With Toni no longer on the road with Nadal from the next year how big an effect will it have on Rafa? Not having his mentor and coach who has been with him since the age of 4 could take some time to adjust for Rafael

He is responsible for the day-to-day running of the academy and next year he wants to focus on this job instead of traveling with Rafa. C.Moya, who is the Technical Director of Rafa's academy, will be the 'head coach' of the Rafa team.

Ok, bare with me. Lets say that its true that Toni has NOT coached Nadal directly, that he has had some influence on him since childhood, mainly has been a companion, a good uncle, etc, BUT NOT coached him.

The whole world, who follows tennis and Nadal, knows now who uncle Toni is, he is "the coach of one Rafa Nadal", he is selling books, selling corporate talks, selling clinics, all over the world, and now, co-owning a tennis academy which will, for sure, be one of the biggest in the whole world. He is now seen as a tennis guru, the european version of Nick Bolletieri. He is not only a tennis guru, but a mental guru. At least this is how he is widely perceived.

What if it all is true? They made up the whole "Toni coaching Nadal since he was 4", they have bought up all of the real coaches, they have them on their payroll even, at their academy and they sell the idea to the public, that it is all Toni's work and genious. It would be stupid NOT to create a world-class academy now.

Again, not saying this is the case, but crazier things have happened and have been made up.

Toni has always been touted as his coach and has travelled everywhere with him before Nadal won a single title. It would be some sort of a master plan of epic proportions if they conceived that Nadal was going to become an ATG already when he started and hence created the mythical Toni Nadal figure as you call him

I always loved Toni and will miss seeing him in the stands. It will be a long, long time before any future coach wins 16 slams with their pupil. Toni is GOAT coach, and probably Lennart Bergelin would be #2 with 11 majors for his guy.
