Tried multiple modelers (Line 6, Katana Mk I and II, Headrush, and other modeling amps) but keep coming back to plug and play tube amps. If I played out might feel differently for reliability sake and ease of use and in the mix quality but I’m just an in home hobbyist with little or no real talent (kind of like tennis).
Absolutely. If you're just a home/casual player and don't have to worry about lugging equipment around, a good tube head/combo setup is perfect.

But for the touring guys, these digital setups make their lives so easy because everything can be controlled and programmed so they literally just have to worry about playing.

@tim-ay, what was the final verdict on the limoncello? I thought you were pretty serious about the 300 ... or was it the 315? I ask because I'm still keen on hitting the 300 myself when TW gets it in ... if they do. And I might revisit the dreamsicle to see if I'm remembering things accurately. And the Pro 97 310 might need to be hit. Just to make sure a second BA Pro is THE way forward.

Leagues started back up and I went full on commitment to the Top Banana. I have the 300 Limoncello with about 7 grams on the handle. It's a great frame, but I've tabled testing it and have 3-4 weeks more of pure XL playing as to not mess with my game. Once I committed to the XL, I had to really hit a lot of balls to keep it dialed in and reduce the fluctuations you can get going back between lengths.

Jury is out on the Limoncello, but it is a wonderful feeling frame. I don't think it has any chance of being a #1 for me, but it will definitely be a frame I bring out for something like social doubles.... which I rarely play, but got sucked into that last night and REALLy enjoyed myself. I had forgotten how fun just messing around with some great guys in doubles can be. When I'm old and slow, I will definitely do more of that :-D

I had an uncharacteristic string breakage this morning. I'm going to attribute it to colder weather and the atrocious nature of how I shanked the ball. All the same, it means that the Dreamsicle got a little less orange as I decided to restring it with Tour Status instead of Lynx Tour. I also dropped the tension to 45/43 just out of curiosity.

If these 30+ mph winds continue and I can't find accommodations indoors, I might not get to hit again today.

Not quite the glowing recommendation I was almost expecting:laughing: I'm a little hesitant now.
:), haha. Well, I didn't mean it really, it's just a timing thing. I only hit a 3 or 4 times before going full Top Banana.

Negatives of it for me, doesn't have that superb 16x20 PK thang'. I just love that pattern and layout in the PK's. Results in a higher launch and, initially, less control for me but I think that would change with adaption and some focus.

Positives, wonderful feel. lots of spin. and way more pop than normal for that type of classic feeling frame. those magic beans......

I'll come back to it in December and give you more info.

I know what you meant, man;) and I don't blame you. You're smart to commit while competing.

It's definitely my kind of racquet, so I'm not deterred. And hopefully by December, we can compare notes.

I think I'll do some type of JGads play off. Maybe I'll put the Limoncello against a yet to be purchased Orangina for a smack down, color extreme fight. Then maybe the winner goes against the Doppio. Then the 7G/Top Banana fight. But fighting with the 7G and Top Banana is almost not fair to any frame, so it might just be a 27" playoff.

Kudos to you guys. I play piano and tried so hard to play guitar and be one of the cool kids. I can play simple stuff, but suck overall. Still have a 1958 Gibson acoustic (was my uncles), and my Alvarez acoustic from when I was 20 or so. My daughter is taking it up now and if she gets good the Gibson will go to her.

My nearly 3 year old daughter just started piano lessons. She doesn't really have the coordination to play anything at the moment but she already knows what a treble clef and half staff and those things are. It was more to get her in to some activity and out of the house. She just really took to liking it.

Very subtle…but deep…

does this leave @Vicious49 as the lone holic swinging the VC95?

Well . . . I may or may not have had 3 creamsicles waiting for me when I returned from my work trip. I need to measure them to see if I have 2 that are close.

The Doppio may also be pulling away from the VC95. When I traveled this week its the Doppio that I took with me. I have my 1st tournament on Sunday and I think the Doppio is what I will reach for first.

The feel of the Dreamsicle just can't be matched and the fact that it's paired with modern power makes it a perfect combination.

The feel I got from the demo is what made me want to give it a shot.

when you start buying them back … for the second time … you will have arrived.

I've done that with plenty of wrist watches. Haven't done it with any racquets yet.

If these 30+ mph winds continue and I can't find accommodations indoors, I might not get to hit again today.

Super windy here too. After not having played in 5 days I'm itching to get out there. It may not happen if the wind doesn't die down though.

Pills … tennis is pills

They’ve deleted some of my commentary of late. Apparently not taking kindly to their marketing campaign being called “disastrous.” But I also offered to help?

