Are you already past the blade 100? I’m maining mine until after summer like I did the MPL
I tried the 100v8 and wasn't into it at all. Still stuck with the ez98 now that string setup is set. I may have also picked up 4 more because a certain retailer had them for under $500 shipped.

Any of you who are in love with the PSVS ever try the newer PS97?

I just traded for one, even though I don't anticipate it being a good fit for me as I usually do better with 100 inch frames.

But the trade offer was too good not to go for it.
I only hit a demo for about an hour, but I think it's basically the same racquet, but maybe just a touch more muted due to the flax fiber stuff they supposedly added (if that's true). I plan to get one down the line to just have. The other changes they supposedly made to the string spacing are not real - the stringbed is identical.

So, it is basically just a paint job down grade.

Splendid season opening yesterday evening with 3 hours total of, in parts, quite high intensity tennis. First day of good weather in weeks, too. Feels so nice to play outside again in the sun, even tough the transition from indoor hard and indoor clay is always a bit rough. Didn't help that I haven't played in four weeks, haha. Racket wise no complaints, the VCore Tour did as expected. Still not sure about strings, though. So far I've tried Lynx Tour, Hawk Power and Tour Bite, all in 1.25 gauge. I like Lynx Tour the best, the other two didn't wow me in this frame. Any recommendations? Maybe some YY poly? Thanks!

Oh, and @JGads – naturally I already prepared two freshly strung Extreme MP's for Monday. Can't help it. Here's to a great outdoor season everyone!

I’m also maining the VCORE 98 Tour for the spring/summer season. I had been playing with S7T, which I loved in it. But I’ve been playing so much, it was to hard on my arm. I’m currently playing with Poly Tour Pro 1.25 yellow in it @ 50lbs. It’s playing pretty well in it & more importantly looks amazing:) I also just bought a 4th one from @Fighting phoenix that he strung with MSV Swift that I’m excited to try. My season officially starts next week with 3 matches scheduled. I’m playing on three different teams this season.

I am hoping the supposedly larger sweetspot helps, but I guess it will still need lead in the hoop to bring the SW up a bit.

Or maybe a slight 0.25 inch (or 0.5) extension? Anyone tried that in the PSVS?

@taylor15 think you may appreciate this score. Met a guy who worked at wilson and sold me this 16x19 v7 gem for $70. It's never been used. The green color looks awesome in the hand. Specs out pretty user friendly at 301, 291 SW and 323 balance.

I'm still going Blade 100v9 for the season but I really missed the v7 Blade a lot and didn't want an 18x20. So this felt like it was meant to be. It will pair well with my v9.

Great find. They are pretty rare too. Their 3rd best pj behind only the V4 and V5 gloss

Absolutely beautiful! Great specs too, lucky score there.

Nice score! My only complaint with the blade 100 is that the RG blade cosmetic is only on the 98 and I am really into it.

Fantastico! Here here to the outdoor season cheers, however in these parts we’re still waiting for the balloons to come off. Starting this next week, I think some will go. Leaving the way for plenty of windy Tuesdays, but so be it.

Here‘s to some Summer Struffing and the occasional glorious vamos. (in honor of today)

I'd be shocked if the sweetspot were any different. String it low (45lb or lower) with a poly that's not too stiff, and it should be good. The demo I got did have an almost 330 SW without any lead or anything, so it's possible they beefed up the SW a bit, or maybe just a fluke. @tim-ay has extended his PSVS, I think. I'm not generally a fan of that so haven't done it.

This is mental I know, but I can’t get past the yonex head shape. I do like how they hit though and the sweet spot on the ezone 100 is huge
The RG pj is pretty sweet. The blade 100 sweetspot feels too small after swinging yonex spatulas
Played with an EZ100 for the first time last week and was/am wowed by how solid, stable, powerful, quick, and easy to play with it is. More feel than the EZ98 too (even if just as a function of higher stiffness). It's tempting.

Same. Why I could never get with the VCore. Having said that, I may have to trade in the an Extreme Tour or BP for an EZ100.

Yeah I played 2 of them at 27.25 for a few months. But lately I’ve just kept all 4 at 27. No big reasons, just little ones. I just have plenty of power at 27 and don’t need any extra juice.

They look atrocious at first, but you get used to it. I remember looking at the ezone while testing the vcore and couldn't get over how square the hoop looked as opposed to the diamond shape of the vcore. Now the square looks completely normal lol

The current Vcores have huge sweetspots. It's insane how hard it is to mishit with the vcore 100. Still need to try the ez100 though

I would suggest Yonex Poly Tour Strike 125, Gamma Moto 17, Tour Bite 120 and Dunlop Esplosive Spin

Man, albeit today was casual, that’s two pain-free sessions in a row. Prestige and good weather and a hit of health giving me joy. Even made a purchase earlier today, a vintage for cheap. From around 2000, thereabouts. If anyone guesses it exactly, they win a racquet. Just maybe not a racquet you want (as I have no Blades or Strikes.)

I know it isn’t but it should be a 7G! And to think we can still buy new ones…..

Bad news for me, looks like the Razor Soft adventure is over

After I first had it strung, I played a couple days in a row and started feeling a little soreness in my wrist; figured it was overuse. Then I played again, a little more sore. Then again two days later, very sore wrist. I narrowed the problem down to two potential things: form issues (when I'm late running to a forehand I'll snap my wrist at it, which is terrible) or the razor soft, just because the pain started as soon as I switched strings. So today -- after taking two days off -- I decided to play with my alternate PSVS, strung with toro toro. And now? No wrist pain from today. My form didn't improve overnight, so I have to think it's the string. That's very annoying, because the performance and feel is SO good with it.

But what's also weird is that a) razor code never bothered my wrist, and b) no other string has caused me wrist pain -- only a racket once (the 360+ Radical MP, which killed my wrist and as soon as I got rid of it the pain went away again)... and I've played with some stiff/harsh polys; never once had an issue. So why is it the razor soft that hurts? But whatever, I can't deny the actual results which is that playing with RS=wrist pain, playing with everything else the same but a different string=no pain.

Back to the drawing board. Not sure if I want to go down a multi wormhole, especially since no other poly has been an issue. But at least I know it isn't the PSVS. No excuse or need to change rackets (but I may flirt with it, since my Speed Pro is arriving Thursday haha).

Razor soft is what I had in my Ezone 98+ when i first hurt my elbow this winter. I thought it was because of the extended frame. It’s a great string, but definitely not soft.

I absolutely love razor soft but had a similar issue. For whatever reason, after about 4 hours of a string job I was starting to get tennis elbow. The string bed still felt great and I’ve also been fine with other very stiff polys, and never had tennis elbow in my life. But like clock work, after about 4 hours on a string job my elbow would bother me. I’ve set aside my reel for now and haven’t had any issues.

Glad to hear you guys also had pain from RS. Only weird thing is it was elbow for both of you and wrist for me… but yeah I agree Egg that it’s strange that no other stiff polys have hurt us but this one. Too bad; it’s such a nice playing setup.

Now I’m even afraid to go back to RC! But I might. Or I can just stick with some other tried and true setups… I actually have some Lux Eco Spin I wanna try.
