done with nike shoes... cb 3.3

ordered 2 pairs addidas B6's today. The cb 3.3 just hurt my ankles too much. even after 6 hours of playing. Its the inside ankle hard plastic support that wraps from the heel to the lace. does not allow the side of the shoe to flex down when my inside ankle pushes down on it during extreme movements.

I will be returning the 3.3's. (since I ordered it online at nike.com, the customer service rep said I can return it within 30 days EVEN though I played 6 hours and them !)

Interesting. The heel doesn't look any high than the heel on the Breathe Cage 2's. Did you guys have the same problem with that shoe if you ever wore it?

Cages had leather where the CB 3.3s have that white plastic.

Yeah. Its the design. The plastic piece does not give that part of the 3.3 any give at all. Just digs. I ended up worrying about hitting my foot as opposed to running for the ball.

Just started using the 3.3's a week ago. I dont notice any problem with the ankle.

They haven't bothered me to much yet. They are still stiff and new so I'm not expecting perfection out of the box.

I'm getting mine soon! I hope I won't have the same problems. I do have flat feet and that's what seems to be a common thing among those who are complaining.

the CB 3.3 is like the Breathe Cage 2 on steroids; similar fit, beefed up materials on the upper and sole for greater durability, therefore stiffer requiring more break in. After a while they are fine.

Are you lacing them all the way to the very top? If so, you may want to consider trying them without using the extra "heel slip" eyelet. I have no problem with the CB 3.3 laced to the 6th eyelet instead of the (optional) 7th.

6th or 7th. doesn't matter. If the shoe is cinched tight it happens. it just does not fit my feet. Its much worse on my right ankle.

Now i see what the OP problem is. It is the heel cup/heel support design of the CB 3.3. The heel cup is VERY beefed up compared to previous models. I have not worn the shoes yet but saw them in person.

On the outside- around the heel and ankle.

ALL shoes that I know of have the same support it is just that most shoes have it built into the inside of the shoe. If you feel around the heel's of your shoes, you will feel a hard plastic and similar shaped heel cup. It's not that the heel cup is made of leather in the Breathes but it is just placed inside like most shoes. The outside covering is extra support. The Nike zoom breathe 2k10 have it.

The barricade 6 have a similar thing as well.