Will continue to swing and sing their frames’ praises in this niche little corner.

This is awesome! I started at 6, and while I'm not the best player in the world I did travel with a pretty well known band for a couple of months when they're keyboardist had an injury from snowboarding. This was way back in about 2006. Guy I grew up with was the lead singer and I thought the opportunity would be fun. He's still on the road, recording and writing for a major label. That life was not for me so as soon as his regular guy healed up I went back to Orlando for wakeboard season.

@Pneumated1 I played both 300g and 315g versions of the Limoncello before settling on the Doppio. Like @tim-ay shared, great feel, touch, and more pop than you would expect from a flexible thin beam thanks to those magic beans.

Despite my default racket preference usually being towards feel and touch, the 16x20 pattern is just a better happy medium for my overall game. Bigger serves and groundies with more control using Dopes for me when compared to both Limoncello models. But touch and feel definitely goes to Limoncello.

Between the two, I liked the extra head light balance a little more on the 315 vs 300 but appreciated the extra maneuverability and whip that came with the 300. They played fairly similar as you might expect. Ended up selling my 300s to a friend and probably posting my 315s soon.

Just measured all 3 Rad MPs. Numbers are all over the place but 1 is definitely way different. They still had the plastic on the grip and the elastic thingies from the placards on there so not 100% accurate but they are accurate in relation to each other.

1. 291 SW 301g 9pts HL
2. 287 SW 303g 8pts HL
3. 300 SW 304g 6pts HL

#3 is out. Between 1 and 2 I can't decide if one is better than the other. They are both underspec but I guess that means more room for customization.

Vicious49

The first one I got was underweight so I leaded it a little. I have both of mine matched at 327 grams, 329 SW and 5 pts HL. I think the second one only needed 2 grams of putty in the buttcap to get there.

Quoting for my own reference so I don't have to go back and try to find the post again.

Not relevant to this post, but farther up - good luck in first tournament! Let us know how you do and what you think of the experience overall. I’m thinking of playing a 35+ Seniors(?) Tournament in a couple of weeks. Never played by age before, wondering if I’ll get smoked.

Just remember, learning how to win against players you haven’t seen before takes some time. Don’t beat yourself up if you lose, but have fun trying to win.

I'm older so to me it's not as big a deal if I lose. I'm doing it more for the experience and to get better.

For those of you who have done tournaments before, it's in 3 days and I haven't received an email with info like times, etc. When should I be receiving that?

Thanks for the info. Nothing in either olace. Also tried to join a legue hee and this is what i got:

You expressed interest in the NoHo USTA Men’s Tri Level League. Unfortunately, only one team registered for each level so there will be no local league and those 2nteams will progress directly to the Sectional Tournament. I checked with both captains and their rosters are already full.

I strung the Rad MP with Lynx Tour orange crossed with Lynx Tour Silver. Hit serves for about 15 minutes and did some drop swings with it. Seems pretty good but wont really know until I get to play some games with it.

I had to add 1g at 12, 2g in the throat, and 2g in the trap door to get it similar to @Power Player specs.

I would have crossed the Lynx Tour with grey fire but didnt have any. Calling the captain of the @J011yroger

For people who have hit with the 2018 and current VC95, which one do you guys prefer? I have the opportunity to get 4 2018s for a good price but am enjoying the new model. No experience with the prior.

Hahah seems like sentiment is pretty strong then. Thanks guys, I'll stick with the 2021.
I haven’t hit with the 2018 version but all the guys I know who have tried it say it’s unstable and absolutely needed lead and even then some said it still needed more help.

My 6 yo started with the Simply Piano app and really likes it since she gets to play a variety of music, epeically more recent stuff. We didn't think she would take well to strict structured lessons with her demeanour so overall we are pretty happy with it.

Only a week with each frame but I preferred the ‘21 to the 18 also. Easier to pick up and play whereas the 18 needed some work I wasn’t willing to put forth.

Did you try the Q tour 315 (frappuccino?)? Did it compare with the BA or have you ruled it out?

I definitely have not ruled it out. It's on a very small list of frames I must try. Actually, I offered a trade for an L4 limoncello just the other day, but it was declined.

I got to do a little hitting yesterday and this morning with Dreamsicle strung with Tour Status. It's very good as well. Different feeling compared to the Lynx Tour. More crispness and slightly more powerful but that may be attributable to the fact that I dropped the tension down to 45/43 as part of a test I'm running now that I'm using the WISE.

I found a great deal on some new Dreamsicles but I've gotta get these VCores sold first.

I lean towards the 2018 but its a close call honestly.

My only vc95 that didnt need lead was one of the 2018s. Its the qc here more than the frame model.
