Cancel out titles won by both, you are comparing

Djokovic
6 AO + 3 WB + 5 WTF + 1 YE #1 + 64 weeks at #1 (and growing) + NCYGS + Golden Masters

Nadal
11 RG + Olympic Gold

Who is greater?

Him. Very difficult to say. But I would give Nadal the advantage for now due to 18 slam titles.

But it is really very close and I see Djokovic surpassing Nadal (and Federer).

Slams aren't everything. Federer isn't just better than Nadal because he has 2 slams more. He is sitting at 310 weeks (half of it without a break), 6 WTFs, 5 YEC #1 and is beating his biggest rivals with 38 years.

You have to look at the big picture. Djokovic is at least as good as Nadal because of all his other stats like Nole Slam, 5 WTFs, weeks, YEC #1.

It's getting harder to put Nadal above Djokovic honestly. Yesterday's win helped Djoker's case a fair bit in the areas where it was deficient.

I don't really think No.1 weeks and YEC matter now. Both of them have been on top for years and in fact the YEC are a joke, it's just a tournament with a best of 3 final. No wonder people are more nostalgic about the Sampras vs Becker finals 20+ years ago than any of these 2 sets to love final matches in the past 10 years or so.

But it's hard to say. First Nadal has beaten Federer from the mid and late 2000s on at 3 different Slams while at the same time he started losing more often to Djokovic. The latter has beaten both of them for years in various slam finals as well, except for a few occassions. If Djoker wins another RG he is definitely ahead of every player in terms of exclusivity but you could say the same thing about Nadal if he ever wins Melbourne again. I might give Djoker the edge over Nadal for now, due to a better Slam ratio and maybe because of their h2h, even though I don't really know their h2h when it comes to slams and finals.

Nadal has had two strong rivalries to contend with throughout his career, and if you factor in how many weeks and years he has been ranked #2 into the equation, at least for now Rafa is greater, but that can change over the next few years. For me Rafa will always be my favorite regardless of what happens in the future! :)

Nadal. Djokovic at 17 Slams can be considered equal to Nadal and greater when both have the same number of Slam titles.

This Wimbledon was huge for Djokovic and a big opportunity missed for Federer and Nadal.
