Gosen OG Micro 16 vs PSG

i don't like gossen og sheep and i prefer prince synth. gut duraflex . . . just shows you it is all a matter of personal taste / playing / racket . . .

while it is somewhat comparable, i find OG to be softer and psgd to be crisper. i prefer crisper. that being said, these strings are certainly in the same neighborhood (not like comparing a soft multi to kevlar).

if you haven't you should try them both and see what you think. you'll likely like one better than the other.

Yes, it is quite a matter of preference. I have purchased one of each and looking forward to trying them. Just wanted some feedback first so to know what to expect. Are there a particular tension that anyone recommend for these strings?

I prefer the Gosen for my own rackets. I use the 17 gauge, it doesn't last, but I think it plays very well - - I don't push Gosen on my customers, they prefer the brand name of Prince...

Yes, Micro 16 is comparable to PSGDF. I prefer the PSGDF. It has a more crisp feel to it.

they're completely different beasts, the gosen played more lively/powerful/springy to me, but wasn't uncontrollable... it was very comfortable, i've always preferred the syn though...

PSG is ordinary compared to multifilaments, and i want to play as well as i can, so spend more, play better!

I like the way the OG Micro plays, as it is softer and feels good when using it as the cross string in a hybrid. But, I have had problems with it breaking, sometimes before its even been played with, a couple of times while stringing. PSw/D has never broken.
