Djokovic is breaking records at an alarming rate

This tedious and premature discussion should be tabled until he passes 17 majors, gets the CGS and then 300 weeks as #1. Wait until then till you talk about his endless "breaking of records."
#Thirty #TrueStory

And it's those years of #Fedal which delayed #Djokovic's ascent by several pivotal years and #Djokovic still won't be able to surpass #Roger or #Rafa in the historically-weighted #ITF-sanction GS events. On top of that, he's widely unpopular like tennis hasn't seen in decades. #EuroBTeam #Dust

...Angie

Nay, he will definitely surpass Nadal and Sampras, but surpassing Fed remains 50/50 at this moment of time.

I agree, and think many Djokovic fans (even with all the bravado of their current posts) don't think he will either, which is why they are so living the current moment.

I actually have a huge admiration for Djokovic. I think he and Federer are the most gifted and complete/all-surface players ever, which is why I also think Nole has underachieved. Roger thrived during his prime years, but Novak hasn't. He temporarily lost the #1 ranking in 2012, 2013 was the year of Nadal, and in 2014 he didn't clinch the YE#1 until the WTFs (against a player who only made it to one slam final that year). Why such a 3-year dip between the so-dominant years of 2011 and 2015? Whatever the reason, it's why he likely won't surpass Federer and Nadal in the most-important criterion of GOATness--slam titles.
I agree with that he may possibly have lost the chance of surpassing Fed by losing all those winnable matches that he choked away when in a leading position.

Angie, Angie,

It is he, who donated to Croatia when floods made mess over there. It is he who spent some time with Borna to help him get to the next level. It is he who accepted Marin's celebrations/behavior with Thompson (or whatever that idiots name is) after his accidental GS title. No need for bullsh!t, jealous comment like that from you. As for catching up to Rafa and Federer: if tennis was only about slams, then Rafa will be looking at his back by end of 2017 and Federer will be in tears by then. If it is about overall contribution and achievement - Rafa is already looking into his back and scratching his a..ss how to catch up (read Murray comments after the Paris masters).

In Marin's defense, others organized the celebration with Thompson. I heard Marin felt really uncomfortable.
Concentrate on the present, it is great. The future looks bright but the present is clear.
That poster is probably not even Croatian and could not name biggest 5 cities of that country, you are wasting your time.

You are correct. I don't anything about #Croatia and really don't care. They probably drive little cars and have poor eating habits.

Dont be #mad.

You really went in, didn't you. It's really not all that serious. You might try going outside and playing tennis instead of sitting indoors talking about it all the time. You can find a wide variety of tennis equipment and apparel with free shipping at Tennis Warehouse. Give them a try. I'm fairly certain they mail things to #Europe. #Dust

I feel like a lot of these records were just made up by the OP. Not saying they're not true but i'm fascinated to know where the following records are kept:
2015 20+ wins over each other member of the Big Four (Federer, Nadal and Murray) Stands alone (Why would the ATP have records about the Big Four and wins against them???)
2012, 2013, 2015 3 years winning 24 matches vs. top 10 opponents Stands alone (24 matches seems oddly specific, did someone have 23 matches and you've chosen this cut off point? Very irrelevant "record")
2007 Youngest men's singles player to win Miami Open (19 years and 316 days old) Stands alone (Now we are talking about the age someone won a title, bloody hell...)

Some of these have just been created to suit Djokovic...
2011–2015 2 streaks of 5 consecutive titles Stands alone
2009–2015 6 China Open titles Stands alone (The tournament has only been around for the past 12 years and then back in the 90s! Is that even a record?? Gee I guess Tomic is the king of Bogota cause he stands alone in winning 2 Bogota Open titles?!?!?)

He's an amazing guy and has many ACTUAL records like most prize money in a season, consecutive winning streak but some of the these are just a joke..

1) Texas was never in Europe, some geography education may help you a little bit.
2) now, to math:
Angie: 3600 posts in 2.5 years
Dr325i: 5400 posts in 8 years
What were you saying about "sitting indoors and typing instead of enjoying outdoors"?
3) you don't seem to be a bright individual...

Why "alarming"? "Stunning" would be a better choice of words...
He hasn't broken the biggest records in tennis yet though:
Most slams (Fed), most masters (Nadal), most WTFs (Fed), most tier 1(Fed), most titles overall (Connors), most weeks at #1 (Fed).
My favorite one that he broke so far is best season : 2015.

1) No one ever said Texas was in Europe. Who cares about #Croatia. Even #Novak isn't very popular. Pay attention, #OKAY.
2) Was this supposed to be your "gotcha" moment? Eight years indoors and you still can't troll an old woman well.
3) Oh, SNAP! as my granddaughter says. The puppetmaster judges intelligence also? I wanna see the receipts.

There appears to be grand exaggerations of #Novak's place in tennis history (as seen in the OP's original article). We see this every time the glory-seeking flip-floppers hang on every thread of #Novak's coattail. It suits you well.

Shows how much you know about tennis...with every post you make.

#2- Gottcha moment? No. Reality - yes. And easily shown in 2 numbers (or "receipts" if you want to call it that way). However, you do not seem to get the point of it and keep telling me to get out of a chair, etc.

I also see that you have found a new toy at your mature age, called Twitter? So much fun, right?

You also do not seem to understand and (connect dots) popularity-wise. Someone who earns #2 spot of sponsor paid tennis players ($40M/yr) in the world is indeed very popular, and guess what, none of his stuff sells in Serbia. Maybe you should teach Uniqlo, Head and adidas how to do business? After all, you are an experienced grandma...

Why dont you do your research then. He has 20+ wins over Federer, Nadal and Murray. No one else has achieved this therefore it is an actual record
He now has 27 match win vs top 10 opponents this year, therefore again it is a stand alone record as the closest a player has come to this record has been Djokovic and Nadal at 24 wins vs top ten opponents.
Youngest player to win Miami Open, it is a stand alone record just as Becker winning Wimbledon at a young age is.
6 China Open titles is a record as he is the only player to win the china open title 6 times

Please do your research and do not act like these records are made artifically as he has broken numerous records and they are all legit.

I didn't say it wasn't true... I just said it's a strange "record". I doubt i'll ever see the ATP site mention the person with the most wins over a the big 4...
I didn't realize that the Miami Open was as important as Wimbledon! I guess Tomic has the record of being the youngest player to win the Bogota Open! Hurry someone go post a thread about this amazing record
And thank you so much I didn't know what 6 China Open titles meant. I'm so glad you explained it as Djokovic having 6 China Open titles. Again is that really such a fantastic record? I feel that the China Open is far less superior than say Federer's 7 Wimbledons or hell even Djoko's 5 Australian Opens.

My point was that you've pretty much just come across these achievements by him and labelled them 'records'. Am I correct in saying that? Or is there some wikipedia/website page that discussed some of these boring records.

Hey, who's majoring in minors now, because it sure ain't Novak.

It's an unbelievable resume, and only further underscores my point that he, Fed, and Nadal are the three greatest of the Open Era.

Still, the list of records remains centered on Masters 1000 events. He'll need to do more with GS records to dethrone King Fed. He still has some time.

Lol, I couldn't help but think of that crazy AngieB after Novak won the French Open. She must've been in such a deep depression and probably still is - karma really is a b1tch at times.

Every unique achievement isn't a "record."

Yesterday, Florian Meyer became the first player to EVER knock Andreas Seppi out in the quarterfinals at Halle. This is a very nice thing for Florian. It is not a record.
