We will believe and will never stop believing that Federer will get an 18th Grand Slam. Many more Slams, achievements and records are on their way!

This is only for Federer fans. No Nadal, Djokovic and Murray trolls allowed.

I'll be realistic. If he can avoid any tough 4 or 5 set matches in both the quarters and semis, his chances of winning go up exponentially. That would be crucial for him. We'll see.

At the US Open Cilic helped Federer avoid a tough 4 or 5 set match by absolutely annihilating him in straight sets thank you very much!

Federer is really just here to give us some more Nadal-Federer matches which we love, and basically help Nadal reach 18+ slam titles.....

I am the most objective Federer fan here in TW, and I believe that Federer will get that 18th GS in 2016. Book it.

I hope he wins 1 more but I am not counting on it.

After seeing Wimby and USO this year I don't think Roger has the belief any longer.

Sure he has the game but belief is what it takes to grab a GS title.

Lol. You make derogatory remarks towards Nadal fans every day. You encroach even in the Nadal news thread calling all of them obsessed over his looks and them being middle aged women. Pathetic!
Didn't all your troll posts get deleted by the mod in the NN thread just couple of days back? You were trolling so hard, that the mod had to even leave a post asking you to cut it down.

As FWW2014 you were writing PED accusatory posts towards Nadal all over the forum. You have been trolling with each of your accounts. Lol at "greater quality of posts"

Every day! I dont even.post every day! No one else has a problem with me. Just you!
I have had some troll post yes. But also some normal posts. You just attack fans. Also posting a funny video made by French TV is nothing to get worked up over. Nadal ped joes are fair game, it is one of the biggest running jokes in tennis. Ever seen those funny Facebook chats, Lance Armstrong has a Nadal pic. It is funny. Nadal and Peds is a long running joke. Hopefully it is just a joke!

Lol, what are you going to do when F announces his retirement from tennis?

But I give him this he is trying hard to get #18:

Edberg has REALLY simplified his all-court attacking tennis. Now his net approaches are not based on perfectly placed forehands. Rather, it's often based on taking the time away from the opponent, by hitting those baseline half-volleys, and approaching the net behind them. This kind of attacking is so higher-percentage, that I actually believe that he could execute it! Annacone's strategy to shorten the points with bomb forehands was not high-percentage, it never worked, and actually made Roger more vulnerable to guys like Berdych.

TBH, with Djokovic/Nadal declining, there is a slight chance that Roger could actually win multiple slams with this improved strategy! His confidence to the new racquet has improved, and Edberg will improve his net attacking even more in the off-season, so who knows. It could well be that Roger will once more prove us what he's capable of!

It feels like the OP is a non-Federer fan trying to get other fan bases to dislike the Federer fan base.

look at the OP's recent threads and comments... They're suspicious to say the least.

 Your kind of thinking is hilarious. You seriously think I am not a Federer fan? Then I suggest you to read the original post I made.

We will believe and will never stop believing that Federer will get an 18th Grand Slam. Many more Slams, achievements and records are on their way.

You can clearly see that I am wishing the best for Federer. And as for my recent threads?

One of my recent thread is "If Federer becomes No.1, will it be the greatest comeback of all time?", I am clearly choosing Roger as the favourite to have the "greatest" comeback of all time.

And as for my recent posts:

Nadal fans getting insecure by the minute. Just admit it Davydenko has a better match record to Nadal. You can't deny that and give ridiculous reasons why so.

If Davydenko has a better h2h that means he is the better player when playing against Nadal.

This also means that whenever Nadal plays against Davydenko he collapses and has a very weak mindset than he has with Federer for example.

In fact Federer has a dominating 19-2 h2h against Davydenko. A player Nadal struggles against, has a weak mindset and a negative h2h to, Federer has dominated. So there you go another reason why Federer is better than Nadal.

Definitely Weeks at No.1.

It matters about the consistency throughout the whole year- who has had it the most deserves to called the better player.

Say someone has been No.3 for 10 months in a year, and another player has been consistently No.1 for the same period of time. The No.1 player has won 10 titles. The No.3 player has won 2 titles. However just in the last two tournaments of the year the No.3 player is able to win them and becomes the No.1 and finishes as World No.1, does he deserve to be called the best player of that year? Definitely not. The best player would be the player who been most consistent at the top level at No.1, which in this case is Federer for an amazing 302 weeks.

Year-End #1 doesn't matter if you have finished as No.1 if for the majority of the year you were ranked No.2 or No.3. It only matters who has had it the most in the past 52 weeks. And Roger Federer has had it more than any player, so this shows that he is the best player to have ever played the game.

If we are talking about the best rivalry, then it has to be a rivalry with Federer in it.

The two best rivalries Federer has had are with Nadal and Djokovic.

Federer-Nadal rivalry is too lop-sided but however is great and exciting to watch because you know what a great accomplishment it would be for Federer if he somehow does manage to overcome Nadal. You know there there is always a chance and Federer fans like us never lose belief.

