I’d say 40-15 certainly helped to distinguish between the good Djokovic fans and the bad Djokovic fans (aka Federer haters). Fortunately, most Djokovic fans are still pleasant, but there are very vocal exceptions.

Oddly perhaps, it never changed my view at all. (i.e the bad ones were bad before Wimbledon 2019 and have stayed that way). The good ones stayed the same as well so they are to be commended.

Thanks to the Ignore button I've managed to eliminate most of the above but they still slip through.
But before that I genuinely believed that all the fan bases were equally good/bad and I just don't feel like that any more. It's the way that some of them target fan sites/tweets/Fed videos in order to spam with gifs about it. There isn't an equivalent from other fans - Fed fans don't target Nadal fan videos with AO 17 references, Nadal fans don't spam Fed stuff with "2008". And I do accept that it's not ALL Djoko fans that do this stuff, it's that I don't really see it from other groups. That banner at Cincinatti - I genuinely couldn't imagine another fan base that would do that.

^ In all honesty, though, I think Djokovic fans overall are pretty well-behaved. Probably the most pleasant fanbase overall. Unfortunately, it has its own bad apples as every other fanbase does.

In all honesty, some Djokovic fans here were horrible in 2015 (IMO anyway). They came in clusters as a bunch of new users, or new users that were DA's. Then they left in 2017, and luckily I think the majority of them aren't back now, but that might just be because I put them all on ignore lol. Lately I think all fanbases are a bit mellow with no live tennis to watch, but I do expect it will get worse as Nadal and likely Djokovic match/surpass Federer's slam record when tennis resumes.
Can't entirely blame them for it since Federer's fanbase has bad apples too, but I'm ready for some ugliness in the coming months if I'm totally honest.

That works both ways. What is the point of many in the Djokovic fan base endlessly posting "40-15" in nearly every thread? You are not of that ilk, obviously, but posting 40-15 is the personification of petty hatred and jealousy. The match is a year old now, but it never stops.

I don't see nothing bad in 40:15 meme. Novak won 3 times being down match points, against one of the best players ever... We, Novak fans, are proud of it and should and will repeat that result.
Federer fans should finally accept their idol lost so many times having match points, against one of main rivals, and stop being sore when someone mention reality... 40:15 is not offend, it's Fed big failure and will off course always be argument in goat discussion, and it's great moment of Novak career that his fans will always mention... Deal with it, and take punches like a man...

Is that a bad thing? The whole mean girls style "oh he wants to be loved so bad it's cringe" that is popular here really feels weird and a bit creepy to me. Seems like a spiteful reason to dislike someone. I think there are more valid reasons to not like Djokovic (personally I haven't liked his handling of coronavirus obviously).
Novak also wants the records /to surpass Federer.
I think he'd take the records and being unloved (he gets PLENTY of love in Serbia) than being loved with Fed having them.
