It’s supposed to be tomorrow. I’d mistakenly said 4/20 weeks ago when in fact it’s 4/21. That being said I think there’s a very good chance TWE and other places won’t have anything tomorrow, either, with worldwide distribution issues being what they are. Plus Pro Kennex not really caring much about snazzy rollouts anyway - almost no info or hype put out about these lines in the days leading up, as other companies do. Classic PK.
My 2nd comes on 4/21 and I think I want a yellow one now if it really is available at TWE this month. Tempting to get a 2nd 7G today. Such a great frame. I’m not sure which I like more. Are all 7G’s so perfectly balanced that you don’t notice them being XL’s? Or do I just have the perfect one?

Though I never had them measured, both of mine have felt great (once I sold off a 7G, then realized the horrific mistake I’d made and reacquired). If at all on the fence and buying new would always recommend paying extra for the matching service to know precisely what you’re getting, no “in your head” doubting or speculation.

the pictures jgads posted on "TW questions" section on a thread about the release date on PKs are probably one of the funniest things I have seen in a while.. so good.. those people want their PKs!!

The 7G certainly deserves more attention in the tennis world. Shouldn’t just be a few tennis geeks on here. It is right there with the doppio and ripstick for ease of use. Maybe even better. Crank up the marketing gads!!!

Edit: I will say, those chasing doppio’s are nuts not to pick up a 7G for 129 bucks. You can’t like the D without trying the G.

Gads told me for months I would like it. I WAITED TOO LONG!!!!

Don’t be me! Do yourself a favor and get the G!! And if you hit it before and lost your way, buy it again! You’re a better tennis player now and more worthy. You’ve paid your dues, chasing silly frames and painted charlatans. Remember what it was like to hold the Goat! Haha....

I saw and it thought for $129, why not? But then noticed it's 27.5" and I've never used an extended length racquet before.

Lol but the new D will have that G factor except in a 27" ;)

It plays so fast you won’t notice the downsides to a 27.5. Choke up a little on second serves to help with the adjustment, but that went away for me after a couple of games last night. Ground strokes, there is no penalty at all to the length.

Could be. It opened my eyes last night and i joined the yellow dope searching crowd. There are times you just need a little bit more. But i picked up a few balls near the net where that .5” made a difference too.

Yeah I had a feeling you’d love the G. It’s one of the best XL frames I have ever used. That new Banana XL could be pretty fantastic as well.

If I ever return to XL it will be a PK, but for whatever reason I prefer standard length. I am playing so well with the whippy Doppio that I can’t turn back anytime soon.

The dope is just awesome. I don’t know for sure where I will land, but i can see having 2 doppio dopes, 2 7Gs, 2 yellow dopes, 2 XL bananas. Lol. Who knows. These are really special frames and i don’t even feel like i played tennis last night. Except for the sore ankle, sore calf. I need beans on my legs.

Healthy arms and improved play. That is the PK way. It works!

As for me, I have my 3rd discount Doppio on the way which will have me set for this season at minimum. But I also will get a Banana to work in the mix whenever it is available.

Shoes wise - I am switching between the Mizuno waves and Diadoras. I kind of prefer the Diadora comfort right at the moment. Tough call there. The Diadoras are the PK of shoes - real easy on the body if you play a lot of hardcourt tennis.

Socks - got some Solincos and a few level 1 thorlos to try out.

Strings - Tour Sniper and Element for now

I think those are all nice upgrades that have me set for league play. I don’t really have much urge to check out anything else frame wise right now. I think the Black Ace pro could indeed be a wildcard, but I suspect it may have that pretty open pattern from the prior versions. Reminds me a bit of the Angell 16x19 TC95 in that regard. Nice frame, but I sold that one.

So yeah, for more fitness I am going to buy a gravel bike since there are miles and miles of trails all over the place that I can hop on and hammer on non tennis days, and keep me off the road a little, which is always a risk. I think that will really help me get max cardio going. On another PK-esque note, a place that people never think about for strength training/swimming/hoops..whatever - the YMCA. The ones around here are extremely nice and cost nothing with no contract. It’s kind of crazy how much you get for the $$$. Worth looking into as an alternative to the typical Lifetime/LA fitness gym that requires a contract signed in blood.

The bike is great for tennis fitness translation especially out there. You hang on that aerobic anaerobic edge on every damn climb. “Anaerobic threshold” training. I really miss that.

these PKs will probably have me ditching everything else. Maybe keep the rips. Not sure though. The PKs are even a bit more comfortable and I’m a sucker for thin beams. I frame a lot less.

Completely against my better judgement and the fact I'm not into XL, i grabbed a 7G. As soon as banana doppio is out, grabbing one too as planned.
Although it’s part of a sickness, I’m going to be curious what you think of it. I was trying to stay away from XLs after bailing on the PD+. Very little adjustment to this 7G though. Serve is the biggest change .... I hope you get the same spec I have as it still plays pretty whippy.

It was the last 3 grip they had ;) I am not a backcourt slug it out player and more all court and like to move in and serve volley. Will see how this works for me but in all honesty i bought as a novelty in my bag. So what's a good starting tension and then i could adjust from there?

I'm still keeping my eye out for a couple more DRs to add to the collection. Along with that VCore Xi 98 @Power Player planted in my head.
Played with the Xi98 a while back. Ended up being on the stiff side for me over time, but it was my first exposure to the world of 16x20 string beds; it was one of those "where have you been all my life?" moments when I first picked it up. One of the reasons I can't wait to get the Doppio in my hands.

I strung mine at 52 with tour sniper. It plays with a little more pop than the doppios which I think I could string at 48 now that I’ve hit it more. (Clarifying - 48 in the doppios)

at 52 in the 7G, still have great control and feels great. It took a few hits for me to fully appreciate it, I knew I liked it, but last night I finally served easily with it on 2nds. If you like to come in, it’s a great volleying racket... so fast for an XL.

Dang! You’re right, out of 3’s. Now I have to wait... I should have jumped on it instead of hanging out here hyping it. Note to self: Buy then talk!

:-D Yeah, right. Do you know how many of us here have said the same thing about so many racquets? And we’re still here after 50 racquets that weren’t going anywhere. Lol.

I will speak it in to existence!

Feel kind of honored to have gotten in on page 1 and mentioned personally in post 1. That’s something I can tell my Sheepadoodle puppy about when I get it this summer

I did see you were mentioned in post 1. That's when I was like 'dang, he's old!!!!!' :-D

That's ultimately why I chose the EZ over the DR. The DR is still excellent but it's that extra bit stiffer.

I think we are roughly the same age..lol. I just found this site a long time ago. Had been playing tennis most of my life and knew nothing about racquets and strings.

One area my holicism is cured is bags. I have a Nike Court tech 1 standup bag and its nothing short of perfect for me. It is not for storing racquets but i can hold 6 racquets at a time in it. I hope it lasts me forever

Yes there are breeders near me so it was kind of a no brainer. Im on the list for a little fella. I am guessing that will happen in June. Looking forward to it.

Unfortunately the Nike bag won’t last forever. I had to retire mine after 3-4 years and I’m not even hard on my bags.
