Yep Mosquito Bite was 18 gauge when I had it. I will put my $$$ on that.
So what's so new and special about the Prestige S?? Just a lighter Prestige Pro (it's 16x19 right).
I remember you said it had some good power and plow, but how does it fare against some heavy artillery?
Also, even if you have to bribe somebody, for Gads sake, get your hands on the box beam (aka, the Federo-Rocher staff). As happy as I am with the 6.1's. the bare minimum specs of the 95 sound so appealing, finally a way of perfectly matching two Wilson's.
Cheers
Try the 90. Super solid rac.The 'For Gads sake' line killed me.
As for the S,it is a lighter Pro, but unlike the YT MP and Pro this one felt a lot more plush, pockety, not so tinny. I mean, I don't think it'll really register for a lot of us here who love the 6.1s, etc, but it's one of the better sticks out there in the lighter range at 11.2-3. Granted, I never faced HEAVY shots coming from the other way bc I only played the one night against one of my lighter-hitting buddies, but it was enough of a hit to see that it's a solid new offering. Dislikes: head grip shape just annoys me, though I do credit them a lot for extending the grip length to make two-handers more comfy. And 2) unlike the heavier Prestige offerings, this one didn't pummel serves. Still, a good stick, but lacking the feel and performance of my PKs for sure.
Called The local, havent received the PS 95 or 100 yet but they do have the 90. Will drop by in a couple hours and hope for a Christmas miracle, otherwise I may end up taking the 6.1 95 out of they have it in. But hoping for PS 95 and Juice Pro.

Alrighty, gents:
Got to the shop, they had neither the PS 95, 90 or either Juice. What they did have was the new 6.1 95 in a closed pattern, which I knew I liked with the open pattern so I took this one out for a spin, and the Pro Staff 100 -- too light for my taste but I can hang with lighter sticks after I get used to the weight, so I went for it anyway to see what box beam would feel like in a lighter package. ...
Off to the courts I went...
Rallied awhile to adjust and then played a first set with the Pro Staff. Well, I really want to try the 95 even more now, because even though this one was too light, it felt fantastic. The box beam feel is still special in a lighter package, so that was a plus. I did slap on some last-minute lead at 12 after getting to the court early and hitting some serves, and the lead helped. All in all, just a great light racquet that had good pop, amazing maneuverability (obviously) and, biggest surprise: I stabbed, without question, some of my best volleys in months tonight with this thing. Just great, great touch around the net. FOR ITS WEIGHT (because comparing this this to higher weight class isn't right), I think this thing is absolutely fantastic. People used to playing lighter sticks, Babolat tweeners, etc., will have a great box beam option soon, and that's a good thing. Nice job, Wilson. Now, I really want to check the 95. ...
After a 6-3 first-set win with the 100, onto the...
6.1 95. Well, hello Wilson Quality Control. This thing weighed 12.3, fine, but unquestionably swung heavier than my recent playtest frame. So, there you go. It's all about getting lucky or paying extra for exact spec, if able. THAT BEING SAID, hey, once again 6.1 95, your FYP is amazing, my friend. Man it's fun to just rear back and crush with this thing, and someone else said this before and I'll just reiterate: when you have the 6.1 in hand, you just automatically become the aggressor on court, the dictator, and you just go for shots. Found myself reminding myself that I shouldn't go for a winner on just about every shot, but you just feel like you're capable of exactly that. Won the second set 6-3 as well with the 6.1, playing splendidly in spite of the slightly-more-than-I-like swingweight, just ripping the ball to the right spots....
Played a third set, keeping the 6.1 95 in hand, and it was ugly. The added weight started getting to me, I was late on shots and particularly on serves, where I just lost everything, all control of the ball. Same 6.1 95 experience of the past -- stellar for an hour, sloppy for the next. Annoying. At 4-1 down I switch back to the PS 100 (realizing it's a bit nutty to switch to such a lighter stick mid-set, but who cares, I was just having fun), and after getting down 5-1, broke him and then climbed all the way back to 5-5 with the Box Beam Magic ... and then... it was over, I couldn't pull off the Tebow and he took the last two very tight games.
All in all, fun night testing out two more newbies. Regarding the 6.1 95, it was strung with Sensation, so softer than the ALU Power the demo was strung with, but the frame remained pretty rigid feeling so that's just an inherent quality rather than string. Feel wise, I prefer the BLX, so I think PP may have scored the jackpot with a BLX that swings in the low 320s. ....
All in all, though, good on Wilson to bring back the box beams (even if they're imperfect) and, supposedly -- from both people at the shop and people here on these boards -- the Juice is something to check out, too.

