Donald Dung must be hearing MC Hammer over and over in his head during his match......
"Can't touch this"

After all these years,,,Donlad still playing very Immateur tennis. Double fault on break point and so on. but that isn't the real problem here. Donald leaving too many groundies short in the middle of the court. These balls are like nice practice feed balls to Cilic..............LOL

I live in the Atlanta area, and I guarantee you there are guys playing AA level ALTA that can beat Donald Dung.

For those not in Atlanta so not familiar with it, ALTA is a huge local amateur league. About 100,000 people play in the league.

Um, right. Give the guy some credit - he might not be lighting the pro tour on fire, but he's hovered around 100 for a while and has had a high in the 70's (I think). Anyone who can beat him is not going to be playing rec tennis.

You don't understand ALTA. There is someone, probably more than one, playing AA1 ALTA (that is the highest level) who could beat Donald Dung. I guarantee it.

It was interesting how Pat McEnroe trashed Young during the match. Of course, everything McEnroe said was true, but many people will still take it personally.

People in this thread I think are forgetting that he cruised through AO qualifying. 6-3 was his closest set. He just isn't good enough to beat top guys.

You should have seen the ESPN3 stream for the Young match. They slander that guy to hell. It was very lulzy.

That's because Donald Young is arrogant, and hypes himself up along with a few other of his fans (who have now receded into the darkness and shall not be named) who thought he was the next coming of Federer.

I remember saying that he was trash and Isner would be a way better player then him. Looks like I was right.

He once said he was going to win every slam atleast 2 slams.

I'm going to blame the fact the he refuses to leave Atlanta to train with a real coach who has experience with pros. What a baby.

I think he is happy with now a career playing U.S challengers and playing Robert Kendrick every week.

I like the sarcasm. Weird how hungry he was to be the number one player in the world when he was 15. Just watched that documentary, Unstrung. It's like he's a different person.

Donald Young is just too arrogant and is not as good as players his age or younger. Cilic has accomplished more than Young ever had. Cilic was ranked as high as #9 in the world. Young could not even get into the Top 70. Yet Donald once said his goal was to win all grand slams at least twice. Not even Federer, Nadal, Williams sisters would say such a thing. He is no Nadal or Chang. He is no longer the youngest anymore. Donald Young even lost to a younger player - Ryan Harrison last year when Ryan was only 17 years old at that time when Ryan beat Donald.

Even Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori who is younger than Donald has won an ATP tournament and was ranked as high as #56 in the world.

It is true he is no longer the youngest, and it is about time. Berankis and Del Ponis of Argentina are younger and ranked higher (well Del Ponis was). Ryan Harrison and Jack Sock have beaten him in the last year. It probably wont be long until Dimitrov and Tomic are ranked above, and Nishikori is ranked above him again, along with probably all scoring wins over Young should they face him anytime soon.

Watching the few minutes that I did of that match, it looked like Young could hit rally shots OK but just doesn't have that one weapon to pressure the opponent.

Young is a joke, and a fool. Seriously, look at the way he dresses! Rubbish like that at professional, established tournements is extremely annoying to see. If you are gonna dress like a gangster, please don't do it on the court.

Someone that arrogant really should learn his place. He doesn't have a prayer of winning a major, much less breaking top 50 legitamately

Again, none of you have any idea about ALTA. AA1, the top level is comprised of a lot of former NCAA players, former satellite tour players, and even as an example, a Doug Flach who beat Agassi at Wimbledon back in the day, played ALTA. Donald Dung would be a great #1 on a AA1 team, and even then would not be a lock to win Line 1.

DY does not seem to use his lefty advantages. He stands halfway in between the singles line and middle when he serves on the deuce court and hits a twist serve practically guaranteeing that his righty opponent gets a forehand almost every return.

Donald is still young. However my opinion from the match I saw him play would tell him that its time to let go of the securtity blanket. His parents did a super job supporting and developing his game give him a strong foundation to build on. Its time for the parents to let go a little and let Donald be coached by a fulltime coach and and he has to add a physical trainner in the mix as well to build on that awsome foundation he has.

Right now he looks like he has a lot mental inerita in his game. With more experence playing teir 1 events it should be a non issue in time.
I think he can be a top 10 player if he puts the time in. I hope he does.

Did Young lose to someone from Tennis Tennis or to a player with incredible upside? Reading these comments you think Young was bagel'd in a WTT match at the local park.

There's a guy at my club who just had his 75th birthday and could probably give Donald Duck a run for his money.

I'm sure a 75 year old guy can beat a Disney Character, but to give any male ATP player even in the top 500 a run for his money is beyond a stretch.

Its' you who have no idea what pro tennis is about. Former NCAA/satellite tour players can play with anyone, but have no serious chance of beating an active top 100 ATP in any meaningful way (in other words, consistently, without it being a rather lucky day).

Doug Flach was not as successful as Young is even now, but yes, 15 years ago, he'd have a real shot at beating Young. At THIS moment, he doesn't....again...except as a fluke-luck win. Young is out there training at tour level daily, and playing world-class competitive tennis...a far cry from playing in ALTA for fun!

In trying to run Young down, you displayed total ignorance about tennis. Your silly comment would have been fine as an exaggeration, but now, you've tried to defend it in multiple posts, indicating you believe it. That makes you rather dense.

LOLZZZ... again. I played D1 in southern cal 25ish (?) years ago. I am from Palos Verdes CA. Pete Sampras is from my town and high school. Serious tennis area. no way in hell I could beat a touring pro after I stopped college tennis. college guy are not that good compared to pros. you have no idea what you are talking about because you have never played anyone over a typical club hacks. (I consider myself a club hack now btw)

Lots of great players playing ALTA at AA1 for sure but, they aren't near top 100 level or anywhere near it. Even Doug Flach has a long way to go before competing at that level.

Cilic is a real deal player. Young's game has outgrown his parents abilities as coaches. Now is the time to move to a real deal coach and training program.
