Happy 30th Anniversary HEAD Prestige On Tour Since 1986

G.O.A.T.
I have the correct racquet for HEAD to use in their campaign to sell watches with the Prestige name.

Do you see now its only about marketing a name and trading on how the Original Prestige Classic played, preformed, and feels. HEAD falsely claims that the new garbage will play and perform like their namesake.

What a beauty. It would be better if Head just give us what we want. The new watch is probably the cost of a new racquet.

Nice watch. But they put the wrong racquet in the advert.

Robin Haase needs to switch to a bigger racket... Everyone who lost needs to switch to one size bigger except Zverev....just kidding.. I kid :p.

In many product life cycles, what's old eventually becomes new again, except when it comes to Head. They don't want to go retro ever again. Clothing, cars, movies, other racquet manufacturers have all gone full circle, but Head only travels in a straight and inflexible line.

LOL... must be why their organisation is called HEAD... stubborn, hard headed people that push things their way or the highway... many are starting to choose the highway... Adios amigos... :);)

Haha. Head make no sense. The current line is a confusing cluster-**** of a thousand different models which are all pretty such the same thing. I don't want one of them. Meanwhile Wilson are more than happy to sell to their old customers at inflated prices.

Vsbabolat, if Prince and Wilson offer the things you like, why do you insist with Head?

I don't think one thing has anything to do with the other, really. You seem to be on a reactionary kick where you have grown to resent the classic HEAD frames for some reason. That's fine. I won't speculate as to why. But the fact remains that HEAD once made the best frames in the world for some people. And that they have truly lost their way is hard for some of us to accept.

Head is heading into Dunlop territory now! Who will buy them out?

I strung a Dunlop Hotmelt 200G today on the job. Looks like a serious racket and was very nice to hold, at least nice weight and balance. The client uses it as a backup to a Blade 104... kind of a shame if you ask me... the mold looks like more Prestige-y in person than you would think.

I got to see the Ultra Tour in the flesh for the first time today. Man it looks exactly like the PT57A mold, maybe the throat area is a bit shorter- and of course beam is a bit wider.

Isn't this thread about the Prestige 600??

It's definitely very close. The UT has those sharper throat dimples more like the PT57e.

Had a nice hit with the PC600 and the Prestige Tour MP. There really is nothing like the PC600. A singular racquet in every respect.

The PTMP is an unsung gem I must say. Quite powerful and beautifully soft at the same time. Too bad they are so rare. Every one needs to try this special unicorn.

Yeah! And Prince is saying since Head doesn't want to use Twaron we can use it. Stupid people are running that company now

Do you mean that Prince is using twaron in their current line-ups like Textreme?

The last Prince racquet I've used was Ignite 95 and to be honest it didn't impress me at all.

OK, so twaron will be used only in the upcoming Beast line.

By the way, how do you think about the Textreme and the Wilson 97 PS? Which one has more "classic" feel?

The Beast line is supposed to be the new Warrior line. We don't know yet if Twaron make it into the control frames. Textreme is reinforcement at the throat while Twaron would be mixed into the overall layup. Kevlar/Twaron is pretty stretchy, so that's a good thing.

Is IG Prestige Mid worth keeping?

How about IG Prestige MP and IG Prestige Pro?

I would say that the IG Prestige Mid is definitely a racquet worth keeping... I also have an IG MP which plays awesome, however that racquet I have modified with some weight in the hoop and handle to provide easier power, greater stability, and an increased sweet spot and SW. Don't have the Pro... but my brother preferred the Pro over the MP...

I sold my MP after buying few Mids. They are rock solid beyond any comparison but still very nimble (SW + TW between PS85 and PS90).

One of my Mids I keep as NOS ready to sell it in next 10years for 400% of original price... just as it's now with PC600 NOS :)
