Three out of four next gen semi-finalists, so even if Djokovic wins the tide has run out for the BIG THREE.

it'd indisputably be the best result for tennis if med won of course, but idc if djok wins another slam either. if he gets 8 AOs that's pretty neat

Not quite. None of them has yet won a slam beating one of the Big 3. (We all know Thiem only won the USO due to 2 of them being missing, and the 3rd being disgracefully DQ'd)

The Machiavellian Medvedev beating the Balkan bully boy would seal the deal, would show the world that the Next Gen have truly arrived.

So be it.

Medvedev didn't waste his energy so you got what you wanted. Let's see if he can deliver on Sunday.

The rampaging Russian deserves the title.

He has won 20 consecutive matches and is the tour's form player.

Time for the Next Gen to finally come through and defeat one of the Big 3 in a slam final, the biggest stage of all.

Oh, and he'd stop Novak Djokovic from winning yet another slam.

I stand with Mad Lad. And this time, it's personal. @Nole Slam
We all hope that Medvebear wins this and makes male tennis exciting again.

All except those evil Novak fans... They are evil evil evil evil evil...

So evil.

How dare they support a guy who could defeat most of Fed's records.

Evil.

This is irrelevant. The next gen is pushing out the Big Three. It's a process, but the AO is a big step forward. And, yes, Medvedev winning would seal it.

I am wondering who will receive more support - the 8 time champ or the debutant finalist ?
Many Serb fans will be torn between loyalty to Novak and their fanatical devotion to Russia...

They may not cheer as loudly, as they do in fact fear Putin's wrath. (They worship and fear him.)

The crowd will be 60-40 for Medvebear, but whoever goes down 0-2 or 1-2 in sets will get the majority. As per usual in non-Fed finales.

Right, because obviously everyone who thinks it would be a disgrace to see Novak Djokovic as the GOAT of a major sport has to be only caring about Federer. There could be no other reason to dislike the man and his potential status.
Sure there are reasons............... just not in your case.

Besides, rest assured that there is no such thing as GOAT. There is only perhaps best of the Big 3 and even that is at the moment very dubious i.e. none of the 3 can claim it.

Medvedev certainly is playing at a level befitting a slam champion, and I reckon his chances are pretty good in the final. May the better player win.

I'm not quite sure where the triumph of two tennis stars from Slavic countries of Orthodox persuasion fits into your Cold War world, but please don't enlighten me!

Coming from a communist (right?), that is music to my ears!

I wouldn't want anything else but "insults" from you, so keep going...

Judging from this absurd and jumbled question, you must be beyond confused... Hence beyond my help.

Sorry, chum.

I am a Serb and know a few more things (about 5000) than you about Serb-Russian relations, but you are not a willing pupil nor do I sense much potential in you.

Master Yoda spoken he has. A refusal deal you with must...

Like Rafa at RG, Djoker will win in straight easy sets as predicted.

Djokovic was playing much better last year at AO and didn’t even win in three straight easy sets then. What makes you think he‘ll do that this year after dropping five sets on his way to the final.

You are a Serb and therefore lack distance and objectivity, but in any event I never asked you any question. I already sensed it would be pointless.

Yeah, best to ask an Andromeda Galaxy inhabitant about Serbia. They are experts!

Great logic.

Imagine a journalist saying "nah, let's not talk to Serbs to find out about Serbia, they know nothing about it and they all lie... Let's talk to a Peruvian 5 year-old instead."

Serb fans have been thrown out of the AO on more than one occasion, so I'm not expecting that there will be any wild and fanatical behaviour for either player.

Wrong. Sampras is my favourite tennis player, and as I've said before, it's an over-simplification to state that all Novak Djokovic hate is based on being a Federer fan.

Since you're so convinced you know me though, I shall not discuss this with you any further. Good day sir!

@UnderratedSlam ... I can confirm this. He may like Federer but 1983 is a Sampras fan first and foremost.

This is a pointless and untrue comment, always.

Serb fans were thrown out of the tournament. And Greek fans were admonished by the Chair Umpire yesterday.

These things happen but they are tiny groups who don't reflect their wider populations.

It's selective bigotry with these folks, always.

I didn't compare them. And I wasn't making any serious comment. I made a joke with a point. The point was that Stalin was Georgian before he was a Bolshevik.

And Bush did kill a million so I'm glad you told us you're not a fan, but where is your moral outrage?

Lol, compare Bush Junior to one of the worst tyrants and murderers in history. And I'm not a Bush fan.
