Federer prefers slow courts, not fast courts!

I would say medium-fast is Federer best. Medium and Fast can be right up their on any low bouncing surface.

This.

For me his best ever tennis came on either Houston indoor surface 2003-2004 YEC, Shanghai indoors 2006-2007 or Madrid indoors in 2006. Maybe USO too in 2004-2006.

If they kept that Shanghai surface I think he’d be on closer to 7-8 YEC.

Slow, low bouncing courts are great for Fed at this age where his movement is compromised. That's why he was so good at Wimbledon this year. That's shut he'll do way better at the USO than at Cincy.

In fact at the Hopman Cup he was saying that his off-season training had been preparation for playing on slower courts. Might have been part of the reason for going out early in AO?

Amidst all the heartbreak of Wimby it seems to be forgotten that four years after us all being told that was his "last chance" he pushed Djoko way harder than he did then, something we couldn't have predicted in '15.

I wouldn't blame him if he decides soon he's just had enough of the wear and tear. But if he still has the willingness he may yet get another chance.