Re the 6.1 95 :
Do you guys lift weights or anything? I don't mean it as a sarcastic question, I just wondered because I definitely agree the stick is obviously heavier at 12.5 with OG and dampener.
But so far I have not had issues with the weight..I have been lifting a lot lately though and I am wondering if this helps me out from getting fatigued. If anything, my legs have been dead lately, but that is probably due to how much I have been exercising since the weather here is awesome right now.
also, the Box beam 95 ..how much of a difference is there compared to the BLX 95 on serve..in terms of playing an attacking style? I play so much better now that I can pressure the ball and hit so accurately when I swing out that I am not sure I could see the PS95 playing the same way.
Yeah and your racquet is waaaay heavier than mine.
Mine are 357 and a SW under 330.
I would say I am strong for my size though.
^ Nope. I'm the same way with my preferences. In between 354-358gr. static and 350-360 swing. With a 7-9pt. balance.
Do you tend to prefer hitting flatter strokes? I know I do. I prefer pace over spin, even though I brush-up quite a bit, I'm still hittin' a pillow.
I know what you mean. The n6.1 has me intrigued. 65flex. The BLX is just a tad too stiff and powerful for me, although very comfortable at the same time.
It matters what type of players you are up against. If they are 3.5, then you can use a heavy stick because you will have so much time..if you are hitting 4.5-5.0s and can still set up with that heavy stick then you are golden.
Just got my Melbourne, sorry for the cross posting (BB Melbourne club) but mods done...........
Ive added 6g in the handle plus volkl overgrip (7g) and 11g from 10-2 plus dampener (2g) New spec is 368g and Ive kept the balance at 7pts. Swings great, just really nicely balanced, swingweight is a little less than the dnx mids I estimate 355 or so, will measure later.
Here she is.....will take her out when I get a break in the weather, hopefully tmoro or sunday.....will do fresh string job tonight!

(my fave past time along with IPA beer)
^PP - i'm thinking 48/51 (B5E/SS) since the regular setup with N.Vy crosses are 48/52. do u think that's ok or too low?
Since both b5e and the SS are both polys you could drop the tension 2lbs on the SS crosses and get some wicked pocketing.
With the Nvy crosses, you had to go up to account for the extra power and softness. Just my 2 cents
not much weight lifting here...just an overweight ole guy.
was banging out booming flat serves the other day as easy as eating potato chips (my fave past time along with IPA beer) and using the MGPP. the 4D100 strings were toast so now time to restring with SS.
Had a few Sierra Nevada's last night at a Christmas party..... nectar of the Gods
I've been using the new Luxilon mystery green string for the last 2 days and TBH, it's great. The reviews in that thread have been mixed at best but it appears that most of the reviewers are the less manly type of player who use hybrids or multis.....lol
Seriously though, the reviews were not good but this string has only a bit less bite then TB but has a good deal more controllable power. I've got it at 52/50: hit with it yesterday at 49 degrees and today at 65. Great depth both days and great control.
Depending on price I would consider this one. It almost feels like it Hyperion and Tour Bite had a baby it would be this one
All the 6.1 95 love is driving me crazy.
IPA beer?! Which one exactly? You ever been to England bad-call? If you haven't, you'd definitely enjoy it if beers, real ales, etc are your kind of thing. IPA is of course readily available here in pubs up and down the land (pubs being my fave environment along with tennis courts.)
switch around a bit between a handful of microbrewed IPAs. guess i'm a bit of a IPAswitchaholic. here's the beer thread that mikeler started.

yes have been to England and had a great time staying with locals outside London. even rented an auto with manual stick (most everyone drives stick except elderly or disabled so i was told ) and drove all around (seeing the sights, castles, etc) on the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD.
Sierra Nevada is awesome...one of my favorites.
But since I am in a bar sometimes longer then needed for business reasons, I stick with the Miller Lites.
Haha... sights and castles are all well and good, but I do hope you managed to visit a decent pub while you were here.
Cheers for link... I do recall it now... will check it out.
Enlighten this heathen here, what is a Sierra Nevada?

I've never dared to click on this thread before, and when I finally muster the courage, you are all talking a bout beer! Hooray!
But seriously, go drink some Fat Tire and you will forget all about your cloudy Sierra Nevada...

Lately, here in the states at least, there are some great D.I.Y. Home Brew kits (and I'm not talking about the cr@p Mr.Beer.. yuck!!). For about $20, one (if willing to invest the time and work) can brew outrageously great ales at home and produce about 48 beers for this sum of money. This is my next hobby!