The Federer-Djokovic rivalry is quite even and has superb quality tennis. Last year and in 2011 for example it was quite lop-sided and stressful to watch since Djokovic would win most of the matches. But now however Federer has started winning many more matches against Djokovic and Djokovic is no longer a dangerous obstacle as he was in 2011 and 2013. Now we can be more relaxed as Djokovic can now be much more easily defeated and pulverized by Federer and isn't as big a threat he was 3 years ago in 2011.

Federer was past his peak in 2007- that's why he lost to Djokovic. Had he played him in 2006 he would have easily won.

And by the way Djokovic fans must be feeling extremely devastated after seeing their hero lose to way past his prime 33 year old Federer in their most recent meeting in Shanghai.

Well 29 year old past his prime Federer was able to beat Djokovic in his peak in 2011.

Then just think how peak Federer would defeat Djokovic- in most of the matches they play 2004-2007 Federer would beat 2011 Djokovic. Federer from that time was far more dominant.

Djokovic's win-lose match record was 70-6 (92%), which is impressive, however Federer's was better- 92-5 (94%) in 2006.

And please, you need to be more specific about which year you are talking out about when you are saying "peak Federer". Is it 2004? 05? 06? Or 07? You should only choose 1 year like how you have chosen for Djokovic- 2011.

So for me I think Federer's peak year was 2006, and as mentioned he had a better match record than Djokovic from 2011, so that's why peak Federer is better than peak Djokovic.

Don't forget about Federer.
He in fact is in much better form than Nadal, who is right now injured after his recent appendicitis operation. You don't know how his form is going to be after he comes back on the tour. He could play even worse than how awfully he was playing before withdrew from the WTF, so you can't be sure how it is going to turn out for him.

And as for Djokovic, in their most latest meeting who won? Federer did. I would say that Federer's form is as good as, if not better than, Djokovic's. He is actually as likely as Djokovic next year to win a Grand Slam, and has a much better chance than Nadal.

Other than Roger, I don't have any favourite players. Nadal and Djokovic are interesting to see. Maybe Murray also...

I am wishing the answer to the question can be Del Potro because I enjoy his game a lot, but no it can't be him since he has won a Grand Slam.

But to be honest, players who have not won a Grand Slam won't have been noticed as much as Grand Slam champions, and woudn't have won the crowd support, fame and popularity as much as Slam winners have.

It is simple as this. Most people who watch and are interested in tennis would be fans of one of the Big Four. And once you are thoroughly supporting a player let it be Federer, Nadal, Djokovic or Murray, and excitedly following their matches, the others have no meaning to you. Because you know that if that other player you like plays against your favourite player, you would clearly support you're favourite player- the player you are a fan of.

Once someone has entered your heart until that player retires wou will support them and will have no space for any other players.

So for me, there is no other favourite player apart from Roger Federer, let it be with Grand Slams or without.

If this was asked asked around 2 years ago however, then the clear favourite would have been Murray since he had not won a slam at that time.

Congratulations to Roger, very well deserved.

Another reason why Federer is better than Nadal, and Djokovic doesn't even come close!

And Murray, well... I don't need to say anything about Murray in comparison with Roger, that is self-explanatory.

And this only a few... there are many more. I suggest you read my posts and threads more carefully before making such a ridiculous statement.

Hasn't it struck some people yet that after this year's Wimbledon and US Open, he actually does have a really good chance at winning it? In this year's Wimbledon he played amazing until the final, and in the final, he switched on his GOAT mode and played masterclass to save 3 match points in the 4th set, and had great momentum, and definitely the odds were on Federer to win the match and if he had he would have gotten an 18th Grand Slam. And as for the US Open Djokovic had lost in the semis and Federer all he needed to do was to win 2 more matches against players who were outside the Top Ten at that time. Easy. However he did not take advantage of Djokovic's loss, and only because Cilic was firing and on god-mode, that's the only only reason why he lost. He could've won his 18th Grand Slam also in the US Open. So this shows that he still very much had the possiblilty of winning at Wimbledon and the US Open, so why do some people think he won't win another slam?

What did I say... Hitting on the rise will get him to multiple slams. That's been the biggest reason, even on his peak, for his success: Hitting on the rise and taking time away from opponents and hence dominating rallies and eventually approaching the net. Between 2010-2016 he hit way less on the rise, he backed up too far behind the baseline and hence gave away his advantage. From behind the baseline he had to ballbash perfect forehands and it was a way lower percentage strategy. I'm glad that Ljubicic could get to his head this biggest reason of his success in his peak finally! If he were to hit on the rise more in 2010-2016 he would have won multiple more slams defo. Well, now he will win multi slams more, for as long as he keeps hitting on the rise.

And like I have suggested here back in 2014, Nadal wouldn't dominate him if he hit his BH on the rise and didn't back up. Turned out it was exactly like that. I knew it, I know why he was so successful in his peak years. Glad to see him back to that strategy. If I were his coach, he would have done this already in 2014.
