Hit with the Touch PP for the first time this morning before the thunder storms got here. Set up different from my short term demo I had of the PP360+ (Mainly leather added) and I dig it. I can’t put my finger on the difference, they’re very similar and could be played interchangeably for me. I can hit a bigger FH and Serve with the PP over the UT, while volleys with the UT are stronger. My 2HBH backhand is still a work in progress but I did hit some one handers. I was worried about the TK82 pallet shape, and maybe it’s honeymoon, but I feel great with it. I felt it helped my OHBH as I was getting more spin and a heavier ball (per my partner). I’m going to play my matches this week with the PP and go from there. I have a doubles with my regular partner against a team we beat last week 7-6(3), 7-6(11) and then a singles match against a much better opponent.

Well, I finally got around to trying the Touch PP. TBH I didn’t much care for it. I expected it to be firm. But to me it was more than firm, bordering on stiff, jarring, and even brassy at times. I did enjoy hitting slice with it, and the OHBH felt pretty good. But that was about the extent of my enjoyment. After about 10 min or so, my arm seemed to be objecting a bit to the stiffness. In fairness, the strings in it were probably pretty shot. But even with a fresh restring, I don’t know if it would be for me. I went back to my trusty APD with ALU that had seen better days, and to me that was noticeably less harsh (shocking perhaps, I know).

What tension? All my PPs are at 45/43 strung on a sensor.

i got a hint of what you are saying with the prestige mid. Had a nice feel but it was not as easy on my arm coming from the v7 blade. It was like it had a fake softness to it. Tough to describe but it wasnt like a classic head.

Bingo. Now that I think about it, there was almost a hollow-ish quality to it?

I had a similar experience with that frame. Mine was freshly strung ut still gave me golfers elbow after about 10 minutes. It felt very harsh to me, especially on off center hits.

Played a bit of singles earlier today against a buddy of mine whose been beating me in some close matches lately. Last time we played it was something like 6-3 4-6 5-7. Today I started and ended with the v7 Blade which even surprised him. I told him he’s improved too much for me to be messing around with racquets while I’m playing him. Ended up winning 6-3 6-2. To be fair it was windy today so you had to adjust accordingly based on which side of the court you were on.

I noticed a blister forming on my middle finger at the beginning of the match. The only thing I can think of is that it’s from playing last night with the PA as I’ve never had blisters on my fingers before. Perhaps it has something to do with the different shape of the Babolat grip from what I’m used to.

The 360+ line has a different feel. More muted ala fake softness that you’re talking about. I had the 360+ mid and tried @snoflewis’s demo 360+ prestige pro and both shared this characteristic. I much prefer the Touch and XT PPs over the 360+. These aren’t “classic” head feeling sticks either but then again, the classic heads are harder to play with as well. It’s always a compromise. If you want classic feel, you give up ease of use. If you want more ease of use, you give up some feel.

looks like my ideal specs! I assume it will have the kinetic mass thing? If the feel is not overly dampened this could be a nice one.

It does have kinetic. The reviewer on the racket pedia site stated he could not feel or hear it when playing, so it's probably fairly subtle. Though I can kind of say that for all my PK sticks. When you hit a kinetic frame for the very first time it's a little weird for maybe five minutes and then you forget about the kinetic thing and just play.

I had the Black Ace 315 as a demo when @Power Player was still in FL. In this racquet I thought it was very noticable but to be fair I had never played with a PK before. I remember it being super-powerful but the feel was quite dampened and disconnected. I like the idea of that system though and I can definitely see the need if you have a < 60 RA racquet and not a particular thick beam. Let's see what the early feedback is going to be here.

I’ll be passing thru South FL again on Friday. You available to hit?

Yeah the BA315 was a howitzer. Very unique racquet. I remember that day we also tried the tfight 305 and while i did not enjoy the feel, it felt like I couldn’t miss. If that BA was 10 grams less i feel like it could have grabbed me more.

Please report back on how it plays. Hopefully this isn't a limited release.
Of course. May take a few weeks. Between getting it strung. Then I’ll play it stock at first. But It may need some lead around the hoop. But I’ll keep you guys updated every step of the way.

Is this a completely new racquet? I don't see any previous 6.1 in 100 or in that spec.

Wilson and TP must have a very close relationship because it’s TP that often has “exclusive“ W releases, or recently the NOS 2015 Blades in both patterns, etc. Obviously @Hankenstein and @danbrenner (if he doesn’t get the bad email) are requested to report findings for science.
I’m in Europe so for me it will be no problem getting it

I think it’s a brand new mold. With an unstrung weight of 305 and balance of 30,5 this frame must surely just scream “lead me”. And yes sir! A 6.1 with a good slab of lead over the pws is like a good pepperoni on a pizza!

i agree with others about initial thoughts of the new six one 100.
at 11.5 oz 9 hl 100 sq inches. this stick is ripe for slapping some lead down..
i will try it stock first as i always do with a new frame. but i do think this one is made for some led hed.
and honestly thats the way frames should be made. a little over head light so that we can make the call on where we need the balance. at.
when frames come in ;head heavy, there is no room to customize and thats usually a bummer.

Played first match with PP. My partner and I were both having an off night - nothing to do with the racquet, everything to do with something else. Lost 6-4, 6-3. I hit 6 aces in 4 service games though and that is what I needed from this stick. This is KBlade tour good for me. Tons of power and nice precision. It was enough difference that my partner asked if I was out hitting serves this weekend.

You must be nuts. Equipment always takes the blame for losses. ;)
