18 years old, incredible game, great inside out forehand, drop shots a lot, good lefty serve, 5'9, this guy proves you can be short and hit hard and win against all the 6'6 soft-hitters. Played Tsitsipas in Brest, crowd was going wild for a challenger final.
Hi @FudgeMynanother ball basher. this tennis future seems like wta 2.0 once the big 4 retire. yikes
French players always have the flare and style but no substance. Sad.
Yeah. You have to be at least 6'3 to compete in the modern age. Look at Zverev ranked fourth and towering over even Federer and Nadal. This is a new era, and height is essential for power.

Height definitely not essentially for power, in fact I see little correlation. Height does give you a much bigger margin for error on serves and allows you to hit harder and safer. But Zev hasn't even figured that part of his game out yet. If anything he's succeeded in spite of his height, not because of it. He'll be better Later when he figures his serve out.You have to be at least 6'3 to compete in the modern age. Look at Zverev ranked fourth and towering over even Federer and Nadal. Nice delusional fanboy post.
What did that towering height get him in the slams last year. Jack sh*t. Got beaten by Coric again ffs.
6'1 is the height that is dominating the game right now, and has for the last few decades.

Where is the power? AZ, Khachanov, Tsitsipas (who has already lost to Moutet), Tomic, all of these guys are over 6'5 and don't have great power. You have to be at least 6'3 to compete in the modern age. Look at Zverev ranked fourth and towering over even Federer and Nadal. This is a new era, and height is essential for power.
That's actually quite mistaken. The big 4 are taller than 6'1 on average, not to mention Cilic and Raonic who have both made slam finals. Both over 6'3, thank you. The reason Zverev didn't make a slam final in 2017 has nothing to do with his height but the fact that he kept winning big events outside the slams and getting exhausted. Did he win 6 events in total (including 2 masters)?
It all depends on whether he can hold serve. McEnroe was a lefty who managed to hold serve under 6 foot. I think Moutet can too but it's not going to be easy.
Guess the height that won slams in 2017.
Hint: Its not 6'3+.
OK but he is a lefty so his serve can improve. If he learns to swing it out wide in the ad court he can hold a lot of break points. Lefties develop later. Look at Muller and Lopez, both won tournaments last year in their mid-thirties after mediocre careers. He's winning under 60% of serve points, playing mostly mediocre opposition. One of the worst serve games of all the young'uns, rivaled by the dude he had a three-set thriller with last night.
What's your beef with French players?
The slam winners of 2017 were playing on the tour 15 years ago! That's not the new generation, lol.
I said dominating the game right now and for the last few decades.
But we are discussing the supposed champion of THE FUTURE, this Moutet chap. The fact of the matter is this guy will struggle to win anything big because in the modern game, you have to be 6'3 or above.
Agreed , usually the French are all show and no go .
I take it either Shapovalov turned 19 or got hit by a bus.Moutet is the new #1 in the WORLD under 19 yo
/nuff said

Strongly leaning toward the former.
And now they have been introduced anything is possible.at best the future caddie of Rublev if the latter ever gets into golf
This hasn't aged well has it haha, if you'd said Sinner, I'd have agreed, but not Moutet. He's probably not going to break top 50.18 years old, incredible game, great inside out forehand, drop shots a lot, good lefty serve, 5'9, this guy proves you can be short and hit hard and win against all the 6'6 soft-hitters. If he was an American he would be touted as the next big thing. But seriously, this guy can be top 50 !!This hasn't aged well has it haha, if you'd said Sinner, I'd have agreed, but not Moutet. He's probably not going to break top 50.
he's the next Santoro.
