Confidential hybrid and other Solinco hybrids

Has someone any experience hybriding Confidential with a multi in crosses?

I really like the Solinco hybrid Tour Bite / Vanquish and use a slightly different version currently (TB Soft 125/Vanquish 130) in my Pure Strike.

Will certainly try Confidential 120/Vanquish 130 next time I string my racket...

What is your experience with Solinco hybrid setups??

I tried the TourBite with Vanquish in my clash 100. But I put the vanquish on mains and TourBite on the cross. Broke in like 1 hour on my Clash 100. I have minor tennis elbow so playing with poly should be a no no. I tried Confidential (main) with Tecnifbre MF and it feels okay. Currently running Volkl Cyclone Tour (softer poly) on mains with TNT 17 on crosses. Lots of bite on the ball and the TNT just pops. So far my favorite setup. Planning on trying out Tecnifibre MF on the mains after these break.

I currently use Confidential 1.20 mains and Kirschbaum Pro Line II Rough 1.20 crosses. Maybe not what you're looking for but this is a spin-friendly, stable, long-lasting configuration for me, although perhaps a little under-powered. I may try substituting a multi for the PL2 at some point to try and get a bit more pop. I string mains and crosses at 48lb on a 98 sq in. racquet (which settles at around 40 lb until something breaks). I put about 30 Babolat string savers (made of PTFE) in the sweet spot, so notching occurs only at the periphery and the strings don't really "go dead."

Any more Confidential hybriding experience you can share?

I enjoy all of these combinations at around 55/54 on a lock-out machine in a Blade 98 V8 16x19

The Ghostwire is very comfortable. You should give it a try.

I use it because it has low string to string friction, high string to ball friction, and great tension maintenance.

I highly recommend Volkl Cyclone Tour 18 mains and Confidentail 16L crosses. 55/50 , once settled it goes to 52/48 and it feels really good, touch, control spi, power - all with predictable performance.

I'd try Hawk 1.20. I don't really love a hybrid where the cross is thicker than the main.

Hawk 1.20 is an excellent cross too.


As for Solinco hybrids, I find their shaped strings play excellent as a main with a round cross. I like Hawk Touch as the cross is using poly. I also find that synthetic gut is a great cross to Solinco mains. Vanquish/Multis is nice for like 2 hours.

I was thinking the same about having a shaped poly as mains. Mainly looking for tension maintenance and control as I don’t play too often besides feeding balls to my kid. I’ll definitely try your suggestion. Do you think RPM Rough would be a good cross with Confidential? It has lower string to string friction and is often used with gut mains.
