Have you ever seen anything like this?

New client showed up today with this.

Babolat Drive Light.

With main and cross tied off on the same string.

Looked mental.

Crosses clearly tie off 10B.

Was charged £23 pounds for it too.

Thoughts?

Cheers, Paul

Actually, I've seen this quite a number of times.

A local stringer near me does this - for some completely unknown reason.

When I see this sort of thing, it does two things:
1) Drives me crazy. :censored:
2) Makes me wonder just how many other things the stringer has also done incorrectly.

That looks awesome!!!

It makes me want to try a 2 piece string job and tie off all strings on the same anchor string!!!

Surprised they can get the extra string through the grommet....

I was gonna say. Not sure it's laziness since it may require a starting clamp and you would have to feed both strands through before tying either. Seems like a way to avoid further grommet damage or a bad grommet. Dunno if I'd do it on a stick strung at higher tensions, tho. In any case, like most string jobs I see folks complain about here, prolly works fine and does no real harm.
That also looks like an ALU type crossed with a Revolve type string. If it actually is ALU and Revolve, I wonder how it plays since both strings are actually a bit similar, with revolve being the stiffer one.

Did they tie off the other side in the same holes?

You want pressure on all four sides for racket longevity (warp), but with two knots on polar opposite sides he could be messing with sweet spot stuff (stress points)

It's probably that they just didn't know the 2nd tie-off is on a cross. They probably tried getting the string through one of the mains to tie it off and couldn't.
