Has Carlos shut the door on both Med, Tsitsipas and Zverev for good?

I mean, whatever hopes Med had in his life, I 'm sure it got fulfilled with that single slam win at USopen.

I don't see how he will ever score a win against Carlos with the way he got dismantled in the last couple of meetings.

We all saw what happened to Tsitsipas in RG. Zverev can't catch a break and I don't see him coming high anytime soon.

Who can realistically Challenge Carlos when Big 2 hang up their boots?

Med should not be making the semis of Wimbledon. He was fortunate with his draw but was exposed by Eubanks out of all people
who in his quarter would have or should have made it? You tell me...

If Alcaraz hadn't matured this early, Med would be a wimbledon finalist out of all people. Beretinni is mostly one dimensional - so no hope. Citybus- thumping no. Who??

Goes back to relying on Kyrgios . Just to think about it, it's that bad.

Zverev can trouble him but doesn't have the form right now. He has the script on the other two and it's a bad matchup for them.
Pretty much in agreement with this.

A servebot that has a powerful baseline game and can put Alcaraz on the backfoot can stop him.

Zverev and Sinner if mentally and % of first serve is up to the task, they will trouble him.

This is also why Struff was able to trouble Alcaraz in Madrid as well.

Yea I agree. I think someone who can consistently rush him can trouble him and if you have a strong serve and baseline game, this is possible. Medvedev stands too far back and doesn't consistently hit with enough pace and Tsitsipas' backhand is too weak. It's like target practice for Alcaraz.

Rune will be a worthy challenger in a year or two. And I would wait until Novak is no longer a slam contender until I count out the others. I expect Carlos to be a double digit slam winner but he’s obviously not going to win CYGS every year. Someone else has to win the tournaments Carlos won’t

its looking more possibility of CYGS considering the field he will be facing. He needs someone like Prime Big3 to put up a fight in next few years. It's a clean sweep otherwise.

It can be his injuries that can prevent him, don't see anyone else stopping the bullet train.

Alcaraz has instantly made his strokes compact without losing the timing since Queens second match.

He's less susceptible to being rushed TODAY, I believe.

if he loses to Djokovic again, I don't care what he accomplishes. LOL. HE can win 3 Calendar Slams in a row against this field of Davida-CHOKEina, Med, Zverev, Tstsipas. . It won't erase the stink of losing to 36 year old DJokovic for 2 straight slams

Will Djokovic shut the door for Carlos being an ATG this Sunday?
The outcome of this match will have no bearing on this issue. Djokovic has at most a year or two left winning slams, then what? ATG status is 6 slams. I doubt there's many knowledgable people doubting Carlos will reach that number without much bother. He'll probably be at 6 slams by 2026 and will only be 23 years old then.

Yes.

Only Sinner's game troubles him a little bit.

Carlos is a class above everyone else on the tour, except Novak... Meddy looked today like an amateur today.. I wouldn't erase Zverev, Tsitsipas, Ruud as a slam winner, if dices matched for a Čilić as a slam winner why wouldn't they match for any of them?

Realistically at this point only Rune and Sinner.

I mean all it takes is one upset for them to be in play in a post Novak world so no not quite but I have a hard time seeing them beating a prime Carlos more than 1 out of 10 times at slams.

He already did shut it five weeks ago. If you can’t even last two sets against a 63-year-old using a cane, and you are in your peak and prime, that’s it for you as an ATG. Alcaraz is de facto morally retired!

Even if Novak wins (I hope so), Carlos has a game to amass huge amount of titles once Novak is retired. I don't see anyone at this time with potential to stop him, he might achieve all kinds of records without real competition. Plenty of talent and bright future for that kid, he'll definitely be an ATG...

A false one at that - given he couldn’t grab the crown from a 36yo player?

Med? Nah. Med will beat him again on HC some day.

Annoying Greek - nope. Plagiarist will beat Carlos again in a place like Adelaide or a 250 in Umag.

Well, we are talking about 36yrs old Novak, not any 36 yrs old.... Novak is in an orbit by himself, self explanatory. In my opinion, he'll keep beating the field for some more time, before he passes the torch, still some records left to be broken, can't wait to see it happen :)

Zverev might end up being (statistically) the greatest player to never win a slam. 2x WTF, Olympic gold medalist, bunch of Masters, ranked #2, etc.
But after you watch the 2020 USO F, then you'll realize why he doesn't have a slam and doesn't deserve one.

It's still a work in progression but he's better today than even last week from what I see. Crazy natural talent right there.
Agree — it’s basically ameliorating for every weakness that he has. If he were something like 6 foot one, I think you have a very good chance if healthy to break all the records still don’t like the match of dynamics versus Djokovic as is, though.

Unless something changes with their game, if they have to play Alcaraz in a slam, I think they're done. If he gets injured or doesn't play is their only shot at winning.
In BO3 it's possible. Even the Big 3 didn't win all the tournaments they entered, but they did win all but a handful of slams for over 15 years.
