi won 4.

Anyone that ends up with 6 AO is the better player on slow hc...
