i'm going to let y'all in on a little secret: believe it or not, there are actually a fair few women out there in the world that i'm not interested in shagging. yeah, crazy, i know. and while i struggle to believe it, some of those women might not be interested in shagging me either (not entirely sold on this one, tho). even crazier, some of those women are still interesting people, the kind of people that one could have a good friendship with. mind blown.
another crazy secret: it's possible for some people to have friends that you think are attractive too. there's this magical drug called 'social intelligence' that allows people to discern pretty well when sex/romance is off the table in a particular relation. some of these people manage to still maintain a solid friendship without making a terrible fuzz about it. maybe not the situation you'd want with a best friend for life, but there are more kinds of friendship than that.
It’s rare a married person have a good friendship with someone other gender. At least where I come from it’s not normal to do that, cause it’s unnatural.turn the question on its head and see if it still looks worth taking seriously:
can gay men/women have genuine, functioning friendships with people of the same gender? surely no one in this day and age seriously thinks that the answer to this is 'no'. if they do, they should probably make some more gay acquaintances.

Being good friend with a hot babe is terrible. She always complaints about dating life
The best is, friends with benefits! Usually, ex lovers keeping in touch and hooking up from time to time! Their is no relationship stuff only sex! Off shoot to a swinger lifestyle! Many times, not even dinner is needed only a cheap bottle of wine.Platonic love is all there is. Everything else is temporary.
What if he's not? Here is the exception: the guy happens to be gay, then definitely a guy can be friends with woman is true!
What if he's not?
Well, looks like I'm in the minority here.

I will concede that if you're a single dude and you have a ton of female friends, odds are pretty high that you end up developing feelings for one of them.
It happens every once in a while, hence my point that if a guy makes enough female friends over time, he's likely to fall for one of them. But it's anything but impossible.

I don't know about that. A lot of my friends in school and college were quite attractive, much more than me. I guess there has to be a mutual understanding of the boundaries in the friendship in those cases for it to work. Not just that, but very rarely do people make friends outside their own beauty range.
I had a TON of female friends in college. None of them were ugly. Most of them, I would have been glad to date if they asked me. And a lot of them were probably interested and just waiting for my dumb *** to make a move.
The ugly ones wanted nothing to do with me, like they just assumed I'd be being insincere by talking to/befriending them.

My best friend is a woman. Friends since school. She spoke at my wedding.True or false? I mean platonic friends. One of the other threads in this forum made me want to post a separate thread about this topic...

One of the two funniest people I know.
Her overweight doctor told her that she needed to lose some weight and change her diet and what was she going to do about it?
Her response "what's your secret".
