As with seemingly every tournament Roger Federer plays, there are numerous records he can set during the 2007 Australian Open.

If he reaches at least the quarterfinals, it will be his 11th consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinal, which would put him in second place behind Ivan Lend with 14.

If he reaches at least the semifinals, it will be a record 11th consecutive Grand Slam semifinal (previously 10 by Ivan Lendl).

If he reaches the final, it will be a record seventh consecutive Grand Slam final (previously six by Laver, Budge, Bromwich.) Also, he would then have a 35 match winning streak, making him and Bjorn Borg the only male players in the Open Era to have two match winning streaks of at least 35 matches.

If he wins the Australian Open, he will become the first male player ever to win three different Grand Slams at least three times.
