If Carlos Alcaraz was born a decade later, would he realistically achieve more than Timic or Pialta in the Big Seven era ?

Would he be as successful?

The Big Seven might be the best era we've seen since the Big 3 retired, but the transition era between the rise of Alcaraz and Sinner and the oldest members of the Big 7 (Hsun-Wu and Foley) was notoriously weak. Alcaraz won several slams in the in-between but quickly left tennis after he won the CYGS in 2027 claiming he had "nothing to prove", suspiciously just as Hsun-Wu won 2 Masters titles back to back in Rome and Halle.

And of course, Pialta (the most effortless looking player since Federer) and Timic (world-class when peaking and not injured) didn't really get to fulfill their full potential, only winning 1-2 slams each while the Big 7 mopped up each of the 5 slams every year.

Just the eye test from the old Blu-Rays, I think Alcaraz just wasn't as quick or strong as the modern players. Their sports medicine back then was iffy at best, whereas Timic especially has optimized himself to the kilocalorie.

Do you think Carlos Alcaraz would've achieved what he had if he had to compete in the strongest era tennis has ever seen?
