Never figured you to be a Linux guy. Since we are all "shills" for the Ukranian, I thought I'd mention that Pro Supex Black Fusion (hex poly) recently came out. Maybe Drakulie will be able to test that and compare with the Black Magic.

not a Genesis fan but maybe Thunder Blast will change that. still a PS BAM fan tho. would like to see if PS BF less powerful and a bit more control than BG.
The exact RSI testing methology is becoming less and less clear.
In that extract above they say that the average playtest time was 33.5 hours.

What poly is going to feel good after 33.5 hours? Are their comments based on the first few hours in, after 10 hours, 20 hours, or what?

If you look at the top of this page, you'll see that there were 38 playtesters with an NTRP range of 3.5 - 6.0

Black Magic offers good power, average spin, and decent tension maintenance. It's not as powerful as WC Scorpion and waiting on whether it is as temperature sensitive as Scorpion.
For the price, it can't be beat.

No idea. I know where he plays, though I don't know who he is and he won't play me. I've asked several times.
As far as black magic goes, I always thought it was a pretty junk string. Kind of surprising, though everyone has different tastes of course. I thought it didn't compare to similar black strings such as RPM or BC at all.
Really the only thing to say is congrats to Genesis on making such a highly rated string. If most people like it, then it is a "good string".

Price also is a consideration since it is one of the cheaper strings out there that offers good bang for the buck.

I prefer BHSR to B5E. B5E has about the same spin potential but a lot more pop, which I dont need. The crispness of BHSR is really wonderful.
As for Black Magic Im enjoying it on the Max 200G I use for hitting around. It does well with the trampoline effect and flatter hitting. The feel for volleys is phenomenal too.... Id never use this in a match but it does help me when Im concentrating on flattening out my newer semiwestern forehand. Back in the 80's when I used a 200G I had an eastern forehand but the BM does a nice job of putting topspin on the FH with the semi western even... 84 inch headsize is rough for doing it very consistently with an exaggerated follow through (it does have a wide-ish beam). So 200G users... this iss a nice poly to try (GOD does that thing crush flat forehands and slice backhands with BM).

Imo its very good and puts a lot of action on the ball .
Nice vid. The technique and swing off the backhand reminds me a lot of my cousins and a bit of 2 Argentinians .. Acasuso/ Gaudio and maybe Calleri a bit too.

I could say the same thing about BHBR. Nothing special. It's average in every way, it loses tension quickly, and had a plastic-like feel to it that's reminiscent of MSV Focus hex...

This is not Science, however, we know the lab tests can be misleading as well.
These guys are asked to compare the sample to the string that they USUALLY use!
You need to look past the numbers and read the comments.
e.g. the Adrenaline user liked it, The Black Code user was not impressed, the Dunlop Silk user liked the control and spin but said it had no Pop, etc.
It's all in how you interpret the data.
It's not perfect, but it can help you narrow down the field from 800+ to a couple of dozen!
All in all, Black Magic got very good marks.

I am not biased toward RPM. RPM has its weaknesses like any other poly. There is no such thing as perfect poly. Proline 2, Pro hurr tour, RPM blast are excellent polyester strings. but each has its weakness. but i didn't like Black magic because it has many MORE weaknesses compared to other premium polys like Proline 2 and RPM.
How do like that for an UNBIASED and objective opinion ?

If you like RPM stay with it.
RPM is indeed superior to black magic, it is made for highest performance on the Tour, not for playability in the 4.0 level.
BTW Yonex Poly Tour Pro is outperforms any round poly out there by a long margin, it would make BM look like a dental floss.

I did notice that higher the Swing speed, Better performance results from RPM blast. ON the days when my arm is nice and loose, i can literally see the spin and power increasing drastically with RPM blast on my serves and groundies. So i can only imagine what it can do for the Pros on the tour with Sick Swing speeds.
Do you think Yonex poly tour pro is better for control, power and spin compared to RPM ?? I know you like the Yonex stuff....

It is more powerful than RPM, but it holds tension better and performs for longer time(it doesn't die in 4 hours) but it doesn't generate as much spin, however it generates good spin.
Worth it a try, if you use a 16x18 like i do, yeah, it is just great, last strings i'm gonna try will be the alien(I don't expect anything from it), Ruff code for full bed and XR1. After that I'm gonna decide between one of these poly and maybe an alternative with XR1 hybrid.
