i'm going to let y'all in on a little secret: believe it or not, there are actually a fair few women out there in the world that i'm not interested in shagging. yeah, crazy, i know. and while i struggle to believe it, some of those women might not be interested in shagging me either (not entirely sold on this one, tho). even crazier, some of those women are still interesting people, the kind of people that one could have a good friendship with. mind blown.

can gay men/women have genuine, functioning friendships with people of the same gender? surely no one in this day and age seriously thinks that the answer to this is 'no'. if they do, they should probably make some more gay acquaintances.

It’s rare a married person have a good friendship with someone other gender. At least where I come from it’s not normal to do that, cause it’s unnatural.
And as I said before every male friend I’ve had wanted to eventually shag. It’s often men that aren’t like top shelves men, as if they since they don’t have a girlfriend, they find to have a female friend a best second, at least they can have a sniff and some feminine encounter.

I think it was Sudy @Sudacafan who pointed out that you can only vouch for yourself if you feel you can be friends with the opposite sex but you can never vouch for the other person. He or she may come off as friendly but you never know in that emotional world of ours, who's thinking/feeling what.

Being good friend with a hot babe is terrible. She always complaints about dating life
which is “not you ever” and you eventually met the stud that she calls her boyfriend.
Usually, it is a guy who treats her badly, either two times her, shows up late or makes her
feel inferior. Maybe she will talk to you about the bedroom and performance and other intimate
secrets. All the time, you are just super frustrated that you are just platonic and will never even
get a shot at being romantic with her to tell her how great a person she is and how you
would love to be her girlfriend, how good she is at love making, etc...!

That why ex lovers(boyfriend, husbands) are usually the best guy friends of ladies. They know
everything about the themselves since they experienced everything all ready. It becomes a
two street too. He can lay his relationship trouble on her and vice verse.

Not just that, but very rarely do people make friends outside their own beauty range.

I had a TON of female friends in college. None of them were ugly. Most of them, I would have been glad to date if they asked me. And a lot of them were probably interested and just waiting for my dumb *** to make a move.

The ugly ones wanted nothing to do with me, like they just assumed I'd be being insincere by talking to/befriending them.

I don't know about that. A lot of my friends in school and college were quite attractive, much more than me. I guess there has to be a mutual understanding of the boundaries in the friendship in those cases for it to work.

I used to feel that all these hot women befriending me were 'out of my league'...then at some point I realized, that's not how they saw it. It came with maturity...how old are you?

My last hookup was a 27-year-old Miss USA contestant who had a bit part in a major movie with one of the biggest stars in H'wood (she was one of his one-night stands). In college I wouldn't have dreamed she would have been interested in me, but at 38 I could sense her interest immediately.

I have one female friend (at my current job) who isn't 'into me' at all and is way below my beauty range.
