I agree that Berdych is over-rated quite a bit. He does possess enormous potential in the form of his forehand, and his height promises a strong serve (but frankly his serve doesn't live up to expectations). In terms of GS success...unluckily for him he either meets Davydenko, Blake, Nadal, or Federer around thee 4th round or in the quarters; and while the first two have yet to show themselves as serious GS threats, they are major hassles for the Czech: last year's AO saw Davydenko take him out in R16; at Wimbledon he got bundled out by Nadal in the quarters, and in the '06 USO Blake eliminated him in the R16. So no, I can't see Berdych troubling Federer at all in this match; maybe a tie-breaker for one of the 3 sets but that would be it for the Czech.
[Just for the record, I can't understand Tipsarevic's performance: the guy was playing well, yes, but I've watched him play better. Federer's errors really cost him in that match.]
