Good activities to supplement tennis?

I was thinking what activities would be good to do which would supplement tennis. I was thinking kind of like a 'prehab' or fitness approach.

One i've thought would be good, would be stand up paddle boarding. I've only done it once, but it really works your lower legs and core for balance. I've been thinking about buying my own board, but they are pretty pricy. Any other ideas?

Depends on your level and opposition. In my neighborhood (3.0 ish), most full best of three matches are won with cardio endurance. Short set, no ad deals depend more on skill because they are over before cardio endurance becomes a factor.

Paddle boarding will strengthen your core and legs as you mention, but I doubt it does much for your cardio unless you really push. Find activities that will turn you into the Energizer bunny.

Pilates --- same benefit of working the core as stand up paddle boarding plus you work your shoulder stabilizers and also can work your legs. A large number of professional athletes are discovering the benefits of Pilates.

Agree with yoga. My movement and balance were never more effortless in recent history after doing one or usually two classes a week for much of the winter. This was perhaps eight or nine years ago. Remarkably helpful.

I'm now 51 and my personal fountain of youth for my legs has been riding my bicycle ideally twice a week for about an hour - sometimes three rides a week. I teach and also coach high school teams. When I'm keeping up with my riding, my knees feel great and my endurance is profoundly stronger. Even if I'm spending a lot of time on the courts, the bike doesn't add additional pounding to my legs and even if I'm a little spent, I can still ride using lower gears and get some benefit.

All the above compliment tennis: footwork, rhythm, coordination, long kinetic chains, dexterity.

I love going mountain biking; the short "sprints" you take going uphill, the long standing going downhill on rough terrain, really tennis-like.
