Sinner would deal a lot of troubles to Alcaraz if he placed in Carlos's tournament half

If the Wimbledon draws were reversed, Djokovic would be played with Medvedev and Alcaraz played with Sinner, from what I've seen in real matches, Novak would have a relatively easy three-set win, while Sinner would drag Alcaraz into a five-set battle where he would have a chance. Sinner played much better than Medvedev yesterday, Jannik produced great returns, played long and hard shots and covered the court great. Daniil, on the other hand, was far behind the baseline and it's no wonder that he pulled the short end of the rope in the rallies against Carlos.

If the draws were swapped, both favorites - Novak & Carlos - would play against opponents who are bad match ups for both of them. But with the way Meddy played yesterday, Novak wouldn't have any big problems. Med is no grass courter and their match would not be an even game as we see it on HC. Their difference in quality on grass is considerable. The Alcaraz-Sinner matchup is a different situation. Sinner is a player who can push Alcaraz on the defensive, who beat him at Wimbledon last year and had MP against him at the US Open.
Jannik could have caused huge problems for Carlito even yesterday if the draw had been reversed. And he might even would won, after all I still consider Sinner to be a more natural grass player than Alcaraz.

My opinion is that Djokovic got a tougher test than Alcaraz in SF. They will beat him on Sunday.

I Dont know. Sinner has looked like crap all year. He may have gotten bageled. I knew Wimbledon was gonna be rough as a Sinner fan when I saw him dropping sets to mugs I never even heard of. Somehow Sinner has regressed from 2022 to 2023. Hes got the inherent goods in his game but he isn't improving at all.

I don't think so. Sinner is glorified Berdych. Raz would have beaten him in Miami as well even though Raz is 2 years younger. Sinner's future is not as bright as his fans hoped.
I don’t think so @nachiket nolefam about the Miami win. Sinner was an overhead smash away from giving a breadstick to Alcaraz in the first set and Sinner gave him 6-4 in the second set. If anything, Alcaraz was lucky to not have lost in straights

Sinner has no better game than raz. His coach himself said Raz moves better. Raz serve is probably better which is such a slap to sinner despite being taller. Raz can come to the net. Slice. Change the rally speed

Sinner is one trick pony.

But why is Sinner a bad matchup for Alcaraz then? Sinner returns aggressively and better and closer to the lines and Alcaraz feels rushed. Secondly Sinner hits the ball deep and with a lot of pace and his natural speed of shot is faster than Alcaraz’s with less effort. Thirdly Sinner makes Alcaraz do the running, because Sinner overpowers him being the taller one

Fourthly - Sinner hits a naturally flat ball. I notice Alcaraz uses a lot of top spin, Flat low bouncing balls are well suited to grass

Sinner is a bad matchup for Raz because Raz doesn't play strategic tennis against him. Watch any Medvedev v/s Sinner match and you'd know what's the formula to beat the lanky Italian; feed him consistent depth and length, not with pace& spin in midcourt, keep the ball low & force him into long rallies. Alcaraz does the exact opposite at times.

Novak would've had his fair share of troubles with Medvedev too, if draws were reversed.
Both the finalists got the matchups where they're more comfortable than the other way around.
honestly, I think Med would've beat Djokovic. Lets hope he's on the opposite half come the US Open for the CYGS

Not on Wimbledon grass, simply because Djokovic moves much better on this surface than Medvedev. He'd definitely have made the Serb sweat a lot for the win though, as the matchup dynamics would be in play.

I didn't people were invested enough in nextgen players that the trend of awarding moral wins also applies to them now

i know you are a big shill for Sinner, but have you ever watched him play in person? He has high topspin on both wings and is not a flat hitter. His high topspin combined with high pace is what makes him a dangerous power baseliner.

Sinner was an unforced error machine vs Novak on Friday. Novak was tested more by Rublev and Hurcacz. Novak has not had an easy match vs Med in a long time.
