Exactly! My 12 y.o. niece keeps complaining that one of my old racquets - Wilson Profile 2.7 - that I gave her makes her arm hurt; I've told her that I've reduced the grip size and put soft poly in it and that she needs to harden up, but on she goes...
Either she's making an excuse to get a new racquet or you need to get her away from poly.

Hi Nostradamus,

Yes, that is the code for the current Syntec Pro.

-Josh

josh, I can't find the syntec pro with old SKU number anywhere. would you be able to possibly give me the ones you have ? and were you able to find out what exactly is the difference between the old one and new ones ? Product description states it is 10% Thinner and yet the Thickness is exactly Same in the specs. I am confused

Maybe 10% thinner than your average replacement grip???

Yes, I think you are spot on there @djNEiGht. That is the way I have always interpreted it. I have been using the various Babolat Syntec / Syntec Pro grips for several years since the 2010 APD. I do not detect any noticeable "playability" difference between the older ones and the newer ones.

I think a lot of it has got to do with how you actually wind the grip up the racquet handle.

not playability. how does it feel ? does the new ones feel Thinner ?? it is weird. they all say 1.9 mm,, old ones and new ones.

When I say playability, I mean feel. If they are wound onto the handle in the same manner, they feel the same. They can be made to feel thinner if they are not wound with an overlap.

But then I never wrap my grips with an overlap .. always flat. I wrap the overgirps with an overlap though.

Like @djNEiGht says, try it out yourself.

As far as you can remember, when do you think these new thinner replacement syntec pro grip hit the stores ?

@Babolat Official, can Pure aero 2019 's grommets fit in pure aero 2006?
I’m almost certain they are different. The ‘19 Pure Aero grommets fit all the new PA models but the ‘16 are different from these so your ‘19 PA grommets won’t work in the ‘16 PA but you should still be able to the correct ‘16 grommets sets rather easily. On a side note, I believe the ‘17 Pure Strike grommets do fit the 3rd Gen Pure Strike though, just different colors.

If the drilling spacing is the same, the grommets will fit in with some tweaking.
My natural gut keeps breaking on the knot at the top. 19 version allows to tie the crosses on the crosses.

Afaik, original white colored Syntec Grips prior to 2015. There were also Syntec Grips with the word "Play" on them for a while. When the PA model was first released I started to see Syntec grips with the words "Syntec Pro" appear. I could not tell any difference between those and the previous ones. I have been buying those since then and they still seem to be the same thickness and feel as the original Syntec Grips that came on my 2010 APD Lites

This description of "10 % Thinner than before" started to appear only recently though. I started to see that description only this year in TW website. so I am just wondering babolat started to make these thinner sometime this year ??

Hi Nostradamus,

I literally only had one of the old style number here, and we have already taken it out of the package to compare it to the current one. Sorry! I am waiting to hear back from our product manager in France to find out more about when and if we changed the thickness and I will get back to you as soon as I hear something.

Hi Jster,

The 2019 grommets do not fit exactly in the 2016 due to the tie off hole on the 2nd cross in the 2019 version. I imagine you could use a grommet grinder to carefully enlarge the hole in the 2016 frame, but I would proceed cautiously with that obviously.

Hi Dtennis, you are correct that they 2016 and 2019 Pure Aero grommets are slightly different due to the tie off hole on the 2nd cross on the 2019 version. You are also correct that the 2017 and 2020 Pure Strike grommets are interchangeable, except for the piece in the throat.

Thanks josh. Can you confirm that the receipe for RPM Hurricane is the same as Pro hurricane Tour? Or it is a new formulated strings? If so, is Pro hurricane tour no longer in production?

Hi Jester,

Pro Hurricane Tour will become RPM Hurricane for 2020, and it is the same string.

Come on dude that's a bit too salty, like himalayan pink salt... this is just a video of guys hitting with the new sticks, no need to tag other users about other threads e.t.c.... TW have different rights to brands like Prince, so that is an entirely different issue which you can take up on different threads and avenues. These videos and others of people hitting with new frames have been posted many times before without any issues. This is afterall, the official babolat thread.

those are compiled from stringers around the world who get a chance to string pros' racquets, no?
I believe that as racquets are strung they breakdown somewhat and become softer. Pros often receive 7-10 frames at a time. These frames can be strung as often as 6 times a week until the player moves on from them. The frames players use might be softer due to such frequent stringing and use. I think they come off the same production lines and are exceptional only in their weight tolerances and what is done to them post production(weighting/paint).

I came across a T-Fiber pro stock that was used by an American pro. It was stock-plus weighting. RA was well below what was listed for that model. The frame was “very used”.

Hi Nostradamus,

Unfortunately, no, I haven't heard anything yet. I imagine it will be after the holidays, but I will let you know as soon as I know something. Thanks!

That appears to be wrong, in the catalogue it has it as stated above, even if you click the link their shop will have Beam Width: 21.0-23.0mm
it means the beam will be in the range of 21mm to 23mm. The non TW dealer is right.

Can anybody tell me will there be an update of the aero storm tour or pure storm tour models? As in the thin bean 16x20 string pattern same mold with nothing changed? I know sock ceccinato and Felix are still using the aero storm tour ( pure aero vs tour) with the new pure aero cosmetic which looks great. Any idea if there’s going to be a 2020 pure aero vs or pure strike vs

Aero VS is releasing in March with an all new mold and 16x20 pattern. Nothing yet on the Strike VS, but seems like VS lines are dropping 1 year after the normal version.

YES! Please read several of the earlier posts in this thread which have already answered most of your questions. There are even pics and videos of the new Aero VS model.
I saw that but it’s not the same mold as the aero storm or pure storm so is it it safe to assume they’re discontinuing that line?
