Del Potro using another Wilson blacked-out frame

In his latest pictures on Facebook, Del Potro is using a blacked-out frame. Do you think that he'll come back using an RF97 like Roger and possibly Dimitrov?

Rog must be letting all of his Team-8 players in on the RF train!

I doubt it Del Potro probably won't ever actually change his racquet and even if he did Wlson would paintjob it differently so not all their top players are using the same racquet

Apparently, he has to change his racquet. He's run out of his old frames so he might as well switch both physical racquet and paintjob.

Looks like RF97 or Prostaff 97 with lead tapes.

Probably willson might give PJ of prostaff 97 then might say Del portro's new racket choice.

I like the rust colored lead tape --perhaps just a reflection? Hope they keep that line of racquet going. PWS is there.

Interesting, his racquet is an 18x20 with pws, but the blades dont have pws and the prostaff doesn't have 18x20. I guess his racquet is custom, but hell probably sponser the PS97.

I saw Wilson is naming a few racquets for Monfils. It would be cool if they gave Delpo his own line. The strange thing about the Monfils deal is that he has a Blade 98 PJ no? I wonder why they would name a different frame for him. If Wilson doesn't call the Blade 104 the "Williams Sisters Tour" or "Serena Signature" I doubt anyone other than Sir Fed will be getting their own namesake line.

Showing Unprecedented sense of humor, wilson introduces the Williams brothers autograph line. It was designed by shamil shamozzle tarpischev. Gonna sell well in mother russia.

I would not mind demoing The wilson del pro tro And the wilson ultra monf.

Or... It's the same old Hyper Pro Staff he's always been using... :O MIND BLOWN!

Why the need to black it out if its just his old stick?

Because otherwise it's 100% free advertising for Wilson. If someone is gonna be monetarily benefit from you using a racket, you better be getting paid for that.

Hasn't his frame been blacked out for a while though? Or was he using his K95 paintjobs?

My guess would be they are trying different layups for him. Its not cost effective to give a test frame the full paint job, especially when he's likely hitting w/ 10-15 different iterations, possibly for only 1 session.

And as far as Wilson paying him, I'm sure he's on contract and he's not going anywhere. He is their #1 rep in Latin America. Who are they going to have promote their frames? Leonardo Mayer? When was the last time you saw a thread about his equipment? (hint: I already did the search...the answer is '0')

Wilson doesn't go quite that far, they just mention "endorsed by Serena Williams" on the vendor catalog of the new Blades for the 104.

I bet he had it blacked out. Players are probably not going to advertise a company for free. He's not on the Wilson payroll right now, so I heard.

prostaff6.1 95 classic 18x20

i assume wilson are trying to "produce" an identical racket to him, and his injury was perhaps the perfect opportunity to try to make the racket switch.

Wilson has had the racquet change blessed by the Pope, so it's bring on the holy water and all systems go.

They've finished the left side (9 mains), but are only at the 6th main on the right. I thought you were supposed to keep the mains even? Whenever I string, I'll alternate sides so the mains are never more than +1 on either side. Is this no longer necessary?

I normally go 3 one way, then 6 other side, then 6, and final 3 and rackets seem to handle it, and plays great.

The official USRSA recommendation is not to go more than three strings ahead when stringing the mains. So 9 done on one side vs. 6 on the other could be within that guideline.

Well, to be exact, he is doing the 6th on the other side which means he had 9 - 5 at one point...

Hasnt that been revised down to +2, or is it that only certain manufacturers adivse not to go more than +2 when stringing mains. I believe Head does this.

looks like a 100 square inch compared to the Big Man definitely not a 95
Hope its a flexible frame like Ferrer's Prince tour 100 to give his BH a good slingshot effect and wrist some comfort. Ive always loved stiffer frames until recently when I had a chance to use Stans Yonex setup.

Oh so you can discern a difference of 5 sq. inches from a picture. Tell me more…

How does that make your day when the stick in question is DelPos?

Nishi looks like Davydenko 100 sq inches looks big on a 5f10 player
but Djokovic even with his yogi master starved looking physique and
DelPos larger slightly thicker bone structure 95-100 is more noticeable.

After years of watching fed with a 90 the 97 still looks massive

racquetreligion, you need to question your God, or get a new religion, because Nishikori is using a 95sq in, same as Delpo.

NOTE: Nishikori is not using the same frame as Delpo, just the same headsize.
