Hurkacz - Murray reborn

No comparison of any kind. HH hasn't won a sausage. By the same age, 22 years and 1 month, Andy had beaten each of the Big 3 several times and won a bunch of stuff including 3 Masters and had made a Slam final.

Moving on......

Its too bad Andrew decided to show his true unsportsmanlike colors later in life

Fooled a bunch of simpleton Europeans before then

The dude plays nothing like Murray and he's anything but a grinder. Did you see his sloppy movement? You have to be a genius to be a grinder with such movement and have any kind of success.

Obviously he’s not Andy Murray and hasn’t won anything lol. Maybe I was a little overreaching on the title. But his strokes and movement look like Murray. His sloppy movement was enough to beat Nishikori

His movement doesn't look quite as fast and agile as Murray's to me. A bit more of tall man big steps/leaps type of thing. But he does move well and hustles a lot for a tall guy, I can see where the comparison comes from.

Man, this guy plays just like Andy Murray - scrambles for literally everything, loopy forehand, flat backhand. Weirdly similar.
This is the exact thing I thought watching him lumber around between points when I saw him last Fall. His return style is known to be pretty much an exact copy and as Murray has one of the best first returns in the history of the game that will do.

Hurkacz is no where near the athlete Murray is, but almost every shot is better; however, speed kills.;) He is a sneaky tough player and has an eerie precision to his game when he's at his best with perhaps the best placement of any modern player. Ultimately I think his speed will hold him back from the top 10 despite beating three top ten players in the last month. Just a great, great player to watch so hopefully he'll keep troubling the top players.:p

He played Shapo aka Baby Thiem nice and steady in the final set and got the W. Get these ball bashers out of here.
Hurkacz and Tsitsipas are such refreshing changes in the game vs Thiemerev types. Something to be said about controlling the ball and extending points for a young player as it seems to help then generally increase their skill level while also avoiding injury. These two seem to be learning with every match.

In here for the jinx Het! I really like this player and I encourage you to watch more of his matches. Has beaten Nishikori twice now and in both matches Nishi was seeming in control, but then Hurkacz was able to slip by him. He even stole a set vs Tsitsipas in a similar manner (who's known for some late set surprises.) I'm rather amazed Nishikori was not able to rush him into error, but Hurkacz weathered the storm.

Amazed that Hurkacz has now twice beaten Nishikori in the space of just a few weeks (previously in 2nd round of Dubai). Wonder if he's going to continue being a matchup problem for the world #7?

He's so new I really have no idea. His stats are not amazing which is why I'm tempering expectations. Also got Pouille and Shapo so near top 30 level this week.

Federer’s going to give him a beating tomorrow. Shapo was just spraying all over the place against him. I think Federer will close a lot of points at the net against him. The guy is steady and he made a couple nice gets against Shapo but shapo just imploded himself.

When will Shapo learn not to spray all over the place. Seems to be the story in every match.

Yeah Shapo is his own worst enemy. He hits some great highlight reel shots but then misses some routine ones or goes for too much too soon . I hope he can fix this but he might just be one of those guys that has absolutely no patience. He seems to get pissed off to easily as well.

Well
His anticipation is great, and that's what I can say from my viewing experience...
But still far away from what mury was..

And yes, you're a certified jinxer... xD xD xD

Murray had bad luck, if he had been born 10 years later, he would have at least one career similar to that of Andre Agassi (8 majors) since the Scotish is clearly superior to the level shown by now of the so-called "next generation".

I'd rather watch real Murray though, and that's saying something for me

Murray has been known to come back strong, so we'll see how he fairs after the hip replacement. The desire is still there, he just had too much pain in his hip.

I do see some similarities in the way they (Murray and Hubert) hit their BH slices and I/O FHs, but apart from that -- not so much.

Just watched the match with Federer, and I see it. Not to say that he's going to be an good, but similarities exist.

As above I just saw him playing Federer and immediately within seconds
thought of Murray. It only got worse from there. I kept expecting to see
Judy in his box.

He has plagiarized every shot in Murrays playbook.

The only thing he is missing is the come one after an error from the other side of the net and the I've chronic diarrhea limp walk to the chair.
